  1. Glad I have a sparky in the family, turns out the problem was dry joints on the circuit board of the relay next to the motor, invisible to the naked eye. Will post up some pics and tips for roof liner removal shortly. Blek, got the same issue with my passenger seat electric switches cutting out, job for another day.
  2. Finally got off my arse and removed the headliner, thanks Andrew from Muscle Motor Trimmers for some pro tips. I'm getting power up to the last plug before the motor and while holding the sunroof open switch on, if you tap the motor housing with a screwdriver it works. This would tie in with Scott's theory that the brushes in the motor are had it. Gonna get an electrically minded relative to confirm my diagnosis then look to replace it.
  3. Matt contact your local ombudsman or consumer affairs but you're going to have to prove that it was like that witihin the period of RWC being issued.
  4. Okay so it appears I'll be winging it on this one if noone else has had the issue. Will let you guys know how it goes and might take up one of the offers for a new motor if that is indeed the problem.
  5. Hi Chaps, My trouble started as an intermittent fault particularly in warmer weather but has gotten worse to the point where it generally doesn't work. When I hit the switch I can hear what I assume is the relay clicking in the roof liner near the main cabin light. Giving the roof liner a thump with my fist got it going again a few times. Based on advice given it's most likely either a dry joint somewhere between relay and motor, or the brushes in the motor are gone. Question 1 has anyone else had this and got a suggestion? Question 2 how do I go about getting the roof liner out neatly?
  6. Sadly we've had to cancel the event. Thanks to those who got on board, hopefully we can reorganise and run a track day later in the year.
  7. You can get the forms for a CAMS licence from the CAMS website or you can just get the AASA form on the day (it costs $50 whereas the CAMS licence is $100).
  8. It is bad but we've jumped to 21 today with a few more on the way.
  9. Thanks for the well wishes and I understand life gets in the way of having a good time We have had a good response today and hopefully if tomorrow is good as well we can proceed!
  10. Lol Odium We have had a good response today, if we can get a similar day tomorrow we will likely be able to proceed!
  11. Pains me to say this guys but if we can't get some more entries by Thursday then we will have to scrub the event.
  12. Pains me to say this guys but if we can't get some more entries by Thursday then we will have to scrub the event.
  13. As Odium said we were talking about public liability and no there is no insurance on the track. That said, I've NEVER seen a car hit a wall or other car during practice days, it's more mechanical failures that you have to worry about.
  14. Hey Alex, We've received several MelbS15 entries but tbh currently I'm still very short of entries to get it happening, heaps of "yeah I'll be there" but I can't fork out to pay Winton based on those.... Many thanks for your efforts getting people involved from your group.
  15. Tsk, tsk Scotty sounds like you need a spoonful of cement to harden up
  16. We have tweaked the day: Cost locked in at $140 Cars only, capped at 70 entries Interest is high, verbal confirmations are high, entry forms received are LOW To make the day proceed we need confirmed entries so if you know you're coming or have a query about the day we want to hear from you!
  17. Hey Evan, terrific to hear look forward to receiving your application. Good question to ask, interest is high, verbal confirmations are high, entry forms received is LOW. If you are coming please get those forms in to ensure the day does go ahead. We have tweaked the event: -Cars only, capped at 70 entries -Cost locked at $140
  18. Did you price in bikes (and the air curtain) and all the insurance bits? The track has been booked by my friend so I can't comment directly Nismoid as I don't know the exact figures but overwhelming feedback on this and other forums is that the price is very good. There are other costs than the track too such as getting two fourbies with car trailers up there to try and prevent people getting stranded and as stated any money left over will be put towards the next day. GTTR34, this is the minimum requirement of Winton and AASA. When it comes to safety on the track I am happy to defer to their experience of their own track in setting out the minimum guidelines. It is mentioned in several places that an extinguisher is HIGHLY recommended as it literally is you or your car that is going to burn.
  19. Nismoid, mind if I ask when you last booked Winton? Track is costing us $10k, let me reiterate we are not doing this for profit we're just a couple of enthusiasts wanting to get people together. Hopefully if this day goes well the next day we do will be PI and IF there is extra cash we will put it towards subsidising that.
  20. Hey Chaps, Don't mean to pester but now the Christmas pudding is settled and the fireworks are all gone I was hoping we might see a few completed entry forms and deposits?
  21. Hey Rudi, I've done Melbourne - Sydney and about to make the return trip. Overall economy was pretty much 10L/100km, with air conditioning on for much of the way. I estimate the tank is capable of closer to 700km if you really pushed it out. I filled in Melbourne and refilled in Goulburn. Car was also quite happy running on 95RON as far as I could tell, no pinging as it cruised along the freeway.
  22. Helmet yes Fire extinguisher is NOT required - it is however, highly recommended Club Membership not required Licence can be bought on the day and is HALF THE COST of a cams licence As you can see this is a fantastic chance particularly for first timers to have a go at a track as the costs are so low. robs33 plenty of spots left, look forward to hearing from you.
  23. Hopefully not if we get every car club in Victoria involved hehe.
  24. May the peace and joy of Christmas be upon you and your families today. Drive safe all.
