  1. sold im the guy that just called you
  2. nice work i'm getting it done this sat. will keep everyone posted on how it goes.
  3. +1 i wouldnt bother spending more money for such little gains, not woth HP vs $$$ all depends on what you intend on using your car for, 273rwkw is plenty of fun for the street
  4. yeah i had a feeling that was going to happen where did you get yours done? how much?
  5. interesting, what sort of boost was it running when the fmic was installed? if its creeping to 10-11 psi thats nornal.
  6. ok so as planed i booked the car in to make up a new intake pipe at sureflow and pick up a new dump pipe and clmap from otomoto. so come friday morning im on my way to pick up the car, jump in and crank it over. the car starts but is only running on 3 cylinders! BAH!! so i thought ok plugs are flooded because car is running really rich so i take them out and clean them, remove all the fuel from all cylinders, crank her over and she is still missing! ended up having to go thru the elimination proccess 1.plugs 2.ignitor modual 3.coil packs 4.ecu ect all of the above were working fine... i was out of options, the only other possible issue that came to mind was the second hand s15 injectors that i installed. so off came the plenume and the fuel rail! as i was removing the fuel rail 1 injector just started pooring out all over the engine like a tap! so i removed all of the injectors from the rail and found that 4 out of the 6 seals were broken! ahh last thing i wanted on the day that the car was booked in for some work. so of i went down to nissan, picked up new seals and the injectors went back in. cranked her over and she started firing all cylinders. YAY! was time to take her down to otomoto to pick up a new dump pipe and clamp and re-book a time with sureflow. on the way there in 4th gear on a hill we put her underload to test boost levels, only to find she hit 18psi !! oh !@#$ another issue. so i picked up a 38mm external gate that is going to be welded on to the turbo housing. the car is now apart, will be welding the wastegate next week.
  7. are you using a jjr split dump/front pipe? http://justjap.com/store/product.php?produ...=276&page=1 they cause boost spike issues. i'd also look at getting rid of your manual boost controller they are a common cause of boost issues. i'd recommend you leave your stock dump pipe and just buy a front pipe, it's more then enough flow for the standard turbo and will elimimate boost creep. or buy a good quality unit and invest in a good ebc.
  8. i'd never use a stock afm for 250rwkw, thats just insanity if you ask me. maybe tell us what your setup is then people might be able to give you more advise.
  9. quick update; im taking the car to sureflow exhaust in ingleburn friday morning to make up a new intake pipe for the turbo. spoke with grant at otomoto and his willing to replace the dump pipe and clamp because i think the dump pipe might be warped from the welding. the project is near complete, just waiting for a z32 afm. then it’s time to book her in for a tune alex.
  10. i'm sure there will be enough power with the supporting mods, however i'm more after nice torque curve, nice smooth power curve and a safe tune. alex.
  11. lol! good to hear it's fixed. well i guess they have fixed this issue with the new series, i'm also very happy that its water cooled now. i inspected the hole turbo and looked at the wastegate carefully, seems it's a decent size hole. during road testing the boost seemed very steady, 12-14psi without any ebc just straight line of the turbo into the wastegate. (using electronic gauge for near accurate reading) we will be doing the tune using the stock wastegate, see how it goes fingers crossed it will be fine alex.
  12. ahh yes we all know them half dodgy dump pipe jobs. if they can’t weld they probably don’t know what they are doing, that’s my view on it anyway. well i've had a look around for some v-band clamps and on average they go between $40-$80 and the quality still looks really poor. if i find anything i'll defiantly let you know i guess after some good dyno time they will run smooth enough to not really notice them. i also cleaned the aac valve when i changed the injectors, i've fixed many skylines with this issue. what do people expect after about 15 years of wear and tear! let me know how you go with the new dump pipe, and be sure to post up that new dyno sheet, good luck, nice work alex.
  13. will do mate, so far so good. kkr480 went straight in onto stock manifold, had to twist the housing of the turbo to line them up for oil/water lines and intercool pipe. she still had about 3-5mm between the compressor and the manifold. i was lucky to pick up a oil/water cooler version. oil lines bolt straight up, i had to make up my own water lines by cutting the stock steal ones. only problem was the stock turbo uses a bigger bolt on the water line that connects to the turbo, so what i did was source out 2x stock bottom water lines of x2 wrecked r33's because the side that bolts into the bottom if the engine is the same size bolt into the turbo. so what i did was cut them in half using as much of the metal line as possible and connecting them up with a high temperature house. s15 injectors are a straight swap if you can bloody get the stock ones out of the fuel rail! that was a real pain. good luck with the bolts on the stock plenum, hard to get to if you have big hands. take of the throttle body and the aac valve and you should be sweet. bosh 040 is not that hard, took me about an hour. the car had a full tank of fuel... that was fun (there are heaps of D.I.Y on the forums) the rest of the mods are basically straight bolt on's. will be booking the car in this week to make up a new intake pipe for the turbo, will post up some pics when she's in alex.
  14. well that’s about right then how bad was your boost creep? otomoto says they have eliminated the boost creep with the new series? i was originally going to go external but they talked me out of it, i hope i don’t run into this issue on the dyno!
  15. hey adam, yeah them vband style stuff is rubbish! i don’t think it’s a matter of putting in the flex to reduce the weight being put onto the clamp, it’s the quality of the clamp. i also found that the surface of the dump pipe was not even so i will be machining it and locating a stronger and tighter clamp but anyway i hope that solves the issue. i'll keep you updated how did you find your 740cc injectors? did it cause a ruff idle?
  16. ok here are some pics, please note that it’s nowhere near complete. this setup was only for testing. things that still need doing: exhaust leak new intake pipe buy/install z32 afm modify oil catch can to fit replace clamps re-connect ebc ect... will be fixing and exhaust leak this weekend and fabricating a new intake pipe. will keep everyone updated on the progress.
  17. well we will see what happens, maybe between 14-16psi depends how the motor reacts to it. r33 injectros are 370cc, s15 are 480cc turbo seems very responsive, full boost by 4000-4500rpm without a proper dyno tune and comes one very hard. i've read some of your post on the forum and it seems so strange to me that yours is just so lagy. kkr have released a new version with fixed boost spike issues and it seems to work like a treat. i got some photos on my phone that i'll upload and post later today.
  18. hi guys just thought i'd share my project with you. i'm modifying my friend’s r33 gtst as his now keen for some more juice mods: kkr480 turbo (internal gate) kkr dump/trust front pipe xforce high flow cat jjr exhaust (basically straight thru with just a canon, very loud!) splitfire coil packs hybrid fmic pfc z32 afm (still to buy) 040 fuel pump s15 480cc injectors the project is near complete, all the work has been done myself. the above mods have been installed apart from z32 afm witch im yet to buy. need to fix an exhaust leak between the turbo and dump, the bloody v-band clamps are a pain! should be completing the rest of the car in a few weeks, its taken a lot of weekends and skin of my hands! it will be tuned by adam at jem, i'm looking for a safe 240rwkw+ on 14psi any questions and suggestions are welcome, can’t wait to post up the results. i'll try and get some pics up soon.
  19. i ran 13.2 with fmic, ebc @ 13psi and cat back exhaust. as everyone said it depends on how good of a driver you are. + 1 for 14.X
  20. +1 ! mate as he said get it tuned, you can’t run someone's ecu on your car. every car is different!
  21. that is definatly creeping mate, get rid of the cheap crap
  22. you will always be taking a risk when buying any second hand or used turbo. some factory units outlast the car and some dont, your just going to have to trust the sellers opinion on this
  23. your obviously running a stock turbo? don’t bother with a dump pipe, just buy a front pipe that runs from the factory dump pipe. it will be more then enough flow for you application. i don’t want to favour brands here but anything like hpi, trust or even powerplay have their own front pipe that they make and sell, have fitted a few of them and they work like a charm.
  24. thanks for all your help mate, i'm now clear on what needs to be done what do you guys thing about ceramic coating the manifold after its all done, does it cost alot?
