  1. No, it is not multi-zone. Any takers? Schmick dvd player.
  2. Dont know. I will check, although the higher brands have a habit of protecting their other markets, so I doubt it. But I shall check
  3. Price is $350 now, but it makes no economic sense to drop any lower... If any one is interested, just reply. Thanks guys.

    hello tasmania

K, Zsky Well, looks like it may just be Monkey Chow cruising, as I really want to get out and about to Hobart this weekend. You guys let me know when you are available next.... SLaz
  5. Hmmm.... Looks like the Do-Luck 180sx Demo car to me.... I want that kit. Have a look at some of the D-Style kits, or the Wise Sports kits. Here: http://www.abroad-limited-company.co.jp/newpage1.html Slaz
  6. Crazy, Yeah, original packaging. All original, never been used. Actually had $1000 deposit down on a Panasonic 102cm Rear projection and bought the DVD player as well. But, I bought a front mount and exhaust, so I bailed on the TV, but I had already bought the DVD player. As i do not have a TV, it is not a huge use to me. However, as I already have lost $100 on it at $400, I do not think I would let it go for $250, as I may as well hold on to it for future use..... Sorry dude, but I am sure you would understand.... Thanks though, Slaz.

    hello tasmania

Hmmm, for the next three weekends after, I will be working the Saturday. Could be a problem. But, when you are up, drop me a line, and at the very least, we can cruise in Lonnie on Sat night. Zsky, will be finalising times in the next day or two. I will keep you posted.... Slaz

    Cruise?

Yeah, I know the feeling. When I was selling my starlet, I was askinga very reasonable price for it, yet nobody seemed to want it. Until it was sold, of course.... Just keep plugging away. Try advertising in Unique cars, as being a collectors item, there will be someone in Australia looking for a good example. REstricting yourself to the Tassie market is bound to restrict your selling potential. Oh yeah, I will keep trying, but most people are interested in outright performance for the dollars, and for around that price, they can get an R32, Silvia, 180sx, etc. Not quite as rare.... And if you do happen to sell your car, I can get really good cars in for not a lot of money..... I shall have pics up soon of my 180 and my friends Silvia that had heaps of good bits for a small price. Also, I can send you pics of previously bought R32s if you would like.
  9. Anyone? really need to sell...

  13. Hey guys, Genuine sale..... Addiction to horsepower forces sale of my Yamaha DVD player. Still in box, never used (ever). Was part of my home theatre buildup, but instead of a TV i chose a front mount for my 180.... Worth $500, selling for $400. Whaddya Reckin?
  14. Nah Ryan JL suck! (sorry, in-joke down here. A little competition with a friend who works at Autobarn) . No, really I think I am safe here, so I can say the JL is a nice warm subwoofer. Haha, Ultimate seems like you have too much money Soundstream Da Vinci subs? You may have to go direct to the distributor for that, I imagine if they are as rare as the amps, that there would not too many kicking around.... I will stick with my Focal for now. I really like their sound and besides, being a dealer for them, I can get them much cheaper! I am actually considering running some Peerless home audio drivers with some dummy loads to get them down to four ohms. Their 6.5 inch drivers sound awesome, as do their tweeters. And they have sealed back 4 inch mids, which would be very easy to install..... Hmmmm.......
  15. You misunderstand me, Ultimate. First of all, I agree with your 'MTX sucks' comment. The ultimate in sound quality would be to have a completely flat response across the entire frequency range. I have said that if you have a good set of splits set up correctly you can have a better than average bass response from them. This allows a greater freedom when it comes to subwoofer selection. A ten inch subwoofer may have been selected because its upper bass response is flatter than a 12 inch. In that context, if your splits have sufficent mid bass response, you can select a larger subwoofer to cover the lower frequencies better. I agree with you that there are some very good 10 inch subwoofers out there that can go amply deep enough, but if you compare a 10 inch sub witha 12 inch subwoofer from the same range, invariably the 12 inch will have the deeper response; hence better overall frequency coverage; hence better sound quality. 3 way splits are better, as in a perfect world, we would have about a thousand speakers all tuned to their little piece of the frequency range. However, I was talking about a simple option of two way splits up front and a single sub down back. I was trying to get the best response as possible with these components. I do agree with your point of listening to as many different setups as possible to decide what sound you want. For the sake of space, my previous post would be about the first that did not have that comment in it. And I did not recommend the Polyglass splits. Only the sub. One of the better SQ subs for the money, in my opinion. And yes, Utopia are better, but I was offering a value for money option. All a matter of taste, as you said.
  16. Well, I can understand that as 12 seconds is REALLY slow...... I suppose I will have to get a 3037 or a GT30 or something then.... Reckon that would be enough to keep up? :shake:
  17. Someone has something against MTX? But, have to agree... Anyway, if your front splits are good enough quality and set up right, then they should go low enough to allow a larger sub, hence a more even response across a greater frequency range hence better sound....you can still get a 12 (or 13) inch sub that will fit in a 1 foot cubed box and sound awesome doing it. BUT It all depends on your amplifier and your front stage. Better to match sonic signature with what you have up front..... I love the Focal gear..... a lot of the more commercial brands can tend to rely on marketing and name branding to sell their subs than sound quality. A lot of the time, it is a false economy to go with something mainstream. Before I send you to sleep... I recommend the Focal Polyglass 33v. 13 inch sub, sealed enclosure, awesome sound quality for the money. I have one in my setup. Slaz.
  18. Hey Rick, how are things? Did you get that off Kaos Racing? Dude, I thought that Jeremy's Skyline was tuff enuff, but that turbo looks awesome! :P
  19. Cruise is postponed. We have postponed the wedding until January, so the cruise shall be moved accordingly. If this interests anybody, even slightly, just get in contact with me. I assure fun for all, and a great bunch of awesome roads. So far, Squizz is the only one who has shown interest on this site. C'mon guys, I don't smell that badly do I? And I don't bite. Much. Just nibble, heheh..... If anyone has any ideas regarding logistics or events during the cruise, PM me, reply to this thread or email me at davidverney1@email.com. Even if two people turn up, this cruise will be going ahead..... Thanx guys......
  20. Excuse my ignorance, but are not mechanical incabin gauges illegal? How much for the Exhaust temp gauge? Will email you as well.... Slaz.
  21. Focal? Overrated? Hmmm.... someone wants to get into a debate..... Seriously though, I will sound like a broken record... but go the splits and a decent amplifier. If you spend a little time setting them up, you can get surprisingly good bass response from them. And unlike most systems, which have "thump and scream" tendencies, a good set of splits will really fill the car with loud clear sound that doesn't become fatiguing to the ears. Anyway, my personal faves are the Focal range. Utopia are awesome (the World IASCA Champion used focal) and the PolyKevlar are awesome too. Bostons are sweet, Dynaudio phenomonal. If you want good sound quality at a lower price, from my experience the lower Focal range is awesome value for money. Polyflex splits are about $350 and in a comparison, beat the top of the line Sony, Alpine and JL audio.... Bottom line, go somewhere where you can hear them, and have a listen yourself. Best test there is. It is your sound, so make sure you pick something you like.... Cheers, Slaz....
  22. :what: :what: 5 inch?!?! I thought the 4 inch on the Silvia I sold to my friend was big..... I guess size does matter..... Oh, and 3037? Sweet..... I have to get me one.

    Cruise?

Not yet dude. Car was picked up in Brisbane today, so only have to wait until next wednesday!!!! I have been waiting since 1st February for a car, and now the wait is OVER! Anywho, the Silvia that I was importing for a friend is a bit of a beast. Talk of the town at the moment. So, I will be cruising down next weekend. Any suggestions when and where? I don't know how many people will be going, but we shall see. Oh, no news yet about your car? I am drawing a blank up here, so no help yet, but I will keep trying. Have you considered putting it in the private classifieds here on Skylines Australia? Keep in touch, Slaz.
