2nd hand adaptronic select if you can find one. $6-800 plenty of features for the $. Has built in map sensor that can handle decent boost, air temp sensor is advisable but not totally necessary. Only negative is they run wasted spark and the software can be a little tricky.

Should I sell my Skyline for a 4wd
admS15 replied to Blakeo's topic in General Automotive Discussion
You can add front diffs to that list too. I personally dont like them either. I think people like them because of the way they drive and look. They handle pretty good for a little truck. Google moose test for a hilux and then compare that with a Ranger. Most of the tradies who buy them don't really give a shit, ford fixes them under warranty and they update them every few years and claim it as a company cost. In all honesty just about every brand has issues with cars, some worse than others. For every car that someone has had a positive experience with someone has had a negative. My own experience with my wifes ford focus and it's powershit transmission means i would never ever consider any sort of ford ever again. Ever. -
Should I sell my Skyline for a 4wd

Nissan Patrol with an RB25/30 swap. You need to keep a little Skyline and Nissan in your life. Out of the dual cab 4x4's i think the Ford Ranger is still top dog. The new hilux has serious dpf issues, they are often seen blowing excessive smoke. I wouldn't touch one. I recently bought an Audi Q7 V6 diesel. Goes well, has 7 seats, can tow over 3T, is fairly capable off road, has factory air suspension with lift function and is a real nice place to be. So comfy, It feels like im driving my couch. 0-60 is pretty impressive too, quatro launches with 500+ nm = big smile. I get back in my skyline after driving it and thank god i dont have to drive the Audi everday. Its a good thing but skylines are the holy grail of motoring enjoyment (•‿•) -
GTX3076R GEN II VS GTX3576R GEN II on RB26
admS15 replied to joe89's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Nice response, thats pretty much as good if not better than my little high flow 21u in 2nd gear. So when are you going to full tuna it on the dyno? -
Ls1 ls1 ls1...
-
A stock vl turbo setup will make around 250 whp when tuned. Around 300hp at engine. Bigger injectors, turbo, more boost will make more + nitrous, dont forget the nos, 2 of the big ones.
-
Leave everything as is, add vl exhaust manifold, turbo, injectors, ecu and call it a day. Easy way out.

400whp on e85 is a walk in the park for an RB25. Your oil leak is more likely to be from the rocker cover gasket or half moon seal rather than head gasket. Rear main and oil pan gasket, theres quite a few hours of labour there. Gearbox rebuild is around 2k, new box is around $3200 or you can just refill it with redline oil which will make it feel better. I don't know why you'd want to rebuild the engine if oil leaks are the the only issue. I can understand if you have real low or uneven compression or some other serious problem. My own rb25 has been making 420 rwhp on e85 for a few years now. Done over 30 track days where it gets completely flogged. Compression is still really good, i recently had the head off, everything looked in good knick, could still see factory hone marks on bores. Valves and guides where in great condition, as was the 23 year old head gasket. The only thing that wasn't great was one of the valve stem seals. IMHO if it aint broke dont fix it. If you really want an engine, there is an Sau member selling a forged rb25 for 3k. I suppose it's up to you how much you like your car whether it's worth it or not to get it back up to scratch. Personally i wouldn't be rebuilding unless i really had to or was aiming to increase power substantially.

How about asking wolf for a base map. They should have something on their database.
