Stuttering Before Boost Is Reached?@! Help!
imprsv replied to imprsv's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Car was datalogged today, we found that the timing was out. We also adjusted the teeth so that it was sitting perfectly. We also changed over to a working CAS which still didnt fix the problem, the timing was jumping around from sitting on 15 to 7/8 up and down. Also tried a few diff coilpacks but we are unsure if they are working correctly. I'm waiting on my walbro replacement to come back then ill be installing that into the tank see if that fixes the issue, other than that its coil packs/injectors we are thinking. Anyone able to add some to the situation? Also, if somone could be nice enuff who lives in the melbournes west to let me borrow there coilpacks for 2 minutes to see if the car runs any better would be appreciated. For a 180sx SR20 Red Top Anyone who can help either post or pm me please! -
Hey Guys, Bought a fuel pump off the site not long ago, bought a brand new Walbro GSS-342 which was going to be sufficent for my needs. Now i got the pump today and put it in, secured it all up connected all the wiring to positive and negative terminals and put the pump back in. Tried getting fuel in the lines but it just wouldnt seem to want to pump. So i played around with it for about an hour trying to work out if i had a blocked line or something and it was all clear. So i put in my old pump again to see if that cured the problem and it sure did send fuel through the lines, now i connected it correctly and the pump makes noise on prime but no petrol gets into the pump itself to send to the engine. Is the pump faulty? or am i just mentally handicaped and missed a step? Thanks Trent

Stuttering Before Boost Is Reached?@! Help!
imprsv replied to imprsv's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Well its not the gap on the plugs After a fair bit of reading ive come to the conclusion that its the fuel pump not sending enough to the engine, probably causing it to lean out. The car runs fine when cold but thats when its running rich but as soon as it settles its stuffed. "Many of you with S13s have probably experienced hesitation on boost which can start to happen when the standard fuel pump is getting old." I believe thats what my problem is. Now im estimating that its dangerous to drive the car whilst in this state, i.e fuel pump could break down, or could lean the engine out. Would i be right saying that? -

Ah it was a rebuild motor previously so it has done now 40,000kms -
Hey There, Got my new engine put in this week, and after a bit of driving around etc i've noticed that sometimes when the revs are low and building up to boost at about 2500rpm the car stutters a bit and feels like its holding back, then once it gets past there it boogies. Now, i had a major issue with one of the cams f**king up so one of my old cams was used in the motor as the other was broken, now if the cams were say to be different would this cause the issue? The cams supposably on the new engine were NA ones but im unsure of this as a fact. The car doesnt really pull hard on 14psi as it used to, it used to throw you back in your seat now the car just seems to pull along the revs? Also thinking Injectors or fuel pump? Help! I wanna get this fixed! Trent

Right, So how do i fix this problem with the ECU? Reset it?

yah running 12 pounds now, havent tried to put it on stock, either way hes fixing it lol
-
haha wish it was that easy, obviously some time u need to build it up to boost

Hey Fellas, Got my new engine put in this week, and after a bit of driving around etc i've noticed that sometimes when the revs are low and building up to boost at about 2500rpm the car stutters a bit and feels like its holding back, then once it gets past there it boogies. Now im not sure what this could be, ive narrowed it down to a few things Vaccum Lines Dirty AFM as the old engine blew up and oil went everywhere Any help would be good as my mechanic has just closed down for xmas and i was hoping to get it sorted sooner rather than later. Any help would be sweet Also is it normal for the engine to be a bit noisy for a bit after putting it in? It had been sitting around for about 1-2 months before it was fired up and the tappets are a touch noisy, but are quieting down after a few drives. Trent

Hey Guys, Got my old motor up for sale after it lost compression in the 2nd cyl, this engine would be good for someone who has time and wants to rebuild a motor It came out of a 93' 180sx with 140,000kms, it is a long motor so no turbo/manifold just a bare motor I'm located in sydenham, victoria but the engine is at my mechanics in Airport west. Inspection welcome but as i said it is in need of a rebuild. $550 ono Looking for a fast sale, if it doesnt sell in a week it goes on ebay. PM me with offers Trent
