  2. Was the original manifold tight to get off? You'll probably find your manifolds are warped slightly. I had 4 manis in my spare parts pile. 2 of them wouldn't fit when i tried them. If replacing the studs doesn't fix the problem, you could try enlarging the bolt holes that require it as a quick fix and hope it bolts down good and doesn't leak. When i had asked an engineer at work about machining the face of the mani, he didn't recommend it and suggested heating it up and straightening it was the best solution, obviously requires special equipment. I ended up just binning it and using a good spare. Another thing you can try is removing the studs that are fouling, put the mani on and see if you can thread the studs in from the outside. If that doesn't work, at least you'll see how far out the holes are and how much to relieve.
  3. Will be fine down the straight unless your diff is single pegging.
  4. I have around the same power. I have 265/35/18 on all corners. Yokohama Ad08r street and nankang ar1 for track. Track grip is pretty good, a little throttle control is required on 2nd gear corners otherwise flatout is fine. On the street 265 Ad08r is still not enough with stiff coilovers to grip in 1st,2nd and sometimes 3rd. Your re003 have no chance. The only thing that improved grip immensely in the lower gears was stock rear shocks when i was troubleshooting other issues. This also has adverse effects on handling so is only good for drag racing though. My next move to find more grip will be 295 wide 18's. I have a proper diff too btw, helps but still need more.
  5. Gearbox porn
  6. Plumbed into the intake pipe as you described
  7. Series 1 only. Series 2 has a different colour and pattern.
  8. It's gonna happen eventually anyway, right. May as well... Maybe not.
  9. This is mine, 2 way of some sort i think.
  10. Yep, we're all in the same boat, literally. Lol
  11. This is exactly how I feel about it. I purchased the 33 as an I don't care car after binning an s15 at the track. Been thinking of cashing in and starting again. Problem is, anything semi capable as a track car is not cheap either, currently. It's kind of a good problem really. Settled on keeping the 33 and looking after it for now.
  12. I have a nismo set (rare) 100k + covid tax = 150k + nismo tax = 200k firm. I know what I've got, lol.
  13. I'll check my arsenal of tools and see if i have something that may be of use.
  14. Pic and rough size in mm of said locknuts
  15. Yes we need someone to test the service of claims, lol.
  16. I was prepared and just bought a deep slim socket from total tools when I did mine and had no issues. I think it's just a 3/8 drive and i used a 1/2 to 3/8 converter on the wrench.
  17. http://turbomotive.com.au/product/garrett-gtx2860r-gen-ii-t3-single-entry-external-gated/ Generic housings can be purchased through mamba/ebay If you're after true bolt on, you'll likely have to stay with your original hks idea.
  18. Can be bought with whatever housing and flange you want. Doubt you'll get one with a rb specific bolt on internal gate housing though. A mate of mine got one with a t3 and v band out housing.
  19. Garrett gtx2860 gen2 will easily get you there with ultimate response and would be my choice for your stated goal. Gtx2863 or 2867 gen 2 will give you heaps more in reserve if you want to push it more later but you'll need bigger injectors. If you want to do it on the cheap, a hypergear hi flowed rb25 turbo will get you there but won't be as responsive.
  20. Current craziness, 75k is fair for yours i think.
  21. Mines down for 19K. Sounds like we're all underinsured considering the current state of play. @GTSBoy you need to triple your value to be in the ballpark of a fair replacement.
  22. What sort of value are you guys being covered for with shannons?
  23. Enthusiasts may be cheaper depending on how many kms you plan on doing per year. Edit, since you say only weekend use, enthusiasts will be much cheaper, insure you for decent value and don't care about how many mods you have. I've never had to claim with them so can't comment on how good or bad they are when it comes to that.
  24. Shhh!
  25. It is a good engine to be fair. As long as idiots are paying big bucks for them I'm happy to say they're the best engine ever. RB stands for race bred mofos. Show me the money.
