  1. I ordered a set through Repco about 18 months ago, but can't recall what they cost. Just give one of their stores a ring and quote the part number, they should be able to give you a price over the phone. They're absolutely huge, something like 350mm which I had to cut down to about 75mm to fit on an R33. Seemed like a waste to cut that much off the threaded rod, but oh well.........
  2. If anyone is still able to check these, could you please give this one a go: 6U900BCNR33022986 Thanks
  3. Just get some Nolathane adjustable links and cut them down to whatever size you need. http://www.nolathane.com.au/images/product...aybar-links.pdf Bottom of the page, 10mm and 12mm universal links. Cheers, JD
  4. I replaced the clutch fan in my R33 GTST a few months ago with an aftermarket product, so they definitely make them for R33's at least. Not sure if the R34 is the same though. Bought mine from a place called Motor Spares here in Canberra, from memory it cost about $160. They have a website http://www.motor-spares.com.au and pretty sure they post stuff anywhere. Give them a call, they might be able to help you out. JD
  5. Price drop - $10,500 ono. For sensible offers I will also throw in the following standard spares that I forgot I had: - Full set of stock wheels with roadworthy tyres - Complete turbo-back stock exhaust system - Full set of stock suspension including swaybars - Stock SMIC - Spare radiator core (plastic top tank inlet damaged) All parts are in top condition - basically enough there to return the car completely back to standard if required.
  6. If anyone from the deep south wants to join our little convoy, we will be leaving from the Calwell servo around 8:00am or shortly after. Going by people I know from other car clubs that are attending, we are likely to be setting up in the grassed area between King Edward Tce and Reconciliation place. But I could be wrong. Did anyone actually hear back from the organisers? They have usually sent each club a site map by now.
  7. Count me in (John) X 2. R33 GTR R33 GTS-T (driven by someone wearing a balaclava NOT Sinista32 ) Do we have a time/place to meet up yet?
  8. The black paint has flaked off one side of the mesh in my GTR grill, so I want to take the mesh off and respray it. I got the grill off easily enough, but can't work out how to get these little circular clips off to remove the mesh without breaking anything. They seem to be forced onto the posts really tight, and I don't want to break the plastic by levering them off. Was going to try cutting them with side cutters, but not sure if I will be able to find new clips to replace them with. Any ideas?
  9. haha - I forgot you cheeky bastards called them that! Didn't Leech used to get really fired up about the whale calls? Yes I guess it's sad, but if car prices weren't shit all round, I probably wouldn't have picked up the GTR, there's good and bad in everything.....
  10. Excellent, now I just need a driver - you available?
  11. Cool, i'm there. Do ya reckon anyone would mind if I took my GTST as well, complete with "For Sale" signs? It's another Skyline........
  12. SAU are still attending this, right? Can I come and play?
  13. Just thought I would post up a link to the ad for my GTS-T in the For Sale forum, in case any one local is looking for an R33. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/19...ut-t261073.html I really wish I could keep it, but hopefully it will find a good home
  14. This was my first Skyline and is reluctantly up for sale as I have recently bought a GTR, and for some strange reason the missus thinks 4 cars is too many So, here's the details. 1996 ECR33 GTS-T Type M Sonic Silver Automatic transmission Turbocharged 2.6 litre DOHC 6 cylinder (RB25DET) 117,774km ACT Registered until October 2009 Purchased by second Australian owner (me) Sept 2004 with 41,000km Imported from Japan with 32,000km Serviced every 5000km with quality parts and lubricant Running standard boost HKS front mount intercooler X-Force 3" turbo back exhaust K&N hi-flow pod filter with heat shield partition Standard airbox with new filter cartridge included Splitfire coil packs NGK Iridium plugs New timing belt New Idler/Tensioner pulleys New A/C, Alt and P/S belts New O2 sensor 18" Shadow Chrome Starcorp wheels Maxxis 235/40ZR18 MA-Z1 tyres in good condition Whiteline blade adjustable front/rear swaybars Whiteline springs Bilstein height adjustable shocks Aust Standards approved immobiliser Pioneer CD/MP3 head unit Pioneer/Clarion speakers Levoc A/T shifter Single pillar pod with boost gauge Vehicle has a couple of minor paint blemishes and stonechips , but otherwise is in superb condition. 15. That's great, I hope they didn't do too much damage. Any word on the others? Apart from the original post, they haven't been mentioned......
  16. Yeah, I had heard much the same - the timer itself isn't illegal, but walking away and leaving your car running certainly is. In Qld it's defined as 3 metres, not sure about ACT as we tend to just blindly follow whatever the RTA does. And I have heard of insurance companies denying claims when the vehicle had one fitted, so it pays to make sure they know you have one.
  17. Cops did show last night, not sure what time though. I got called into work and they were still there when I drove by on the way home. They were there again this morning in numbers. Has anyone heard if any of the cars turned up yet? There are a sh1tload of people living in that complex, someone must have seen the cars and know which "residents" were working on them.
  18. That sounds very close to where they tried to snatch mine. Exactly where in Griffith guys, I feel like a drive........ Actually, a PM would be better.
  19. I guess japanese imports are seen as a relatively easy target these days. It's common knowledge that most won't have any sort of factory fitted immobiliser, and that there is a reasonable chance the owners may not have fitted aftermarket security. The parts are also easy to offload, just look how quickly things are snapped up on the For Sale forums here, and the prices people are willing to pay. Not to mention the money some people spend on accessories like head units etc. Compare that to more modern Oz delivered cars that have been required to have immobilisers fitted as standard since 2001. I'd be interested to know what sort of security systems the latest round of stolen Skylines had fitted, if any. Read an interesting statistic recently - apparently around 70% of car thefts these days are done using the vehicles keys, usually after a burglary or other means. I guess that indicates how difficult modern factory immobilisers are for the average basic car thief to bypass.
  20. I dunno Mick, maybe it's their only form of transport so they have no choice but to drive it to work. And if they work in the City, I can't think of too many open public car parks that I would consider safe. I guess there's always the multi-story car parks where you need a ticket to get in and out, and they supposedly have CCTV and security patrols, but i've heard of quite a few cars getting knocked off from those as well.
  21. Looking into those at the moment, but two different installers have told me that the remote immobiliser function is illegal in OZ, probably due to the risk of causing an accident if you killed the engine if the vehicle is in heavy traffic at the time. Will do some more research on that and post up the findings, although I realise that some people may be less concerned about the legailty of it vs securing their ride, which is fair enough.....
  22. Just a quick update. Spoke to the witness this morning, the culprits were two males, late teens - early twenties. One had bleached hair and was wearing a white tshirt and white trackpants, the other had a cap on and all dark clothing. As soon as the alarm went off they bolted down the road about two blocks, and jumped in an older model dark blue sedan. It was too far away to see clearly, but she thinks it was a commodore or falcon. AFP Forensic came out and dusted for prints, took some pics and a DNA swab this morning, but it will take some time to get the results (if any) back. My commiserations to the poor bugger who wasn't so lucky yesterday......
  23. Lock away your Skylines boys and girls.......... This afternoon a couple of low-lives tried to break into my GTR in broad daylight on a relatively busy street. They had pulled the weatherstrip off the passenger side door (yes, I know weatherstrips are gay) and were trying to get the door open when the alarm went off. Luckily someone from work happened to be driving past at that moment and saw them, so they took off before any real damage was done. The witness got a good look at them, and the car they left in. They also left an excellent set of dusty fingerprints on the inside top window glass, so hopefully they will be tracked down before too many more cars get done. The old ute is looking good as a daily driver now. If anyone has had a chance to look into the GPS/GSM options from the other thread, could you maybe PM me some info? I feel very sorry for those who haven't been quite so lucky lately.........
