  1. I will post pics tomorrow. But yes I installed on the return side. It's so confusing...
  2. So I've installed a tomei fpr (genuine) and it's reading 0 psi. I thought maybe that the gauge is faulty but the manual gauge I've hooked up is reading the same. Having said that my car runs fine... I have no idea how it's running.. But it is.. I've tried adjusting it and nothing. I'm stuck. I have a forward facing plenum (top part only) Stock throttle body Td06 Inter cooler Adaptronic 550cc injectors Aem 320lph fuel pump Please help. Oh and my charcoal canister is only hooked up to the fuel tank and the lines that go to the plenum are just to atmosphere. Thank you!
  3. Update #5 So everything is installed and I drove it around not tuned and it runs really smoothly. I'm going to get it tuned with adaptronic/550cc injectors/boost solenoid. I will post Dyno sheets tomorrow!!!!!
  4. I have the same turbo. And i was actually very curious about the power this turbo was capable of. The car is going to be ready to tune this weekend. I'm getting it Dyno tuned on adaptronic with a boost solenoid and no more maf sensor. I'll let you guys know how it goes. R32 gtst Rb20det Godspeed forward facing plenum 550cc injectors Tomei outlet pipe Kakimoto turbo back Stock internals Kinugawa td06 20g 8cm iwg Stock manifold Adaptronic ECU Walbro 255 fp Fmic
  5. Update #4 so the cold side ended up really nicely thanks to cliff @ RŪKĪGARAGE. All the welding came out pretty damn clean. And the turbo went in. Now all we have left is to connect all the lines, weld the 90degree elbow onto the turbo and tune it!!
  6. Update #3 So my buddy Cliff did some fabrication for me for the ic piping in the intake side. And it looks so dope. He also did some fab work on the intake itself. All in all I'm extremely happy with it. Next is the td06 going in!!! So I decided to go with a td06 20g. It get in tomorrow and everything should be almost ready for tune. Adaptronic and 550cc injectors next!
  7. Here's a little update. I'm still waiting for parts so at least got the plenum side done. Big thanks to my buddy cliff @rukigarage for helping me out. I definitely like the way the forward facing plenum looks. once the rest of the parts arrive I should be able to install and Dyno next week sometime. !! I'll post the Dyno sheets and more updates and give you guys a more in depth of everything with pics.
  8. I just checked out hyper gear and I wish I had known about this sooner... I most def would have gone with this company. But I guess you live and learn. Hhaha. I will most def go with one of their turbos in the future.
  9. As far as turbo I couldn't really find one that didn't cost under 1200 bucks new. I'm relatively new to the skyline and I found one that was pretty cheap and pretty good. I've seen the same turbo on some sr and rb series engine at the shop I bought it from. It's pretty good. That and building the internals and making a cheap hybrid I thought was a pretty good idea. Lol. As far as the Tomei outlet pipe I got it for a steal of a deal so I couldn't let that down. I've never head of hybrid gear highflow . And me and my buddy are doing all the work. Welding and what not. He's a really good welder and he's already done the work on other turbos with welding on elbows so it's not going to cost me much. After this I'm going to upgrade to a top mounted turbo in the future with a new manifold and what not. Thought this would be a fun thing to try!! Thank you all for your inputs and I will most def keep all of you posted and pictures will come soon. As well as Dyno sheets and what not. For the fuel pressure reg I thought I would need one and I thinks it's always good to have one. Lol.
  10. Don't mind the z32 maf and safc neo. Those aren't going on anymore because I decided to do it right and get the adaptronic. Haha. It's for sale if anyone wants them
  11. I thought it would be a good Idea to post one of these on here because I haven't seen anyone post anything about these turbos or anything related to this matter. So right now my R32 GTST is undergoing work for the following parts: TWISTED MOTION RB20DET GT2871r VER 1 Turbo GODSPEED Forward facing Plenum Tomei Outlet pipe to a 3" custom TurboBack 550cc Injectors Boost Solenoid Walbro 255 Fuel Pump Tomei Fuel Pressure Regulator ADAPTRONIC ECU tuned by XACT TUNING So Far the plenum and turbo is going in and there were little things that I thought people should know going into this kind of budget build project: 1. The turbo is pretty awesome. For the price you can't beat what you get. I know it's a cheap turbo and people are going to say get a better turbo and whatnot, but I have a better plan rather than spending $$$ for a name brand turbo. So first off the turbo was 450$ and once the turbo starts to go I'm going to buy internal parts for it which is going to cost me around 300$. As far as Install I'm having a 2" 90degree Cast aluminum Elbow Welded to where the stock elbow would be so that I don't have to deal with couplers. 2. The Intake Plenum is a tricky one for RB20s. Unless you have 1200$+ for a plazmaman/raw brokerage Intake plenum there really aren't much options for the RB20. What I did was get a GODSPEED intake plenum. It was around 250$ on ebay, and once again I know people are going to bash for buying ebay parts, but this is a budget build. That and the GODSPEED plenum isn't that bad. The welds are extremely clean, and has ports for everything stock to be connected right up to it. ie. adaptable with the stock throttle body. The only hiccups are the plenum's mounting bolts are blocked off so we had to drill it through so that the bolts can go in all the way. Apart from that so far there hasn't been any issues. It should be done this weekend and next week I should be able to get this thing tuned with ADAPTRONIC which is one hell of an ECU for the price. Thank you XACT TUNING in AZ for hooking me up with the price that you did. I'm going to post some pictures here soon, and Keep everyone posted on how this build goes! My Goal is 320WHPish. Wish me luck everyone! Once it's all said and done I will most def let the RB20 Community know how it is and if it's worth it!
  12. Well thank you all for your inputs! I replaced the sending unit with a z32 sending unit today. The oil pressure is holding steady and fine. Luckily for me. Haha. So far.... I haven't driven too much on it but I'll see how it goes. So far it seems that the only thing wrong was my sending unit. Haha. Thanks again y'all!!!
  13. I replaced the sending unit. The z32 sending unit was indeed a perfect fit and now my pressures are fine. You guys were right. And I was lucky that's all it was. For now.... I haven't driven too much on it yet so I'll see how it goes. Thanks for all your inputs.
  14. I'm only using the z32 Oil Sending Unit because it fits the RB series engines. As far as the Oil pressure goes. In cool weather it operates fine. I think the standard pressure guage is in Bar increments of 2 right? 0 - 4 - 8? If it is then here's what it's doing: Cool weather cold start jumps to 4 then warm goes back down to about 2. and driving goes to 4. The weather here in AZ it would operate fine when i first start the car for the day. Then I'll drive around and the pressure would go down to below the 2 at idle and then would jump to between 2 and 4 so around 3 driving. Sometimes it'll be at 2. So I thought that since I'm driving in 110-120 degree F weather the oil is just cooking and thinning out. It's still doing this with the 20w50 in there. I'm HOPING that the sending unit and Oil Cooler will get the job done with a new oil pressure gauge. If not then I know it's my pump or gap between the bearings... which will ask for a Engine Pull.... I'm just hoping.... wish me luck Lol
  15. I don't have an oil temp gauge and I really do not know oil temps too much My back ground on skyline experience is little to none. I've only had the car for about 3 weeks. I have a water temp guage and it usually sits around 70-80 according the guage. If that means anything.
  16. I am currently running the stock guage. But I took a mechanical guage to it and it was reading the same. So I've crossed out that issue. I'm thinking I should get a After Market Guage anyway so that I can have a more reliable one anyway.
  17. 1989 HCR32 RB20DET Only engine mods done are FMIC/Intake/ Turbo Back. It happens after normal and hard driving. I do not have an Oil Cooler installed I was hoping if it was a temp issue then I can just get a Oil Cooler and call it a day. I'm replacing the sending unit this week. I'm just hoping that it's not my oil pump and worst case scenario gap in my bearings
  18. So as far as oil goes I have a few questions with Oil Pressure? I live in AZ where the summer weather is 110-120 degrees F. I drove my car in California where the Oil pressure was FINE. but as soon as I came back to AZ (where I actually live) the oil pressure started to drop. Drop meaning almost to 0. then only getting up to maybe 20-30psi driving. Does Crazy hot weather have an effect on that? Because in California like i said the oil pressure was fine because the weather is significantly cooler there 60-80 degrees F. I'm running 20w50 (switched it on 7/6/2015 when I came back to his pit of fire called AZ) from 10w30 I thought since it's too hot here the viscosity is thinning out too much with 10w30 but even with 20w50 it's still dropping... Is that a ambient heat issue? I'm going to try and replace the sending unit and if that fails too then I'm almost sure that I'm going to need a new oil pump which is going to cost me quite the bit of money because of Labor. (I don't have the time to be doing my own engine work ATM) Thanks for your input guys!
  19. Cool! Thank you guys. I'll give it a shot. Also I've read somewhere else that the 300zx sending unit is pretty much the same as the all the RB motors. so I'll give that a shot as well because i'm in the states and the 300zx parts are stupid easy to find! Another question on the Oil pressure though: I live in AZ where the summer weather is 110degrees F. I drove my car in California where the Oil pressure was FINE. but as soon as I came back to AZ (where I actually live) the oil pressure started to drop. Drop meaning almost to 0. then only getting up to maybe 20-30psi driving. Does Crazy hot weather have an effect on that? Because in California like i said the oil pressure was fine because the weather is significantly cooler there. I'm going to try and replace the sending unit and if that fails too then I'm almost sure that I'm going to need a new oil pump which is going to cost me quite the bit of money because of Labor. (I don't have the time to be doing my own engine work ATM) Thanks for your input guys!
  20. I've done a very thorough search and couldn't find anyone that says the exact size for the Oil Pressure Sending Unit. I was wondering what type of thread i needed and if i can just use an autometer sending unit. Ultimately using a Autometer Oil pressure gauge? Thank you guys!
  21. I would but it snapped and it's in the middle of the road somewhere
  22. My A/C belt just snapped and I've been looking around EVERYWHERE. I'm in the U.S so it doesn't help that my resources for skylines are EXTREMELY limited. So I have a 1989 HCR32 RB20DET. Does anyone know if there are any other General A/C belts that I can get? It's going to take around a month to get the belt in from the U.K. and AUS. I also live in AZ and it's 120+ degrees f right now. Please help me! If there isn't another belt that doesn't fit then I'll just have to die in my car and wait it out haha. Thanks guys!
  23. Good news. The light does not come on. I wasted a thread. My bad guys. I should have just waited and saw for myself. I'm new to these forum things.
