Eoi Phillip Island - Private Booked Day
180Shauny replied to 180Shauny's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Yes there will be a bike group. There is no restriction on vehicles as long as they are safe. Scotty yes you should be interested, I'll have the Kleenex on standby in case you blow the gearbox up again.... -
Hello All, A friend and I are looking to set up a private booking of the GP circuit. Plan is to be on a Friday either late Feb or March 2013. The advantage of this is we can keep numbers under control resulting in bucket loads of track time for all participants. If this is of interest to you please post up and I will PM you when we firm the details up. Also if you have any questions regarding the day let us know.

Front End Shudder Under Power And Steering Lock
180Shauny replied to 180Shauny's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
So I had the diff oil changed (new diff oil) and the attessa and transfer case changed (Nulon 100% synthetic) and the problem is fixed. Good call Scotty! Incidentally the leak turned out to be a hole in my radiator top tank which I discovered on the way to work today yay! -

Transfer case as in gearbox? That was fully flushed recently. Checked the Attessa, the reservoir is actually quite overfilled. Planning to get it flushed with Nulon Synthetic tomorrow anyway, is there a drain plug or something that you open? Will get the diffs done as well. I think I have a random leak that isn't oil which I'm getting them to look at also. I thought it was power steering but the level in the reservoir seems okay. -

Not LSD, Attessa fluid hasn't been checked since I bought it. Tyres are brand new that's why I wouldn't think it could be them. -
Question About Mercedes Clk 200K

Hey Papaya, if you want a cruiser with space, power and more luxury than you can point a stick at. Get an M35 Stagea, you won't look back. -
Front End Shudder Under Power And Steering Lock
180Shauny replied to 180Shauny's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Please forgive my ignorance Scotty, but aren't the stock rims all the same size? I'm pretty sure I ordered four of the same tyre. Are you talking about variation within the manufacture of the wheels and tyres causing it? -
Front End Shudder Under Power And Steering Lock

An update to this issue, I was doing a tight turn at low speed in a car park yesterday and it started shuddering. I then realised I'd bumped the Synchro button, switched it off, no shudder. Seems the problem may be in the front drivetrain, any ideas? Also discovered a power steering fluid leak last night, yay more money to spend! -
Cruise Control Sales/install - Melbourne
180Shauny replied to 180Shauny's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Audio controls would be nice but I have an aftermarket head unit anyway so not sure if it would take the inputs. In any event I could always retrofit the switches at a later time, thanks for your input guys will post up with how it goes. -
Cruise Control Sales/install - Melbourne

So I rang Freeway, they quoted $690 installed for the CP900 which seems very reasonable. I'd probably just get them to fit the stalk as I'm used to a stalk and think it is the most ergonomic arrangement for my hand when my arm is resting on the armrest whilst cruising. You can just adjust it with your fingertips instead of having to move your hand onto the wheel centre itself. Just my 2c of human factors engineering. PV were you satisfied with the workmanship and the quality of kit itself? -
Cruise Control Sales/install - Melbourne
180Shauny replied to 180Shauny's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Wow thanks for the in depth info guys. So far I have rung Autron and their Melbourne installer No Limit want $880 to supply and fit an Autron cruise complete with the little control button box to go on the side of the wheel or a stalk. Chris charges $710 delivered for his cruise which includes the Nissan switches (can't confirm if backlit or not), he said it was a Lawrence & Pederson unit that is commercially fitted to a number of vehicle brands. The deal from Freeway Car Audio seems pretty good then, I guess the only thing I'm thinking now is, if I DIY my cruise, sell the car and it malfunctions, who's arse is going to get kicked for it? Is there legislation covering the installation of cruise controls? -
Cruise Control Sales/install - Melbourne
180Shauny replied to 180Shauny's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Yes Scott but that involves effort on my part lol. From what Chris was saying his is basically plug and play. One thing I do want is a system that is proven for the M35, what type was yours? Also thanks AAA will try them. -
One thing I've learned in my line of work is to always get two quotes and as I'm looking at buying the cruise control off Chris Rogers I'd like to get a competitive price. Can anyone recommend somebody in Melbourne, preferably with experience on an M35

New Headlight Plastic And Clear Indicators
180Shauny replied to tchard's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Before you look for new ones I have seen a product for sale at Bursons, it's kind of a cut and polish for plastic lens covers. Can't tell you if it's all wank or not but might save you some $$ if it works. -
Some Prick Broke My Weather Strip
180Shauny replied to BigDirtyJase's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Movie was Robocop (2 I think?) Can you use epoxy to repair it? Not sure how bad the break is but I have repaired a C34 strip with epoxy, it was split along its length. -
90's Nissan turbo engines are notorious for running very rich as the O2 sensor gets old.

Hello all, I am in the process of copying the factory cargo barrier. It will be very similar, the bars are slightly heavier and the net will be stitched back in a loop to hold the bars. The bars will be zinc plated black, net is black, etc. Photos to come but I am considering making a batch for sale on the forum if there is enough interest. Pricing TBC I am guesstimating between $200 - 300. Post up if you would be interested in one. If you aren't familiar with the net there's good pics on this post

Awesome cruise guys, nice to meet the Melbourne group!
