  1. That would be a null-modem cable you're describing.
  2. DB25 straight through is correct. A couple of things to remember with RS-232 are; pin assignments are in perspective of the DTE (computer) and cables are straight through unless named otherwise
  3. Flush the system, and use genuine Nissan LLC. But don't mix it stronger than 60:40. If you use the genuine stuff, and change it every couple of years, the alloy bits won't corrode, simple as that.
  4. A 'pop' in the exhaust is too much fuel, a 'pop' in the intake is too little. But as for the causes of the AFR, there are many.
  5. That'll do it every time...
  6. Now I'm going to have to 'unsave' my IM login on the wife's computer - else it's gonna get abused!
  7. Yup, you've all seen the light (I reckon mine would have been one of the first down here)
  8. I didn't bother slotting the rears - it's hardly worth it.
  9. The most local I found was from my Nissan dealership...
  10. Also available from Nengun; http://www.nengun.com/tein/basic-wagon and RHDJapan; http://www.rhdjapan.com/jdm-low/Tein-Basic...tagea-4WD-52229 I was considering that very kit, but got hold of second-hand S-Tune for less (including rebuilding the shocks)
  11. But the question remains - how's it go, and how's it on fuel?
  12. Re; slotted fronts - I paid $199/pair for mine - RDA eBay specials...
  13. Dave, it sounds like you're approaching the point of diminishing returns in regards to the streetability of your ride. Eventually the HP increase (and supporting modifications) are outweighed by the decrease in practicality. Having said all that, I've got a 4-cylinder converter in my Z, which has a stall speed about 400rpm higher than the 6-cylinder one, and it's a pretty good thing. I'm not sure if fitting a CA or SR converter would be feasible or achieve the same outcome behind an RB, but it might be worth talking to MV's about your options. But do have a care about the well being of your gearbox - heat kills and stalling up makes lots of heat...
  14. I've heard some good things about this workshop, so I'm keen to give it a go (hope to have new exhaust on by then - whenever 'then' is!) And it's 5-minutes away from my house
  15. Looks good - but you need to use a better camera, there's some serious CCD noise & compression on those shots
  16. Well, she's not quite AR-X-esque anymore - no more softroading for you!
  17. Stagnats FTW
  18. Sorry, that info is useless - the Aussie VIN for that car is not derived from the Nissan one. But more importantly, what's an import VIN doing with an RB30???
  19. Z11 is correct - 2003-2008(?) production years. The 'cube' looking ones, not the 'Mazda Metro' looking ones.
  20. lol. MASA FTW. FWIW, If I was going to spend a fortune on the conversion (the best part of 80% the resale value of the car), I really wouldn't bother with anyone else.
  21. Unfortunately, I wouldn't hold my breath on the 'lost in the system' theory these days. The new Registration & Licensing software in use has pretty good coverage of all bases...
  22. Put me down for a seat, possibly me +2, depending on if the wife & daughter come along.
  23. It's been a long time since I knew anyone who was on a Probationary license (about 12 years)... But back then, if you breached conditions, you ended up in court. (I didn't end up in such a situation personally, but I knew a few who did) If you require your license for work, then a letter from your employer may assist in reducing any potential disqualification period. You will just have to wait & see what arrives in the mail, if you already have a few infringements against your name then it doesn't look too good. GL & we've all had 'good' reasons for breaking the law. But remember the law doesn't see it that way...
  24. I concur - the 0V310 is an auto trans ECU.
  25. never mind that - the eyebrows are missing! It's definitely a different front bar. The only thing it has going for it is a decent alarm (Viper 790 by the looks of the key fob)... here's another misleading ad http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1999-Nissan-Stagea-...id=p3286.c0.m14 advertised as a 260RS when it's clearly an RSFS (or converted V) These 2 are the same car; http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1998-Nissan-Stagea-...id=p3286.c0.m14 and http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NISSAN-STAGEA-260RS...id=p3286.c0.m14 but Japlink have mixed up photo's of the first one and; http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1998-Nissan-Stagea-...id=p3286.c0.m14 So I'll be fooked if I know what's going on... Long story short, don't buy a stag from fleabay unless you've seen it in the flesh, confirmed it's spec via FAST and possibly checked it on RAWS too!
