if that's the case just leave it as is. No point in wasting $80 on oil if your getting another box in a few weeks. Cant find em, grind em.
When you get your new box, just run conventional gear box oil, not shockproof.
EBay. Around $20 a bottle. U will need 4. Depending where u live u may be able to pick up. Alternatively you can get tubes of nulon smooth shift that johnny suggested from supercheapshit auto.
Why does it only have to last a few weeks?
I hear you. Cops take the side of the crime these days. Friends of mine have used those no win no fee lyers before and I'm pretty sure the fee in the end was 15-20% of the settlement. Good luck with it all.
Add to that loss of income for however long it is. Up to you but I think it would be worthwhile talking to an independent lawyer and getting a professional opinion. You will then know where you stand.
I would be going to see one of those lawyer mobs like slater and Gordon, Maurice Blackburn etc. No win no fee. If they don't think you are entitled to any compensation they will let you know. I believe you will be entitled to a reasonable amount especially if you do end up losing your job. Definitely worth a try. Your injuries aren't what I would consider minor. At this stage you don't really know exactly how long it will take for your injuries to heal 100% and for you to be pain free.
Consider yourself lucky that at least the car seems to have turned out to be decent and giving you some joy. I guess there has been a lesson in all of this for you and you didn't get severely burnt in the learning process. Unfortunately most used car dealers are pretty dodgy, more so in the import world. In future when buying a used car buy on condition only and not on what some unscrupulous low life punk salesman is bull shitting you with. Best of luck and hope the car serves you well.
What car is it by the way?
