  1. they have both. if the handbrake isn't tight enough because the shoes are worn, you need to use the adjuster on the drum brake. I don't think sklyine rear brakes have a self adjuster mechanism -- which cars with rear drum brakes have - so i think this is why u have to manually adjust them. If it's just the cable has stretched abit and you want less clicks, you can probably get away with the incabin adjustment.
  2. Just thought i'd add, since it's on topic. replacement spherical rod ends are fairly inexpensive, provided the brand you use doesn't have a proprietory type of bearing. I had to replace an end on a D-max Tension rod on one of our drift cars. This was *not* due to excessive wear, the rod end was damaged when the car was involved in an accident. I have a supplier who can provide exact replacement bearings for the d-max suspension stuff (the blue ones similar to pic sydney kid used in his original post), for a reasonable price (around $25-30 or so). If anyone needs to get some, please PM me. Any suspension component will wear out and require replacing, bushes will also wear out eventually and require replacement. Anyway, getting replacement spherical ends isn't as hard as you make it sound (I purchased the one in the above picture today...) I can only speak for the d-max stuff (which is one of the brands garage-13 sell) as it's the only brand i've tried to get replacements for, but i don't imagine other brands will be much different
  3. As per thread title, Im in melbourne, but happy to pay for postage. Must be in good shape. Please PM or post in thread Cheers, Tim
  4. Perhaps ask alex for an explanation. But in my experience the Tien adjustable castor rods (with speherical bearings) I use in my own car have lasted for around 8 months of regular drifting (at least once a week), and are still ok. They were purcahsed second hand after quite a few years of use. Having the team logo in my sig seems to be causing me a bit of grief. I have removed it, does it make you feel better now?? I am not sponsored, we are just a bunch of friends who drift. That's it. similar to Team Wang i suppose Are whitline suspension components adr approved? (this is not rhetorical, i'm curious). The reason why I'm asking, is I went to get a wheel alignment, and wanted to adjust castor. And one of the guys who I went to refused to do it, because he said that "Running non-stock castor changes how the car handles, and we can't do it for liability reasons since it isn't legal" Also, on the liability http://www.whiteline.com.au/docs/articles/...usp_02_0213.pdf is a whitline interview with someone from whiteline, which i think is relavent in this case. as it goes back to the legality issue. when asked "how do insurance companies view modifications?" "That's a difficult one. Technically, everything that people like ourselves, Pedders and all the rest of us do is illegal. When people ask if a mod legal, I have to say 'no'. The reality is, though, everybody's been doing it forever and a day." is the reply. Really someone who sells some of the whiteline stuff can be up for the same problems with sponsors selling speherical bearing gear.
  5. Sydney Kid, I apologise if I have offended you. My request for clarification, obviously was taken as an insult to yourself by some posters in this topic. Not by yourself, since you haven't commented. My requst to clarify a couple of things were reponded by. These quotes to me, suggest that I am posting because I have a financial interest. They also suggest that I am contravening the trade practices act. Due to their imflammitory nature, to defend myself, I pointed out, that I do not sell any of these products and I also pointed out that Sydney Kid has more of a financial interest than i do. So, the comment about affecting sales can also apply to him (more so than myself). I don't see a double standard here? If you have a problem with alex's post, quote him rather than me. But from what I can see, he was agreeing with SK
  6. ok, relax man. I'm not trying to start an argument, I'm just explaining myself. I don't doubt that SK has a lot of experience in this area, and his advice and contribution to the forum has been invaluable. But, he does have a financial interest -- which is why i am sceptical - and some of the things he has been saying in his article and posts in this thread seem contradictory to me. which is why I posted for clarification.
  7. yes, i fixed my problem months ago. it was the afm.
  8. top stuff, good to hear mate. This seems to be a common problem.
  9. no, i just drift as part of garage-13 team, i don't make any money. It is not my business. I sold a couple of things a while ago before i was affiliated with g13, but no longer do. I have never sold anything on nissansilvia.com also like to note, i think they sell adjustable bush ones aswell. So it's not about profit stealing here. If you're after some bushes, you can contact alex as he gets swaybars from whiteline and can probably get other stuff, but u need to talk to him about it (garage-13 on the forum, or in sponsor section). I don't believe he is not making a profit from the group buy, because I have seen some of the sponsors selling the whiteline adjustable sway bars, for around $40 cheaper than the group buy. So either SK is adding a margin, or the price he is getting from whiteline is fairly poor. I'm not here to try and sell stuff. I really am considering changing my sig. But Ok, here are the reasons I'm being sceptical: 1. Admitted adjustable arms are better for track only, contradicting thread title. Seems confusing 2. SK is selling whiteline suspension stuff on group buy. of course he is going to promote his products 3. If any sponsor on the forum started a thread dissing other sponsors products, their thread would have been locked 4. The article doesn't cite any references, and their is no evidence of any sort of controlled testing of various products.
  10. No actually, I do not sell anything on these forums. Though, I could say exactly the same about Sydney Kid, since he's selling the bush style adjustable suspension components. And by the looks of things he's posting pics up of his competitors products and bagging them. Isn't that against fair trading practices?? I don't have financial interest in this argument, I just want clarification as I want to make the best decision for my personal car. And I also want to be clear that the thread author isn't misleading us in order to sell his own products! Don't take that comment as inflammitory, just thought it needed to be said. Everyone on the forum appreciates your advise SK, which is very valuable, and in most cases spot on. But since you have a financial interest due to your group buy, these things should be mentioned.
  11. this contradicts your thread title. It seems as though the purpose of you posting this thread, is bagging out spherical bearings, however now you say that they are better (if the car is only to be used on the track). e.g.. spherical bearings are better than bushes Though your tyhread title is "What Is Wrong With Adjustable Arms, Why bushes are better" This is confusing to me, becuase the way you have worded the thread title, makes it sound like "throw your spherical bearings in the bin..." So, to summarise, this is how I understand what you are saying. Looking at the way the affect the handling of the car, and adjustability. Ignoring if they are used on road or not. - Spherical bearings are better However, they are bad, because they wear out faster on road, aren't legal, and need to tighten bolts regularly
  12. http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b59439749 http://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/79950466 http://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/81547231 http://page13.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r20220262 http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f37817951 just did a quick search on yahoo auctions, if you are interested in bidding on some from japan, let me know I can arrange it. Most of the above are around 50,000 - 75,000 yen which is about $1,200-$1,650 for a set for good quality 2nd hand
  13. zac used to be a dealer for buddy club and could get P1's new fairly cheap, though i just checked his site today, and he doesn't have prices anymore. Try contacting him. He has a sponsor section on the forum or check out http://www.slidewizeimports.com/
  14. can you separate? i already have front bar
  15. hey mate, what price for a set of vertex skirts for 4-door r32?
  16. try going to the gym :-p just do it with key in lock position, so it locks the steering wheel. It'll be sweet. I've done it on a few cars before, never had lock break or anything
  17. personally, i'd run the 17x9 and 17x8 combination. Sydneykid would be a good person to ask, as he has a lot of experience, but I think I remember him mentioning that they use 17's most of the time. sidewall flex is not really what you are after, let the suspension do that for you. It just adds an element of unpredictability. I can only really speak from a drift point of view, but i remember running 15's for a while with massive sidewalls (just when i was learning to drift and didn't want to worry about hitting gutters..), and compared to nice wide 17's with low-profile tyres, it was really bad. my r32 came from japan with 17x8 and 17x9's, and they feel about right. I've used many different combinations, (16x8, 16x7, 17x7/8, 18x9/10 etc.) and I like the 17's the best. Perhaps wait until the suspension kit arrives, try both combinations out and see how you go.
  18. usually fronts will come off easily without too much force I had to use those bolt holes for the rear, because the handbrake makes it hard (even with handbrake off...)
  19. hang on, thread asks how to remove rotors... -remove caliper (2 bolts on back that bolt it to hub) (place caliper somewhere with it still connected to brake line -pull brake rotor towards you. That's it... rears can be hard due to drum handbrake, there are 2 bolt holes where you can screw in bolts to push the rotor off. it will be impossible to fit *longer* rear studs without taking the hub apart, due to the drum brake assembly being in the way.
  20. mate?? what is your point....?? did you have this problem or are you just posting for the heck of it?
  21. i saw the bazza's bowser thingo's at Matchbox in southland (3rd level in new section). Can't remember price, but was a lot cheaper coz they're having a closing down sale. didn't see and NOS bottle ones though.
  22. mate, the poster was asking for people *opinions* on ice. good/BAD/average I was posting my opinion, so get over it
  23. i wouldn't trust ice with my car... won't go into it, but a couple of friends had bad experiences with them.
