Aftermarket Wheels for R32 GTS-T
MerlinTheHapyPig replied to Haysey's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
yeah sticking out the guards is due to offset. 18's go alright, but for general handling 17's with a decent width are plenty. 17x8 for front and 17x9 for rear are a very nice combination, and fairly common on skylines. (in appropriate offset). and is what I run usually (however due to drift, usually 17x8's on front and *whatever* on rear) e.g. (hehe love posting these pics of my car, 18x9's on front and 18x10 -1 offset on rear (they work once you attack the guards with a guardroller) -
HICAS problem!
MerlinTheHapyPig replied to Psymon's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
most of the problems people have with HICAS are due to fitting an aftermarket steering wheel wihch doesn not have the correct hicas sensors. perhaps your car deciding to steer itself at 100kms is *because* there is a problem with the boss kit?!? -
compression results on r33 then sumfing went wrong after?
MerlinTheHapyPig replied to 5ky's topic in General Maintenance
those compression readings aren't too good. not sure what's wrong though (check that you've replaced crossover pipe properly, there may be a couple of earth wires going to some of the bolts that hold crossover pipe on -not sure on rb25det, but worth a shot).. can't remember where ignition module is on rb25det, but on rb20's it's on one end of the coil pack cover. check that! (plugs & earth wires etc.) check coil packs & the plugs (and spark plugs). also i hope you didn't drop one of the coil packs coz that can kill 'em. also if u dropped a sparkplug, may have changed the gaps (a long shot, but though i'd suggest everything that comes to mind) how did you do compression test? did you remove all spark plugs, and fuel pump fuse and crank engine. was it warm or cold? should be warm if compression varies it is bad. I'd say less than about 130 psi is bad compression. I think that's what nissan manual says. (165psi is normal, anything below 130 is bad) who knows what's gonna happen to the engine, get a mecahnic to perform a proper leak down test or whatever on it, and that will tell you where the compression is leaking from & what's wrong with the engine. what made you do a comp test in the first place? has the engine been running badly? -
If anyone has any queries over my legitimacy in this affair, feel free to PM me and we can discuss it. It's hard to tell if you are implying that I am Cefiro_PWA, feel free to compare my post history to his, you'll find that the two of us have quite different ways of writing. Everyone who I trade with receives my full name, mobile number, bank account details. and everything I ship has a return address, and also a Tax Invoice. -Tim K (also all the pumps I sell have "WALBRO" and model numbers and PAT numbers stamped on them)

s13 braking upgrade
MerlinTheHapyPig replied to khairul's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
to do it properly, you need to do a 5-stud conversion. this involves replacing the hubs, rotors, calipers with Skyline components also, skyline rears have drum brake for the handbrake, opposed to s13's which use a cable to operate the caliper for handbrake. i'm sure there is a cheapo way of doing it, perhaps you can re-drill r32 gts-t rotors for 4-stud or something, but i wouldn't recommend it. -
I just got a reply from a seller in the US for these pumps. (different supplier from the one I use) I asked him if all the Walbro's he sells have the model number stamped on them. And he said "Tim, These are original Walbro fuel pumps with the stamping and pat number on each pump. I know about the guy who sells those counterfit Fuel Pumps these are completely original Walbro straight from the US factory" It's probably a case that the counterfit pumps are made in the same factory! but I still think people should be getting exactly what they paid for. Though anyway, I guess this confirms that there are counterfit pumps floating around. It's also possible to get the pump without the pipes and hose clamps. The pump can be purchased from Walbro cheaper by itself. The "install kit" adds like $3US for a clamp and $5 US for a hose! so some sellers won't bother with these, given that they can be purchased locally for much less.

lol, he used to buy "genuine" walbro pumps of the same guy i get them from, but he found a cheaper price. It's funny to hear that the cheaper price is because they aren't genuine... there are a few versions of walbro's. cefiro_pwa may have supplied you with one of the lower-quality ones model numbers: 190L/hR GSS250/278 190L/hr High Pressure F20000141 255L/hr GSS315/7 255L/hr High Pressure GSS341/2 The ones I am selling, are Walbro GSS-341 255L/HR High Pressure which are a direct replacement for Nissan Skylines and Silvias/180sx's

Pollen Filter & Gearbox oil
MerlinTheHapyPig replied to greentea5's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
skylines love redline mt-90 gearbox oil (some people also use redline lightweight shockproof) -
what wheels are these???
MerlinTheHapyPig replied to lowflyer's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
yeah, why would you use 16x7's on a GTR when gtr's are stock 16x8?? -
Ok, I've been asked for pics of what the Walbro pumps are ment to be... they are a lot smaller than a stock fuel pump, but bigger doesn't necessarily mean better!! the body of the pump measures approx 10cm x 4cm (not including plug & fuel feed lines) It should have stamped on the body: This is for Walbro GSS-341 255L/hr High Pressure fuel pump. It has a black top. there are other model walbro's which have different model numbers! Here are pics of what you should get when you order one. (I took these this afternoon). Hope this helps guys! -TK

they should come in a plastic bag, with a separate plastic bag which contains: - Install Instructions - Sock Filter - Electrical Connector, - 2 Hose Clamps - Piece of hose - Rubber thing that goes on bottom of pump to hold sock filter in I was contacted by this guy, who was claiming that he sells them to the guy I buy them from. However this isn't the case, as we get them directly from the US. I guess the price he was offering was too good to be true!! CEFIRO_PWA is on the bad traders list aka mines_datsun, redfc, doridori32. His contact details are listed, for anyone who cares to contact him about the matter. I can't believe this has happened again, this scam artist has been ripping people off for ages. Perhaps some of the people who have been ripped off by this guy should unite....

i've sold all pumps in current order, and I'm ordering more. however as of today, price is back at $165 + $10p/h for any further orders. (I got a bulk discount on the last lot of pumps, but unfortunantly couldn't get the same deal this time). sorry if there is any inconvenience, anyone who has expressed interested in a pump to date, I will still sell at quoted price.

R32 gtst 4 door Rim sizes
MerlinTheHapyPig replied to tstg23r's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
^ those are pics of my r32 4dr with SSR Gartmiers. fronts are 18x9 and rears are 18x10. something like +1 offset i think.. (use wheel offset calculator http://marksink.com/tire_wheel_offset/offset.html to work out what offsets will work) I had trouble with the fronts, as they were scrubbing on edge of the guards. This could have been avoided by raising the car slightly (front is pretty low, stock would probably be alright) and lower profiles on the tyres, and a bit of guard rolling. Rears had to be rolled and flared to run 10's, but mainly coz of the offset had them out the guards I original had SSR Integral A2's 17x9 and 17x8 (Can't remember offset) and they were fine without flaring or lipping etc. be careful with flaring the 4-dr's if you have access to a guardroller. They are alright, you just have to be careful with the rears because the door is close. You also get a slight bubble at the edge of the door, but i'm going to get a panel beater to fix that up.
