In all seriousness i cant see the point of doing that? if its just to hide it from cops then that's silly. they are not stupid, they will still see the car is forced induction and it comes up when they check your rego. Its like taking a badge of a xr6 turbo, it looks the same as a normal xr6 but you still know its turbo. If your not modifying your car then leave it in stock form, service it, look after it and just enjoy what the car has to offer. cheers, alex

um got lol! delete please... -
cant help but ask why would you want to relocate the stock turbo? you cant even see it in stock form under all the heat shields and pipes. sounds like a silly idea? for the sake of this argument you could possibly make up a pipe between the manifold and the turbo to lower the turbo towards the gearbox, but you will compromise response. you will also be up for new oil/water lines $300, dump pipe $300, induction pipe $150, bov plumb back pipe $50 & intercooler pipes $300 and much much more. So not worth the effort, time and money. a complete waste of time, don't even bother. sorry but thats just my opinion.

How Much Power Can S15 480cc Injectors Go To?
217/r33 replied to boostn0199's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
up to 300rwkw, currently have a rb25 @ 15psi and 255rwkw with s15 injectors with plenty of room to move. as above, clean them and buy new o-rings. -

Will I Need Injectors + Fuel Pump?
217/r33 replied to existence's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i'd be very surprised if you don’t get boost creep, they all do it and just unavoidable. with the supporting mods, your fuel pump may or may not be enough you just don’t know in what condition it's in. this also comes down to reliability, why would you want to risk your car leaning out and causing serious damage to your engine which will result in a rebuild. same goes for your injectors, you will be running them on max and it’s just not safe and will limit the amount of boost you can run. if your going with the MAP sensor option there is no need for a AFM so no need to worry about that then. i suggest you go with a bigger pump and injectors to ensure you have enough fuel to keep it safe and to achieve the desired result. -
hmm thats strange, the 38mm should be just fine for that sort of application, i suggest looking at the ebc before anything els. yeah the screamer is really nice, i set one up on this setup and it sounds awesome

i bet it feels much nicer to drive with the gt30 in it? he would probably have you for response and off the lights. and again 14psi is not that much strain on the good old rb25, why didn't he up the boost to around 16-17psi? would of got close to 300kw with the right setup. i guess kkr is not bad for the price...

Will I Need Injectors + Fuel Pump?
217/r33 replied to existence's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
don’t expect much power from the kk430, i'd look out for boost issues if your running a internal wastegate? you will need a new fuel pump eg: 040 or walbro, injectors will run very close to max and your AFM will max out if your going to run 16psi i suggest: bosh 040 or walbro bigger injectors z32 AFM keep us updated, keen to see the end result here is a recent build that i just finished for a friend of mine, might give you some good info. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Mo...st-t239039.html cheers! -
thanks mate. it’s very strong all the way thru the rev range and rev limiter is at 7200rpm from 3rd gear onwards you really start to feel the top end power if you keep pushing it. the car feels responsive and easy to drive, just a shame for the flow issue otherwise we could of seen some really nice power somewhere around 270rwkw+ the owner doesn’t want to spend more money to fix this issue.
-
defiantly better off with a quality product such as garrett, trust or hks. kkr is not all that bad but it’s a little laggy for the amount of power you get. i guess it’s as simple as "you get what you pay for" in this case. if your on a really strict budget and you can get the internal waste gate to hold boost (it's probably impossible) then it’s ok for someone who just can’t afford a garrett. in the end of it all the owner was happy and so was i. cheers!

hey guys im sure some of you may have been following my other thread here about my kkr project. well the results are in with good final results. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Mo....html&st=20 cheers!

ok the car is complete and we have the final results and let me tell you it was a pain the back side to complete! after welding on the external gate and fixing boost issues I was only to find 50km later the turbo blew! BAH was that annoying since i've now pulled it off about 4 times! anyways otomoto replaced it without question, failure was due to a faulty seal i guess it happens i completed the setup with new braided water lines, gaskets ect so the setup was now solid. the car was installed with: (stock rb25det) kkr480 38mm external wastegate to atmosphere kkr dump pipe trust front pipe fujitsubo exhaust apexi power fc splitfire coilpacks iriway 7 plugs z32 afm s15 injectors bosh 040 pump hybrid fmic hybrid ebc paul at pulse racing did the tune, end result was 250rwkw on 17psi. the turbo performed really well until we took the boost past 15psi then we hit a massive flow issue. it made the same power on 15psi as it did on 17psi. boost started dropping of back down to 14psi and wouldn't want to go anymore which is really strange with an external gate... main restriction was in the turbo housing and dump pipe. the otomoto dump pipe is just way to restrictive and just doesn't flow anywhere near enough. also inside the exhaust housing there was turbulence due to the internal gate being welded shut and creating a pocket with resulted in loss of power. the end result however was impressive, 6000nm of torque and 250rwkw was plenty to play around with. if it wasn’t for the flow issues with the turbo design we should of come close to 270rwkw+ and that’s very impressive for a dodgy kkr. so in the end it would of been probably cheaper to go with a nice garret due to all the setbacks the kkr gave us. but once again happy with the results and so is the owner cheers!

Hks Turbo Install Oil Water Lines
217/r33 replied to Chi100188's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
its located on the plenum at the back of the engine, you will need to remove the aac valve and move some wires out of the way. you will see a little 90deg rubber house connecting to the plenum, that will be it. you can reach it with a long set of pliers and disconnect it. what’s even more difficult, it's also bolted down by a bracket right at the back of the engine near the gearbox, i just broke mine because i was replacing the whole line anyway but it’s a !@#$ to unbolt that little bracket. good luck! cheers! -
well the article displayed sr20 units with no brand name so they would be your typical jjr ect. i believe with critical components such as this i wouldn't go on the cheap side. all these jjr and no name products come from the same china town place anyway. i personally would stick with a trusted brand, we all know how dodgy the china stuff is. its like trying to compare a kkr turbo to garret or hks, hell the kkr will make power but your typical garret, hks, trust, blitz ect will make stacks more on the same boost. why compromise $100 odd dollars when you can have something that will outperform and out last and will give you peace of mind. that’s my 2cents anyway.
-
+1 i've also seen that article, they didn't say what brand but they were defiantly the jjr units mate don't waste time with cheap chinese products. modifying engine components is a delicate process, i see loads of sau members modifying cars with cheap nasty chinese parts and wonder why the car is worse of. do it once do it right, if you stock items are no longer up to the job then go with splitfire coils.
