Is this normal? if not any ideas on what I should be looking for ? I had the unit intalled and they think it's normal after intall.

Last bump hoping someone can decode the R33 code.

Thanks funkey. with all the changes my car has had I was hoping to work out what options it did have. Anyone else able to decode this?

I have been searching the Net for ages trying to find info on the different numbers on the manufactures plate. can anyone help fill in some blanks: E-ECR33 - Easy one my model ECR33 - 018245 - Model and my build number (1993 R33) GGKBRTNR33EDA - Not sure <-----Need help on this one 1N4k - Paint (Grey Silver) RB25DE - original motor (Now a RB25DET) RE5R01A - Original transmission 5 speed auto (Now 5 Manual) RC35 - My diff but not sure <---- need help on this one I saw a sight about a month ago that had all this info. Pretty sure is was an NZ site but after a weeks looking I still can't find it. If anyone can poit me to a site that has this info or knows the answer I would be greatful. thanks guys

Will give RACQ a call tomorrow. Guy who had it before me was called Alex. Still not sure if I should get a new diff as it still has the auto's diff in I think. Well the list of things to do is shorter but not by a great deal.

Car is due out of the shop on Friday. The guys picked up a nice big list of other items that I needed to get done and convinced me to get most of the mods done now to save dyno time later. I replaced alot of the pipes and belts, did full service and tune including clutch and brake fluids, The powerFC is being installed and having a custom dump made up and highflow cat connected to the nismo exhaust, FMIC is in with nice polished piping and did brake pads and had disks machined. Looks like it had 550cc injectors and does have the GTR pump so hoping I will get decent power with the stock turbo. In saving mode now for bigger turbo and boost controller. Was going to install the in dash LCD screen and DVD player that came with the car (still in boxes) but decided on just putting a nice MP3 headunit in. WIll advertise the DVD stuff at some stage just to get rid of it. Anyone got an idea of how many KW I should be making after all this? LOL I am just hoping that it ends up being faster than my old 180 sx.

Picked it up on Friday. It still needs a fair bit of work (mainly mechanical) but thats half the fun. For the records it's a 94 R33 in Lambo yellow (Very nice paint job). Has a GTR body kit and custom white leather interier. All the black vinyl has been sprayed white and the dash surrounds are metalic silver. It also has the white glowing dials in the dash. Mechanically it's got potential. Car was originally a non-turbo auto but has had a 95 series II RB25DET and 5 speed popped in. So far for mods it's got cat back nismo exhaust, monza blow off, larger injectors and a GTR pump. It runs like a dog and you can smell the fuel it is running so rich. It's booked into MercMotorsports for tomorrow. Going to get a FMIC and PowerFC put in right away so it can be tuned to at least run nice. Will look at getting the dump pipe and boost control done soon after. Seeing the car was an auto I may grab a new diff too. Does anyone know an auto elect who can calibrate speedos in Bris btw? Speedo is miles out due to the Man-auto conversion. Ohh will take some pics and post them.

Ok picked up the car on Firday. The car has been a project for the previous owner and is unfinished. So far the body work is complete (very good custom paint job), interior all done (nice white leather install) and some mechanicals done. The car was originally an auto non-turbo R33. It now has a RB25DET and 5 speed box installed. Only other mods are nismo exhaust and bigger injectors and fuel pump (it runs way too rich). First a couple of questions? Will the diff (still original) need to be replaced because of the gearbox change? How hard is it to have the speedo recalibrated (reads about 1/2 the right speed)? Are there any other issues I should be aware of after a full swap like this? It is booked in tomorrow to get looked at and I am going to have the following items added: Power FC (should fix prblem with stock ecu and bigger injectors) Dump pipe to exhaust FMIC Will eventually add a boost controller and start to tidy up the engine bay so it looks as nice as the rest of the car. LOL nice guess Charly. My last car was a 180sx with a few mods. My other half is into v8's her last car was a VX2 Clubsport R8. I have always liked Skylines and ready for a new project. New car is a 94 R33 GTST with 65k on the clock. R400 body kit custom paint. Engine has catback and pod filter and was told GTR injectors and fuelpump. Going to do all the standards add ons like full exhaust, FMIC, PFC and boost control.

Thanks Sydneykid. Hmm will check what injecters are actually in it when I get it. Sorry for my ignorance but should the GTR injecters work in the GTST?

Just joined up and expect to have my R33 on the weekend. Looking forward to catching some of you guys on cruises etc. Btw can anyone recommend a good place to have an R33 looked after. I plan to do alot of work to the new car and would like to find a good workshop who can do the work and keep the car in tip top condition. (Someone that can work on PFC) Look forward to meeting some of you guys in the future.

Hi guys. I am pretty new here but have been reading the forums for about a month. I am picking up my R33 on the weekend and have a few plans based on many of your comments on this forum. Just wanted the check to see what you guys think. Ok so far the car has the following mods: Nismo cat back exhaust Pod filter GTR Fuel pump GTR Injectors Car has never been boosted and remains factory for everything else. I plan on adding these items right away: Finish exhaust by getting dump pipe and hi-flow cat FMIC Dyno tune Going to order a PFC and boost controller. Is it a good idea to get a new air flow meter while at it? If so what do you recomend. I saw on negun's site he has Tomei AFM adapter for a z32 for only $25. Would this suffice?
