  1. I'll take a caliper off and have a look.
  2. Will do when the current pads bite the dust[emoji38]
  3. Obviously the problem still exists. It was only 2 weeks ago that the latest thread appeared about them. Your policy also is to only replace the one coil pack. Leaving the customer to waste their time and money to figure out which one. Some of the best tuners in australia will tell you how good your product is. They are sick and tired of not being able to finish tuning a customers car and having to tell them the coils are no good and they need to fork out for new ones and pay for more tuning time. Instead of disregarding what the experts are saying, maybe you should listen to them and develop a better product. Most people that are happy with yj's are running stock boost and even then they don't last. You say only 0.5% are returned. I wonder how many people dont bother trying to return them and just put them where they belong. There are so many threads on forums about these coils being bad, they can't all be liars or trolls as you say. These are the reasons sau guys steer newbies away from yj's. Sick of the inevitable thread "rb yj missfire" The consensus on sau is OEM or splitfire. That ain't gonna change any time soon. Maybe you should start selling those and you won't have to defend an inferior product.
  4. I have one of these too. Only problem is I've nearly killed my cat a few times[emoji38]
  5. Yep something along the lines of. Alloy rad like pwr one. Keeps engine cooler. Good for race. [emoji12]
  6. Only makes sense if u have a wreck that u got for fu*k all with all the required parts to raid. Still lots of work though. I still wouldn't do but each to their own.
  7. So did u drop price or did the right person come along? Or bit of both?
  8. it sounds like air in the system due to your coolant leak. Fix leaking hose/clamp first. U should be able to do that yourself, just takes a bit of time for that below manifold stuff, its not that hard. give it a go. Unlikely to be hg again unless engine was severely overheated or job done was dodgey. Don't freak out yet. Fix leak, thoroughly bleed system and monitor. Hopefully happy days and big skids.
  9. Yay[emoji122] [emoji106]
  10. Update. Shakedown at Sandown completed and im glad I live close by lol. I managed to complete 3 sessions during the course of the day. Most of my time was spent underneath the car. A few issues became apparent as the day unfolded. 1. oil leak after 2nd session 2. Brakes where not as good as I hoped 3. gearbox crunching 4th gear change 4. wasn't getting full boost. only 1 bar. The oil leak was discovered when I tried to head out for the 3rd session and oil was pissing out from underneath the car. It was from the oil feed line, I had run it too close to the turbo flange and cooked it. Luckily Rob from Sabbaddin automotive was around and fixed the line for me on the spot, thanks Rob . I then proceeded to re fit it the same way that it was originally . It only lasted 1 more session before it happened again and I called it a day. I think I just expected too much from the brakes as I am used to braking later in my old s15 which had bigger brakes too. I will try removing the dust shields and run some ducting at the next track day. The brakes didn't really fade, it was just not as much stopping power as I hoped. The gearbox crunching thing had me worried but after changing the oil yesterday I discovered that there was only 2.6 litres of oil in it. I wanted to change the oil prior to the day but didn't get around to it. I filled it with 3.5 litres of redline yesterday and it's silky smooth now. Serves me right for not getting around to it earlier. After fixing the oil line and wrapping it in heat proof material it became obvious that boost was running off wastegate pressure. A quick inspection of my mac valve revealed that 1 of the wires had snapped clean off. I managed to stuff the wire back in there and drop some solder on it. Beautiful boost control again. So that's all the bad stuff out of the way. The good news was that the oil and water temps where all good and the tyres performed well. My groups first session was cut short due to a broken down car on the track, so our second session was extended to 15 mins. I pretty much had the car going flat out for all but 1 min of that and the max water temp was 93 and oil was 108. The china cooling seems to have done the job. My times where not the greatest, I managed a best of 131.2 which is a fair bit slower than my pb of 128.2 in my s15. I am confident I will be able to match or beat that next time if I don't have more issues. I was probably losing 2 secs a lap on gear changes to 4th as I was pausing through the shift trying not to crunch and I was down on power because of the boost issue. I was struggling to hit 200 down the straights, I was expecting to match the s15's 215km/h down the back straight but was way off. Issues aside, overall im happy with the way the car handles and drives. Another shakedown is now in order. Im hoping to get to another track day soon. Watch this space.
  11. Yeah but he gets all the bling bling, tomei hks taxed parts. I would personally use Jesse Streeter for those type of parts but op did ask where in straya[emoji3]
  12. Sounds like its on the cusp of being in. Just prob needs a bit more wiggle jiggle. Unlikely the clutch plates have misaligned if you didn't touch them. I would try throwing a rope around the back end of the box and get someone inside the car to control the rope through the shifter hole, easier to adjust angle like that, while you are underneath trying to push it in. It will prob go in all the way when your trying the least. Make sure u have a bolt ready to go when it does. Lol.
  13. ^lol, tells it how it is
  14. Yeah I reckon 12.5 should be a breeze and a 12.0 with decent rubber and good launch. Good to hear you've tracked down the boost issue[emoji122] and hope the new actuator gives additional improvement[emoji106]
  15. +1 for kudos but if u must splash out on tomei or hks items cj motor can help relieve your wallet of funds.
  16. This thing going yet or what? Lol:)
  17. It ended up not being from the oil cooler setup. Was from the only proper braided Teflon speed flow fitted hose on the car. Turbo oil feed. User installation error, too close too turbo flange. Cooked it and made a pin hole in it. Rob sabbaddin happened to be around and fixed it up for me, shortened the hose and got me back out for another session. I again installed it the same way and it failed again. You live and you learn I suppose. I live just down the road from sandown and made sure the oil was topped up and cruised it home. Fixed it properly the following day. Now I just have gear box issues to worry about lol.
  18. Yep it was a pretty good day and well organised. Weather was also great. Thanks to all the organisers and volunteers who put the hours and effort in to make days like this possible. You guys are awesome and much appreciated.
