Whispbars looked nice but being a tightarse I got the slightly cheaper P bars also from ProRack. Can confirm they're excellent, mount well and are of very sturdy construction. Only four bolts to mount/dismount so you don't have to drive around like a tool in an SUV with his roofracks on all the time. Also if you're interested in a cargo net....send me a PM, if you want something in particular I can probably customise the design too.

Longinus you're welcome. Hope to see you there, don't be scared to invite your mates!

Hey Emts thanks for raising this. As you say $140 is bargain basement for a track day with so few entrants and we are promoting hard to make sure we get our 80 entrants. However, as we're private organisers doing this not for profit, if there are less entrants then we may need to raise the price to help cover this. It would be a last resort to raise prices and we aren't going to refuse refunds of a deposit if the cost becomes beyond somebody's budget. Hope this all makes sense, as I said we're here to organise a day of fun not make money. Any more questions people may have don't hesitate to ask!

As the sessions are open and the laps are short you can just come in cool off a bit then go out again. How did you go at Sandown?

I'm in with the MR2 but that was kind of given. Alex if you're not planning on doing other CAMS motorsport can I suggest you grab the entry form and consider a AASA license instead? Lasts a year, still accepted by many tracks and costs half as much as a CAMS L2S license. Would greatly appreciate the deposits sooner rather than later, as I'm sure you can understand it helps us sort out the EOI's from the genuine entries. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

I've now invited the rest of SAU, also the forms had some minor revisions so if you've already downloaded them could you just redownload them here. Sorry to be a pain.

Professional Engine Flush Advice
180Shauny replied to luthepa1's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Interesting to see the posts above, is it Diesel or Diesel engine oil you should use? Or is it either? -
Hello All, This event was orginally posted on the Stagea subforum but I thought now that the awesome Nissans are invited I should extend the invite to the rest As the title says date is Monday 25th of February and we are going to have timing on the day as an extra incentive. Winton also accept AASA licenses as well as the normal CAMS ones. This is going to represent a cash saving of about $50 for anyone who doesn't already have a license. At this stage we're looking for a deposit of $50 to secure your spot. All entrants/passengers will enter entirely at their own risk, vehicles will be subject to scrutineering prior to being allowed on the track. All car types welcome provided they are safe. There will be a group for bikes too. Please follow the link to the MR2 Club website to download the forms. Post up or PM me if you have any queries. http://mr2club.com.au/vic/?page_id=4

I have a spare floating around. 99% sure it's a Stagea key but will need some instructions on confirming this, PM me if you're interested.

I look forward to showing you the benefits of inherent balance........I do understand about NIssans though as so many bits are interchangeable, Silvia of some sort? An R33 GTST? GTR if you're really cashed up?
-
Alex if you want an epic, reliable and cheap track car go for an MR2. The NA might lack outright pace but in terms of cornering speed not much comes close. Of course if you don't care about reliability get the turbo...

Awesome to see you guys coming down.

Cruise Control Sales/install - Melbourne
180Shauny replied to 180Shauny's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Ironic I know, it was the DIY install that scared me away initially hence setting up the thread. Now I can drive to Sydney nice and easy, can't wait to see just how good the fuel economy will be when you don't have to stop/start. I'm hoping for 10L/100km, really depends on whether it's boosting or not at 110km/h. -

Scott reckons the big difference is that this one didn't have to be calibrated afterwards. It sort of drops revs slightly as it cuts in but not too badly. -

So Freeway Car Audio decided they couldn't do a drive by wire Stagea (meaning an M35) and I ended up buying Chris Rogers cruise control. Installed it today with some guidance from Scotty and a phone call to Chris, instructions were good and it was actually remarkably plug and play but don't take that to mean it was a walk in the park. I wouldn't advise doing it solo without some research first and/or someone who can navigate underneath the dash of a Stag. Having done it once I'm sure either Scotty or myself could do it in an hour so drop us a PM if you need some guidance. The unit itself is a neat fit into the car, functionally it's not quite as refined as one might expect from the factory but is nevertheless a good unit that gives basic cruise functionality (set, resume, accel, decel, cancel). I would recommend it to any others who may search up this post in the future. Thanks again to Scotty and Chris. -

I figured it might help a few Northern Vic/Southern NSW people out.

Sadly Phillip Island have waited until now to tell us there is nothing available until May. So we have changed the venue to Winton, date remains the 25th of February and we are going to have timing on the day as an extra incentive. Cost should be down considerably too, I'm estimating around $150 each based on 80 people. Winton also accept AASA licenses as well as the normal CAMS ones. This is going to represent a cash saving of about $50 for anyone who doesn't already have a license. We will also be looking to provide a couple of car trailers in the hope of getting any breakdowns/crashed cars home rather than stranding them in Benalla. At this stage we're looking for a deposit of $100 to secure your spot. If you haven't already registered your interest please do so and I'll contact you with firm details and the supp regs.

Eoi Phillip Island - Private Booked Day
180Shauny replied to 180Shauny's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
It saddens me greatly to tell you all but the PI circuit have waited until now to tell us there is nothing available until May. So we have changed the venue to Winton, date remains the same and we are going to have timing on the day as an extra incentive. Cost should be down considerably too. I will start a new thread to avoid confusion. -

Eoi Phillip Island - Private Booked Day
180Shauny replied to 180Shauny's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Date: Monday 25th February 2013 Details: We will take a minimum of 40 people and a maximum of 80. This will afford bucket loads of track time for all entrants. Entrants will be streamed into groups based on lap times and these groups may be condensed later in the day. We also hope to accommodate passengers either in the form of passenger sessions or throughout the day. This will be confirmed pending discussions with CAMS. The MR2 Club have agreed to provide some logistical support but this day is a private booking. All entrants/passengers will enter entirely at their own risk, vehicles will be subject to scrutineering prior to being allowed on the track. Licensing: A CAMS Level 2 Speed license is required, this license is obtained simply by filling out paperwork there is no training requirements. All car types welcome provided they are safe. There will be a group for bikes too. Cost: $175 per entry based on 80 people. Please bear in mind that we are just two blokes organising the day so the costs may vary as we can't predict exactly how many will turn up. What now? If you want to do this we are going to be after a $100 deposit to secure your place. We have given lots of notice so you can plan the event in. If you do plan to come we would really appreciate you committing sooner rather than later to help get all this organised. More info including Supp Regs to come.
