Coil packs gone, and lenses when I get around to dropping them off. Turbos still available.
-
No worries, PM me your contact details, I should be coming through your area on the way home from Civic during the week.

You been grounded again?

I have a pair of stock R33 GTR turbos off my blue thing sitting in the shed that came off at about 70k when the HKS units went in. No idea what they are worth, but PM me an offer if interested. Also have a pair of R33 GTR Nismo clear side indicator lens thingies in good nick that can be yours for a measly $30, and a set of R33 GTR Yellowjacket coil packs that have done less than 1000K's work for $200. Think those will also fit some Stageas and S1 R33 GTS-T's from memory, but you would need to check. Again, do the PM thing if keen. Cheers, JD

Thanks Michael, we might have another crack at it on the weekend. I just didn't want to go hacking into the stock harness plugs if I could avoid it. Were the modified plugs still a tight fit? Wouldn't want them coming loose, but I guess a couple of wraps of insulation tape might solve that problem. He just got quoted $350 to have his new exhaust system fitted, so I guess we'll be doing that too. Looks like it's going to be a busy weekend. Cheers, John

Trying to help my son install a Greddy full auto turbo timer on his R33 S2 GTST and having some problems with the ARK "plug & play" harness. I removed the steering column surround and unplugged the wiring loom at the back of the ignition key barrel, assuming that is where the harness would plug in, but the plugs don't mate up. Is this the right place to install the TT harness, or is there another plug further down the loom that it plugs in to? Hard to see without removing the lower dash, which looks like a pita to remove. I didn't order the harness, so there is a slight chance it may not be the right one..... The car also has an immobiliser installed, so if anybody knows whether that is going to cause me more grief, and any advice on how to deal with it would be appreciated. Otherwise I will need to concede defeat and send him off to the auto electrician, but I was hoping to save him some money by having a crack at it ourselves first. Cheers, JD

Probably one of the Meguiars oompaloompas, just letting you know it's time to wash the car... -
Thanks folks, looks like the mofo's have shoved a pocketknife or screwdriver through the sidewall so I doubt that can be repaired, so he'll be off to pick up a new tyre tomorrow. I think they were 225/40 18's, about 2 weeks old (early xmas present).

Just got home from work and spotted the young bloke's R33 with three well keyed panels and a slashed tyre - brand new Federal RS-R. Words can't describe what I would do to the pricks that did that if I ever found them.
-
Thanks for all the info folks I will run it all by him and see where we go from here. Cheers, JD

The young bloke is finishing Y12 this year and thinking about doing an automotive apprenticeship next year, so thought I would throw it out to the SAU brains trust for anyone's advice or experiences. It's been a very long time since I got grease under the fingernails for a living, and I didn't get to do an apprenticeship, so don't really feel qualified enough to steer him in the right direction. Any input on good places to work (e.g. dealerships vs private workshops) or places and things to avoid would be much appreciated. Cheers, JD PS - this has got absolutely nothing to do with me getting my cars fixed for free some day. Definitely not, the thought never even crossed my mind.

All done, just had to rip the window tint off and replace the back shocks. Now he just needs to go down and empty his wallet on the Govco shopfront counter. Thanks for the help everyone! -

Sounds like the dude out at fyshwick that did the rego inspection on my KTM, I didn't even take it off the back of the ute. And the bloke that did my driving test up in Qld. "Hey, you're not Bill's lad are you?" "Yep" "I remember him, he used to coach my footy team in monto, was mates with mal meninga's dad norm blah, blah, blah" "what do you want me to do?" "um, just drive around the block a couple of times blah, blah, blah" "here's your licence" "thanks" -

Yeah, he kind of missed out on the GTR wheels hey. I believe he has it booked into Bridgestone at Phillip tomorrow, so we'll see how it goes. He's at work tonight, so I have just been down replacing the pod with a standard airbox etc. Bloody RB25's -

Rich, you do know that according to Japanese mythology the original Godzilla was a dinosaur? Thanks for the input folks, i'll suss out the local workshops. Does anyone know if the Identity Check stuff still has to be done, and if only Dickson can do that? -
I know this has been asked and answered before, but not recently, so thought I would try and get some up to date info. My son just bought a black 97 R33 GTS-T privately from Sydney, so we need to get the rego transferred into the ACT. It's pretty much standard apart from window tint, pod filter and exhaust. Stock airbox came with it, so that will go back on before the inspection. Not sure about the window tint, it's pretty dark. Anyways, my question is - has anybody bought in a privately sold interstate car recently and NOT had to go through the butt-hurt that is Dickson? I know a few years back that was the only option, but not sure if it's still the case. And if you see a black 33 with stockies driving around and he doesn't wave back, tell me and i'll kick his arse

I have a pool table to give away to anyone that's capable of picking it up. It has been sitting out on a covered deck for the last few years, so the felt is a bit faded and some of the laminate on the sides is lifting in places. The feet are also a bit rusty, but hey, it's free! Will include balls, cues and shit as per picture below. Measures 2100 x 1200 (7ft x 4ft) and is pretty heavy so you will need a ute/trailer and some mates to pick it up. Needs to be gone by next weekend. PM me, first in best dressed. No table kickers please. Cheers, JD

Not particularly fussed if I don't sell them to be honest Nick. I had a scout around on here and a few other places and they seemed to be going for around $1K +, so thought $800 was reasonable providing someone local picks them up.
-
So, are you saying that painting them bright green wasn't a good idea?
-
Patience grasshopper I will have to drag them out of storage, hose off the dust and take some pix on a day that I actually get home before dark. So probably not before the weekend. Anyone who wants to buy them without first seeing pix is of course welcome to. :

I have a set of standard R33 GTR wheels and tyres that I am considering putting up for sale. I will need to drag them out and check, but from memory they have a bit of minor gutter rash and are shod with a near new set of (Nexen?) tyres that were put on by the dealer I bought the car from. Probably looking for around $800. Anyone interested? Cheers, JD
