  1. your too right mate im my line of work we design and manufacture products once the hard work has been done and all the plans are made, it is easy to copy it, you can make a good copy or a crappy copy you can get some indication from the quality by the reputation of the re seller and the support they promise a reputable re seller will not stock garbage (you would hope) and in my head, whats the worst that could happen, it will crack, its not like its gonna explode and kill me and everyone in the car
  2. it looked good to me, he claims a life time warranty (which may or may not be 100% true its ebay after all) i was asking for advice, not to get told that i dont know anything boys, be human for a second, if i thought that i knew everything, why would i come online and ask questions im happy to hear of better ways to do things, that way i will build a better car, btw, this idea has progressed into a new project, i have decided to throw a VR38 into the r32 i started a new thread,
  3. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOG-Steam-Pipe-NISSAN-SKYLINE-R32-R33-R34-GTR-RB26-T4-TOP-MOUNT-EXHAUST-MANIFOLD-/131293507130?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item1e91b3ee3a
  4. ill put an add on seek Magicians wanted, automotive experience necessary
  5. wow you guys are really critical have you ever heard of collaborating you cannot do everything on your own i have different guys making different things all these components have to come from somewhere gearbox adapter plate custom CV chafts custom tail shaft custom exhaust ECU wiring throttle bodies inter cooler piping custom engine mounts custom bonnet fuel setup custom panel beating the engine bay (big hammer) you want me to make all that on my own, ill be here for the rest of my life so i have found the best guys in each area to help me out sorry if i spread the work around my guys have certain skills, they cant do everything now if i said i had a team of magicians, thats a different story
  6. i spoke to a custom garage today, he is doing some numbers and getting back to me, he is extremely confident, and has done things like this before, not the exact same, but swapping engines with jap turbo cars
  7. boys, you know its really cheap and easy to get an engineer to sign off on the job you like to make things hard on yourself
  8. I like good ideas as much as the next guy. Here is 1 for you. Buy a 35. At least you'll be able to drive it. Either way, this isn't a build thread. where is the fun in that
  9. it might be hard for you to understand but you need to know how big the hole is, and then you need to have a reference point for the front diff so it helps to measure a standard engine mate its people like you that persecuted galileo
  10. read carefully, i measured the engine bay and the RB engine
  11. how much power do you usually need to get low 10s? also how long is a piece of string?
  12. so would it make everyone happy if i throw some forged internals, cams, bigger turbo and got it tuned is that what the worlds wants,
  13. so what im seeing here laws of physics are against me, it wont fit budget is against me, it will be expensive government is against me, it prob wont be allowed on the road and now its clear why no one has done it before, lol
  14. legal stuff, hmm never really looked into that i usually just drive around till i get pulled over, lol
  15. you sir are on another level im brave but not that brave but that would be a rocket, i recently stripped and rebuilt a 4G engine, they are actually pretty cool
  16. street, track, drag, in the world of AWD cars its a little fuzzy what i want, a car to race on the street, currently i have finished subaru liberty GT pumping out nearly 300KW at the wheels its a very fast car and its so usable on the street, and i can takedown some more powerful rear drive cars on the street (while they sit on the start line in a cloud of smoke) i was thinking of making that more powerful until i found this skyline now im inlove, i have to get it on the road, it deserves it but i want it to be fast, 10sec passes if possible, (yes i know this is easy with a rb26) but the larger the engine we use the less lag we will get, RB26 is a GREAT engine, RB30s are great too but they can be hit or miss, a VR38 will be reliable, it will be fast, it will be upgrade able now ive been talking to the guy in Europe that has put the vr38 in his r32 he said it was a bitch, and i will lose the power steering and aircon, he says it will be a drag car, and we cant really argue, he has done it it wont stop me from trying, but i will make me look into all this before we start everything is possible, its just how much money we want to throw at it
  17. quick question boys inittaly i will run the car on the stock gearbox till i get it running right then the gearbox will explode, thats nearly guaranteed which way should i go, im thinking OS GIKEN gear set anyone have any better ideas, i still want a normal car, no dogbox or sequential
  18. FARK, im looking for 10s this bloke is hitting 7s ,
  19. the reason he has a custom radiator support is to help him fit those giant turbos, his custom inter cooler and the radiator in new locations mick is right, the strut towers are still untouched im running stock turbos, if they fit in the tunnel that is as the vr38 V6 is shorter than the rb26 inline 6 in the north south direction, there will be plenty of room to run the piping
  20. we could have a bonnet with a big bump if needed
  21. NOW THATS THE REASON I POSTED big thanks mate your search skills are MUCH better than mine, things we learnt from that video, IT BLODDY FITS, ITS AWD, he has slicks on the front the is actually alot more room than i expected now im much more confident i can make it work IM BUYING THE ENGINE YOU LEGEND !!!
  22. i thought the haltech would be ok too, but i rang haltech and they said i would need to convert over to a cable system there is a way to go around this and keep the electronic throttles but the 4wd system in the r32 will work better with a traditional TPS this is what the guy from the ecu wiring company said as for the inter coolers, i will make it fit, the block is shorter and the radiator fan is gone the one i will use to replace it will be slimmer there should be enough room for a custom setup im pretty good with cad and i have a team of fabricators that are good at welding pipe working for me
