Performance Of R33 Skyline Vs Ford Xr5 Turbo Focus
Raging Demon replied to LatinR33's topic in General Automotive Discussion
No offence but have you even driven a XR5 turbo yourself? i haven't driven an XR5 turbo personally but i've been driving around a Volvo S40 T5 AWD. Same motor as the XR5 turbo just a lighter chasis compared to the S40. I can tell you its one damn of a car. Engine is extremely smooth, boost kicks in and the car drives like a treat. Seriously keep your bias comments to yourself. FWD cars are just as quick if they are well balanced. Its the same as RWD cars. RWD cars aren't instantly OMG uleh fully sick and drives like its a go kart because its RWD. Both drives have their advantages and disvantages. The key word is throttle control my friend.... Cheers -
Hey everyone! Like what my topic stated i'm after european car tuners in Melbourne. The reason for being is we just picked up a brand new Volvo S40 T5 AWD and i'm wanting to chip the car and fit a K&N typhoon air intake. We test drove the car recently and it was pretty quick from a standing start to the mid range, but it lacks high end power. Power kills off around 5 grand and it redlines at 6.5 grand so the T5 engine has heaps more poteinal. Cheers

The turbo i'll choose for this particular application would be a HKS GTRS. Reason for choosing this turbo would be: -Capable of producing more power than the HKS 2535 -Newer design, spools up just as well as a HKS 2535 if not better Cons would be: -May not produce as much as a HKS 2835 Pro S but it comes bloody close If response is what your after than GTRS is the turbo your after but if your chasing that extra KW than the 2835 Pro S Personally i'll go the GTRS but the down side is the price.

Nissan Skyline R34 Gtr
Raging Demon replied to plaYboY's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
From memory R34 GTR is the standard GTR (base) R34 GTR V-Spec has carbon fibre undertray R34 GTR V-Spec II probably same as V-Spec 1 but with some other features R34 GTR V-spec N1 has different turbos R34 GTR Nür-Spec dunno, nurburgring edition??? R34 GTR M-Spec tuned by mines i think R34 GTR M-Spec Nür same as the above but with extra stuff R34 GTR Z-Tune 500PS beast tuned by nismo Please correct me if i made any mistakes Cheers -
Your probably thinking about the RB25DET Neo (206KW) coz that has some extra power ontop of the standard RB25DET (190KW). Thats like an extra 10-15KW @ the wheels.

HKS GT-RS turbos HKS 2835Pro

How much CC are the Neo RB25DET rated?
-
As shonen said the GT2835Pro S would be a great turbo to acheive that kind of power with other parts like injects, etc. Why I said the GT2835Pro over the GT2835R because its internal which spools up quicker and i'm pretty sure its a straight bolt.

What it the best sounding BOV?

I perfer the Greddy Type S -
How long do they last? Could you post how much you've clocked on your RB engine? Cheers
-
They say the GTR feels more like a race car. Also GTR's are AWD unlike the GTS-T which are obvisously RWD, you can config your GTR to be a RWD too. With a 15 y.o. car you should be changing some parts. Depends on the condition of the car too. I wouldn't be upgrading the turbo first, coz the turbo isn't really important. You can drive without a working turbo but u cant drive with dodge internals which are bound to fail. The GTRs' suspension is much different to a GTS suspension. GTRs' are harder, more for track racing.

They are rated @ 280PS
-
Yeah, going to be 21 by then

Does anyone know how long would an RB25DET engine last. I'm planning to get a car soon maybe 3-4 years time, but don't know if I should go for a new car or just a R34 GT-T (I love the R34 series)? I'm worried that an RB25DET would just die too soon. So what is an average life span for an RB25DET engine? BTW a stock one. By the time when I get a R34, i'm planning on a 7-8 Y.O. car. I'm also worried that the car is going to be unstable, meaning the car would rumble/shaking too much when idling. Is there such things as stablizing kits?? And if the engine died, do i just need to replace the stuff on the engine?
-
The V35 is the ugliest bitch i've seen by nissan. I guess i'm going 2 to buy a R34 and drop in a VQ35DETT into it
-
The HKS GT-RS turbo kit would work fine on a RB20, they even tested the turbo on a CA18 and it was nice and smooth.
-
From flywheel to rearwheel power, its loses around 25-30% of power. So from the wheels to flywheel, just do the opposite i guess, do the maths.
-
With your 2835proS Whats the purpose of the tube/pipe (Black Thingy) I have a feeling that the tube/pipe thing wont last long.

What is the stock turbo in a NEO RB25DET rated? I know the stock RB26DETT turbos are rated @ 280PS in the R34....so is there any chance the turbo in the NEO RB25DET the same as its bro? Cheers
