I’m finding it hard to chose between a PowerFC or a WOLD 3D. They both have good tunning options and features. Can anyone who had experience confirm on what they actually found better to tune with. What had a better, smoother more powerful outcome all around? I’ve herd a lot of PFC outcomes but not much from the wolf, would be nice to hear someone actually compare them on a tune with same/similar mods on a skyline. Cheers, Alex.

Hill Billy Run ECU diagnostic and this will tell you if its your crank angle sensor... ( CODE #11 ) Now how to do it. ( HAVE ATTACHED A FEW PICS ) Find that gray plug near the fuse box. I have selected the two wires on picture below you need to short out FOR TWO SECONDS WHILE IGNITION IS ON (car not runing) With a paper clip or a wire. *FIND PLUG *TURN ON IGNITION *SHORT OUT THE WIRES FOR APROX 2 SECONDS ( BLUE & BROWN, right next to each other, left corner ) *WATCH ENGINE LIGHT ON DASH This will set the ECU in diagnostic mode and run a 55 sensor read out. Codes can be found here on the forum IF the light flashs 5 times SLOW and 5 times FAST then thats a big OK 55 read out. Hope that helps... Cheers, Alex. -

I wouldn’t push standard internals past 240/250rwkw. People here have but for how long can you run that for driving it everyday... My advice better safe then sorry. Refresh the bottom end with new bearings shot peening the rods, forge pistons and some headwork ECT.... will get you well over 300. But depending on how much work you can do your self. Maybe u can get away with 7g but you will have to do the work. I still think 7g is tight build for 300rwkw knowing how much other small things you’re going to run into along the way, like fuel system, cams, lifters, valve springs, turbo ECT... That’s my 5c.... Mate just to give you an example and a good idea for your money. My old R33 1995 had Hybrid GT spec FMIC (KIT) Hybrid boost controller, cat back exhaust, iridium plugs, stock ECU. On 13PSI I got 230rwkw (on a hub dyno) and it ran butiful for one year and no problems. And the new owner is very happy. You will hear alot of stories about how much boost is safe. Hybrid implied that 12-13 is totally safe, also please set your boost on a dyno not by your gauge they are always off one psi each way. If your turbo is in good nik it will last for a long time. If your keen on a Hybrid GT Spec Kit let me know and I will recommend you and get you a deal for been a SAU member. NickR33, I wouldn't say that the Hybrid GT spec is crap. They are on top of the market and are one of the best performance coolers around. Have seen results my self. Comparing them to something like just jap coolers or eBay china import was just a joke in weight and flow difference and power gain was just amazing (even top brand coolers). They are also leading in Drift Australia competitors and they find them the best thing they have used, mind you they have been thru heaps. Just my 5c... Cheers, Alex.

Is it that little black slim black controller at the back of the coils/plugs cover? How ever ill test my mates coils and ignitor module... After this saga is solved ill do a "Step By Step" on what i done to solve the problem. Cheers, Alex.

Sorry to intrude on the post but how does the WOLF 3D compare to the PowerFC. What advantages does the PFC have and the Wolf3D over PFC ?? I'm looking for an ECU upgrade at a later stage and stuck between PFC, haltech and wolf3d...

No didn't touch the ECU Tried waiting for the pump, nope still the same Cleaned my K&N spotless Will clean the throttle body and idle controller. OK.. Ran the ECU diagnostic just then and I got an error. 2 long flashes and one short. Was trying to figure out the codes on the manual and I came up with "IGNITION SIGNAL SYSTEM" OR "AIR FLOW METER" Because its ether CODE #12 OR #21. I don’t know whether the code is read from left to right or the opposite. I have attached the codes anyway. If anyone can help on the code that will be great. Cheers, Alex.

I would stick with your turbo as it has a steal compressor wheel and will take more punishment then the R34 turbo because they are ceramic/plastic. They tend to break/melt under boost. Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe the R34 turbo is only slightly bit bigger in the flange but I wouldn’t think you will feel the difference. Not worth a sent in my point of view. Cheers, Alex.

Just replaced mine a week ago. Was $16 at repco but walked away with it for $10. There are a few listings they will all do the job. Just make sure it looks about the same. One of them is with a 90' deg bent tube. Cheers, Alex.

Nah manual, yes fuel system is my main concern now. I think the injectors are blocked and need to be cleaned. I will be running a good injector cleaner thru it see how that goes. I used one on my old R33 and it helped alot. Cheers, Alex.

Ok 1st attempt was this arvo. I tried my friends AFM to see if it was a possible problem. Nope still struggled to start, also checked the wires on the ECU and around the engine. Still need to do a ECU diagnostic test to see if all sensors are working. Any other suggestions :?

Thanks for that will look into it tommorrow arvo, will also be trying my mates AFM see if that helps. Also will be changing fuel pump at some stage. Any other suggestions will be great. Thanks, Alex.

Hi everyone I need some help, : I have an r33 94 s1. Now the problem is when I start the car when its cold it will start to misfire and lose cylinders for about 5 seconds and sometimes won’t even start 1st go. You need to push the accelerator to get it going but after that it runs ok. I’ve changed the plugs, fuel filter cleaned AFM with carby cleaner and still doing it but only when it’s cold. It’s running splitfire aftermarket coil packs and iridium plugs Mods: FMIC Exhaust (turbo back) Turbo smart plump back BOV K&N POD filter (cleaned) ECT… I was thinking it could be a faulty AFM ? Going to do a ECU diagnostic to see what that tells me. Any suggestions will be great guys. It’s really annoying having to struggle with it in the morning… Thanks, Alex.

Thinking Of Getting A Different Car.

I wouldn’t waste my time with a wrx I went thru the same thing of wanting one, but my car was in tip top condition. I had 230rwkw and never ever seen a wrx in front of me. Had fmic, exhaust, pod, 13psi stock ECU ect.. Get your car to a performance / mechanics shop mate and let them have a look at it (Get some advise where to go who knows there stuff). Don’t bother with bosh plugs... go with NGK Iridium (BKR5EIX-11 correct me if I’m wrong) plug and gap them to 0.8mm. Your car may have all sorts of problems because it sounds like your not really mechanically minded (no offence). There could be an easy fix problem but we can guess all day so take it in somewhere mate and get her checked out. Cheers, Alex. -
