just installed a setup on a farm wrt54gl with dd-wrt on 150mw used a 10dbi omni antenna mounted on a mast 15 metres AGL. picked up a solid link up on a hill 11km away using a flat panel directional antenna. Did not do thoroughput test though Was able to make a quality skype video call.

srsly though next time i have an open acetylene bottle in my car, I'll make sure I don't use power windows.
