Orphanage My son brought some of his old toys over from Australia to give to orphans in Bali. The happiness simple things like tennis balls brought to these kids just blew me away. Hai Frens, Recently my son and I went to Bali for 2 weeks. Cheap cheap but fun. I took some pics. Camera used was a nikon d100 with tamrom 28-300 lens. I need a wider lens as 28 was not really enough for landscape shots, but I made do with what I had. Let me know what you think. Photos have been massively resized to ensure fast download on SAU. First set: Mount Batur: Mount Batur (Gunung Batur) is an active volcano located at the center of two concentric calderas north west of Mount Agung, Bali, Indonesia. My son and I climbed this mountain/volcano at around 2am. It took 2.5 hours to get to the top of the 1.8km high volcano. The picture of the route we would climb. This was located in the tour guides shake at the base of the mountain. The one we went up was the highest one on the right (in the pic) Top of Mount Batur looking down through the clouds to the village lights below. Being able to see how far down the village is below the clouds shows you just how high up we were. The wall near the shack at the top. To the right is a massive drop down. At this point it was pretty dark so I used a long shutter exposure time to capture as much light as possible - hence the blurred people as they move too much Waiting for the sun to rise, also trying out different settings on the slr. It was still dark around this time, but the long exposure time allowed for as much light as possible. Looking down below... once the clouds had cleared you could see just how high up we were Bali Bike Ride We went on a mountain bike ride through the mountain area and then down through one of Bali's oldest villages. New Building being constructed. Random walk way's (I used my compact pentax for these shots for convenience. Rural farms: This place had heaps of fighting cocks.
