  1. Fantastic! That's exactly what I wanted to hear :-). I will also be running race fuel. The gearbox is a refreshed r33gtr item (better than the 32) I hope it is strong enough...
  2. Hey guys, I'm just about to dump my finished 26/30 into my 32gtr. I have a set of hks2530's from my old 26 to put on. I have been told these turbos are the equivalent to -5's. I want the car as a responsive track car. Do you think these turbos are a good match for my application? The bottom end is fully built and the head has been rebuilt with 262's in it. Cheers
  3. Thanks :-). Yes I understand all of that. My reason for starting this thread was to find the best place for the best price on a tomei or nitto pump. The thread just got a little side tracked that is all.
  4. Missing the point? Thanks, that is a huge help... Great explanation...
  5. Thanks guys! Yeh like I said not a huge difference. I'm leaning toward the nitto as it doesn't flo as much as the tomei from what I have herd. Don't want to create more oil issues :-).
  6. Hey guys I'm looking for a place with the best price on a nitto / tomei oil pump in Melbourne? Also people keep saying there is a big difference in price between to 2. But if eBay is anything to go by there isn't much of a difference at all... Am I missing something? Cheers
  7. Ok thanks, that's the only issue I'm finding with that pump... I was thinking maybe the nitto as they don't flow as hard. Best of luck with the build buddy. Keep up the quality you are putting into this Gtr and it will be one of the best rolling around :-). Cheers
  8. Cheers mate. Keep up the good work. Did they modify it to lower the pressure so you wouldn't run into oil controll issues? I've herd they can have to much pressure.
  9. What a fantastic build! I'm loving your attention to detail :-). I'm doing a 32gtr build myself. I'm wondering what oil pump you are using in the engine build? Cheers
  10. Hey guys and gals. I'm after an extend sump and baffle for an rb26 r/32/33. Any brand except for trust as they hang way to low. I'm located in Melbourne. Cheers, Jonathan
  11. Hmmmm yeh I would have thought the power would begin to die down around the 7000 mark as well. It is all well and good to rev it to 8500 but if it isn't pulling all the way tt 8500 it is useless.
  12. Yep that is why mine are going... Sounds great, great top end power but drives like shit...
  13. Got it. Thanks guys. I think with all the work done to the head and engine I would not be making to most of it by putting stock cams back in. Those mines cams seem like the go :-). Thanks guys!
  14. What are the specs on the cams you had made?
  15. Can anyone explain the duration to me??
  16. Sorry for my ignorance but what will extra lift do for engine response and performance? Keeping in mind I'm after maximum respond and meaty mid range.
  17. That is what would be happening. Just want to see what people have done with similar setup :-). Than I will make my decision on standard or mild aftermarket.
  18. I have just been going through this with a set of -5's. Spoke to a guy at Garrett and he said that everyone seems to think that Garrett turbos have built in restrectors but they DO NOT! And yes he also said thy should not flow more that 50 psi at full revs. Your turbos will run fine without it but you will shorten there life. He sold me 2 1mm restrectors that you pop into the oil line at the turbo. Problem is they are built for an M4 fitting and I don't think that will suit the standard oil line fittings... May need some new lines with some M 4 fittings. Cheers
  19. Does your car run out of puff at 7g because of the Standard cams? Or are the -5's big enoug to give you power all the way to 8g.
  20. Thanks guys! Just don't want to run the risk of doing the change and getting it wrong. It's all about getting as much response as possible while still running -5's.
  21. Do you think 260 will be a big enough difference? What would your opinion be on putting stock cams back in? To small?
  22. Hey guys and gals, I have made the decision to change my cams... At the moment I have hks step 2 272's with 10.2 lift. I'm changing because I want more response down low on the track instead of having to keep the revs up between 5g and 9g. So question is what cam size would you use? The head has had extensive work done, motor is fully built running -5's, running 98 octane and it's a 2.6. So I am after something that is going to match and make the most out of the engine and turbos for track use. I'm open to any suggestions. Cheers
  23. Yeh larger capacity isn't an option as this is already a fully built 26.
  24. Hold the phone guys! I just found the original receipt for the engine rebuild and they are not 280 cams! They are: HKS Camshafts (2202-RN130) Camshaft, Step 2 Individual Piece JDM Special Order Duration : 272 Lift : 10.2 Position : Intake
  25. Thanks for all your responses guys. I know the cams are to big (they were in when I got the car). I run semi slims and custom coilovers on the track. I'm not sure that corner speed is the problem. Eg on sandown in the tight section it feels like I should be cornering in third but find that to get good power down out of the corner I need to be in second. Second I need to rev the car to 9+g and third is a bit sluggish out. Would my engine specs help?
