  1. guessing this would be a matter of elimination. plugs, coils, afm ect... run ecu diagnostic. do a search on it there is plenty of info
  2. sure is, however ive seen it on a r33 years ago and the guy didnt have any issues from memory. sounds like i'll need to get the pro's on this then? any ideas of costs? would it be a better idea just to take my manifold, turbo and dump pipe to someone who can do it in one hit? suggestions on places would be great. located in sydney.
  3. definatly not the quickest mate, there is always someone quicker.
  4. +1 you get what you pay for, jjr is known to be cheap and nasty. alot of people buy cheap aftermarket parts and wonder why their car is playing up. buy trusted/tested and well known products that have been proven to work and you wont run into trouble and end up spending more then you should, do it right the first time and save.
  5. thanks nismoid, i'll be definatly doing it from the manifold. do you think i'd be able to drill the manifold instead of having to do it with an oxy?
  6. installed a couple of xforce cats on r33's with more boost, ecu, fmic ect.. with no problems at all. +1 for tune.
  7. ok i dont have an oxy how about drilling it? then get an exhaust place to weld a pipe and connect it to the dump pipe, or i can borrow a friends welder. if not how hard will it be to make the bends in the pipe my self, im good with tools just dont know how i'd bend the pipe into the right shape.
  8. thats great info mate, thank you. a few questions 1. how did you drill the hole? 2. do you need to heat the manifold red hot before you weld?
  9. ive had many issues with the just jap jjr split front/dump pipe. its a cheap and nasty product has caused many issues like boost spikes, internal gate touching the wall ect...
  10. ok i've been looking around for aftermarket manifolds for the rb25 with no luck. im looking for something that will fit the turbo in the original "side mount" position that could allow me to run an external gate. so i thought why not drill a hole in a stock one? but i've been told that the welds might crack? my budget is not so big and a custom manifold is not an option at this stage. has anyone done this? i would like to hear from people who have tried it, any other suggestions are welcome.
  11. Nice work trent, she looks real sweet and must of been a plesure to tune
  12. Read thru this thread, might help. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Bo...26#entry4144426 If you’re running a jjr/ebay split dump/front pipe then you will have boost spike issues. At 13-14+ psi the stock ecu will R&R anyway so it will feel like it dies after 4500rpm, you may even hit boost/fuel cut at that stage. Bleed type boost controllers have a very common problem of boost spikes, if you want steady boost I’d look for a gready EBC, apexi ect for steady boost levels.
  13. +1 Looks like it's time to jump on the bus to work.
  14. Very common problem with the split dumb pipe, I’ve fixed a few rb's with this issue. It’s caused by the gasses being blocked at high RPM where the two pipes meet and get pushed back thru the waste gate pipe so it results in boost spikes. This normally happens with cheap products like jjr and ebay stuff, they are poorly made so the flow is disturbed resulting in flow issues and boost spikes. How to fix it? Re-attach your stock dump pipe and just buy a front pipe, you will still get the same power gain for your application.
  15. If you’re buying the complete kit then it will include new oil/water lines ect to fit, turbo alone would most likely need new lines made up.
  16. i've installed a jjr dump pipe on two r33's few months ago with no problems. double check the bolts and inspect your hole exhaust. if you can, put your car on car stands and get underneath it. shake it around to see how much play it has, you may need to replace the rubbers that hold the exhaust on.
  17. +1 might be worth a shot if you cant find the problem. do a search on the forums and you will find loads of threads on the o2 sensor.
  18. Thanks for the advise, where did you perchase your plug and play harness? I'd love find one.
  19. Check all your electrical plugs in your engine bay, first place i'll be looking is the AFM. is your car boosting ok? maybe borrow a friends AFM and i suggest you replace your battery, you dont want to be stuck with a flat!
  20. do you have an aftermarket bov?
  21. you have a pm
  22. Thanks for that, i'm located in sydney. If anyone has had their emanage tuned would love to hear some feedback.
  23. Hey guys, I'm looking for a place that can tune my emanage blue, rang CRD they have quoted $750 fitted and tuned. I was thinking of installing it myself. Does anyone know of a workshop that can tune these well? And what should be a good price to pay? Cheers.
