  1. I could not get the link, www.icantreadamapwherethe****isit.com.au to work. Just wondering if anyone can tell me where to buy a referdex? If I can't get a referdex in time, I just drive up and down the highway checking all the channels on my $23 CB and I should find everyone, right? Everyones a comedian.
  2. I just used a set of NIZMOs on the front of my R33GTST for the Queensland raceway track day, Braking performance about same as Bendex Ultimates - but they last heaps longer and not as much dust. I've never had fade with either pad. I had a set of Ultimates as spares but I did not use them.
  3. Hey, I was just about to start this thread!!!! Anyway, thanks heaps to Paul and the rest of the organisers / voulnteers, the day was great fun, and ran like clockwork. Lets hope you can get your car out there next time Paul!!!! Thanks heaps to the guy who helped me get back on the track (sorry did not get your name) by helping to "fix" the "minor" fuel leak problem I was having. I thought I'd checked every nut and bolt on ther car, I did not even think of the filler cap. I've alyways said a hammer, a set of multigrips and race tape are the most important tools at a race track. Anyway, I had a ball, was really happy that I did not break anything and I was reasonably happy with my best time (1:12:97) considering it was my first track day with my close to stock R33. I might have to read up on racing lines though:) I think I'll be directing a bit of money torwards the handling side things (after I recover from the accociated costs of the track day!!!), a set of lower coil overs and bigger front disks would be nice. How cool was that Porsche, that thing could handle! Thanks to my pit crew I have a few pics (below) with commentary and all. I'm keen for the next one.
  4. Cool, I'll be there on THURSDAY, if I don't break anything at the track on Tuesday,
  5. Man, I need a beer after reading that.
  6. Just as a side note, it seems nissan has more than doubled the price of the R33 N1 GTR pumps in the past few weeks. last week (27-1-05) I had my car sent for the 100k service and was planning on getting the N1 pump installed as I was told (by Gavin woods Autotech in Queensland) that they were ~$160 (standard was $95). I was called a couple of hours later and they said since they last ordered one of those pumps, the price had more than doubled, something like $350 now. So already facing a $1300 bill, I had to go for the standard pump, bummer.
  7. I see how I go then, I'll be in Kenmore till 8, If I get down there I might try and find everyone with the CB, channel 16?
  8. Prolly cant make it, daaayyyymm! Busy in Briz till 8:00pm,
  9. It was a good night, bummer half the turnout ran like thay had just robbed a petrol station when the "P" word was mentioned. Yeah that could have been me, my car is a really dark grey / purple but it looks black at night (see my avtar). Thanks to the guy who got the highway drive going, (sorry mate, I never got your name - white r33 with a black rear wing), we could have just stood around all night otherwise. I bugged out when we got to hail street, and went into the val, hope I did'nt miss much. It was good to meet a few of you, I still mised a few, maybe next time. Again next thursday? I only took a couple of pics, but they are not too bad. Here you go.
  10. I'll be there, never met anyone off the fourm so I prolly just wonder up and say g'day. I'll be in a black r33.
  11. I'm looking for a HKS intercooler kit if anyone is keen to give one away. LOL.
  12. I did a revs check before I bought mine, came back with all the records, no probs, r33 imported in 2001. registered in Oz.
  13. Read my review (post 18) and take a look at the pics (post 19), yes they come with everything from the turbo. Yes, $700 delivered. Yes, they are just as good quality as most systems that you could buy for $1500 or more. WTF?!?!
  14. That is a bummer to hear, mine arrived in 3 days, no prob. I bought mine off smtsydney ( I think his name was eric), same guy?
  15. A few people have asked for pictures of the installed system. Here you go.
  16. I'll be there.
  17. Just sort of answered my own question: Australian design rules: http://www.dotars.gov.au/transreg/str_adrindx.htm it's about $70 for a years subscription, if anyone wants to post up a link to a current version that would be great. Any know of a link to roadworthy requirements for Queensland?
  18. Can someone post up a link to where we can get these rules and regulations and our rights when it comes to cop's pulling us over. Basically any legal docs that we could use at the time in our defence. Sorry if this has been asked may times.
  19. Try put an auto around a race track, thats where they really start to suck. Go the manuals!
  20. I'll be in, depending on the plate design and cash flow at the time.
  21. Yeah, your right on the 2.5' SS bends, its just exhaust tubing. I was once looking for 3/8 mandrel bent SS with 0.8mm wall thickness for motorbike headers, that was hard to find. Somehow I got the two confused. duh! No one was willing to try and mandrel bend 0.8mm wall thickeness tube for a reasonable price, it just crumples up like ally foil.
  22. Duncan Was that in a R33 GTST?
  23. My guess, definatly not thicker than 2 mm in stainless, the pipes are not structural and the pressures are not high, they will just weigh too much if thicker than 2mm, thats why I would use ally. You will not find it easy to get 2.5 - 3 inch stainless steel mandrel bent pipes (ally would be eaiser to find).
  24. Intercooler piping should be cheap as anyway. For a mates car I just bought some preformed 3 inch 90 deg mandrel bent ally pipe and a couple of straight sections. Then measured and cut it up and took it down to a local fabrication shop to be welded. Polished it on a buffing wheel, laquered it, fitted in under 2 hours and thats it. Looks just as professional as anything I have seen and after 6 months on 15psi it's still working (and looking) like the day we installed it. So to answer the question, the best way to work out where things should go is get your pipe, start at the turbo side (or where you plan on starting your piping from) cut the pipe section, tape it in place (silver plumbers tape works really well), cut the next section and so on untill you get to the end of your pipe run. mark and number the sections then send them off to get welded. The other option is doing a detailed CAD model of the front of the car, draw in the piping then export the parts to a 2D construction drawing. First option is prolly eaiser for a one off. So I'd reccomend making your own piping, a hack saw, metal file, pipe vice (preferably), a bit of hand eye coordination and a scriber is all you really need. Lot cheaper, just as professional and this way you can tell all your mates you have custom intercooler piping
  25. What are peoples opinion on hard track running of a R33 with stock boost (constant 7psi by solenoid grounding)? Any idea on how long it would take for a CIC event?
