  1. This should fit a V36 Sedan right?
  2. Yeah, I wanted to offer him something for this one too, but he didn't reply to his other post so I'm assuming he already sold it or doesn't care about it.
  3. Will this fit a V36 Sedan too?
  4. Hi OP, I speak from experience for this one. I have imported a GTR specifically but I have gone through the process. You won't get a great indicative pricing on how much it'll cost you landed and complied. There are a lot of things that come into play. It also depends on how much you're willing to spend here. You won't be able to feel the car, nor test it. All you've got are a couple dozen pictures, an auction sheet and the company you have hired to help you with the process. Honestly though, you might find that it can be a hit and miss situation, you'll find awesome cars, bid too low and lose it to another buyer or bid too high for a car that doesn't have all the goodies you wanted in the first place. If you have a good idea of what you exactly want then a company like Iron Chef Imports etc can help you find something equivalent or close to it. Especially for a GTR which doesn't come around too often, you might spend months looking for one that will suit you. Then after you pick your car, you'll have to go through the import and compliance process which can take a month or two as well, depending on the amount of work that needs to be done to the car and the RAWS queue. During the compliance stage, the car has to be returned to stock for inspection so this may set you back some dollars if the compliance shop isn't well equipped etc. Once again, if you find a reputable company for imports I'm sure this won't be too much of a problem. All in all, you pay for what you get most of the time. If an R34 GTR cost you $35k to import then something is definitely wrong with the car, whether it be R/RA conditioned or just mechanically crap. Find a reputable agent to help you import, one that has the right contacts for what you're trying to import and you'll be fine! Good luck!
  5. Hey All, My 2011 370gt Type S is waiting at the docks in Japan at the moment. Thought I'd throw up a few pictures of the bone stock car. It's looking amazing so far. It's only done about 7000kms so it hasn't been driven too much at all bit of a pity. Hopefully this doesn't equate to poor maintenance and other associated problems. Either way, I'll be taking her in for a check up once I get it registered.
  6. if you're looking for Jap cars you can use http://www.j-spec.com.au/ They regularly update their site with the cars up for auction in Japan. I'm importing my car at the moment through Iron Chef. It really depends on what type of car you're trying to import. If you can tell us exactly what you're looking for then we can direct you to the appropriate person/company to help you out.
  7. Yeah, I was gutted too... I believe I was off by a few hundred? Troy from Iron Chef.
  8. Finally found a 370gt that I liked. It'll be shipped on the 4th of July and arriving on the 24th of July. Took me about 3 months to finally get one. Lost a lot of bids and even saw a mint 55th anniversary go by too... Awesome experience so far and can't wait to drive her home from the work shop in August. I'll add pics of her as soon as I can!
  9. That is absolutely insane luck! I read your blog as well, it is extremely well written and exciting to read. I'm still waiting for the right one to come by. But, hopefully my patience pays off! Yeah, I heard the compliancing stage can be relatively quick at times though! Hopefully everything moves smoothly..
  10. Hi All, I'm new to the forum here. I decided to take a leap and import from Japan. Shout out to the chef for this one - been an awesome experience so far. Been looking for a v36 for about a month now and I have seen some sweet cars go by (didn't have a big enough budget to fight for it) and some not so great. What was your experience with finding a beauty and how long did you take to search for it? Cheers, Puggy
