  1. Wow, some real thought went into this car! I wish i wasnt missing so many of the cool std options (aka, wish mine had been full opt)
  2. Yeh, certainly, shouldnt be too much either... Ill see when i powerdercoat like 5 as i think several people would be interested
  3. Is this Gary from Blackburn Nissan? He is the guy I deal with all the time for Stagea parts.. haha Why wouldnt S2 door sills fit the S1? They are the same body but the fronts arnt they?
  4. Were all R33 GTR gearboxes Pull type? Also, is an engine harness something difficult to change, or just a matter of unplugging a lot of things and plugging in the new harness. For my RS4, would it be fine to use a GTST (more available) harness with ABS, is there any problems with the 4WD? Thanks, Alex
  5. I called the guy, yes, its powedercoating the whole strut bar, the strut tops and the centre bar. So yeh, if your interested, ill get that done for you too. Flat black like mine (gloss stands out too much)
  6. yay! the Melbourne stagea clan is growing 6+1=7!! When abouts are you coming down?
  7. I was actually going to buy an original one, but i found this one and it would have cost me wayy less then the one in japan 4000Y + $80 EMS + USED and some rust Soo, for people in Aus without the strut bar, this is a good alternative i would say. IMO the black looks better then the silver, it doesnt draw the eye to the strut bar in any way. Regardless, i was surprized what a difference it made when installed...
  8. Yeh, we can all talk about towbars at the meet...only 1.5 week away now
  9. Its ok, i am going out that way this week anyway. For an extra $5 i can get it all done in black like mine, i think powdercoated everything (more durable then paint) but ill have to confirm this. Ill bring yours to the meet so we can exhange $$ and strut bars then
  10. Then i guess it may be best if i went and spoke to them myself about it, because SK has a 1.5tonne tow bar on his car and i dont think he mentioned anything about lowering the muffler etc. Also, not sure how it will affect me as ive got/will have an aftermarket exhaust. As before, best to go and let em have a look. We can have a group buy with 3 people cant we ! Nothing stops us! hehe
  11. What did that set you back. I would want something to pull 1500kg (track car or stock) Maybe we can organize a Melbourne group buy type thing, if we all want similar things? Im sure some of the other guys want towbars too? I guess we'll speak more in depth at the meet
  12. Ok, So for realistic purposes, i may be better off to get some custom axles machined up by someone in just thicker diameter metal and stronger alloy? Add a NISMO GT PRO LSD to the mix and that should mean overall improved strength i suppose... Do you have any info on how the ATESSA would hold up with increased power? What problems can arise and what are the consiquences of the ATESSA going?
  13. What did you have to do to convert the rear end to GTR? Is it just a rear GTR diff and axle stubs? They all bolt in perfect etc? New driveshaft? I mean, the power i will chase in the end, id like to at least be prepared as youve said stagea axles are tiny..
  14. haha, im such a cheap ass 3 party, no fire or theft (it was 250 extra and they would any pay me out 3k max.) Full comp, $2600 with JCI, no one else would do it. Thats with mods too BTW, 18 yo (got licence on my bday, april 29)(made the calls when i got the car 2 months ago), clean history (or lack there-of) Ill get full comp next year, probably around the same time i get new turbine as i could see a parttern arise after a new turbo...sigh
  15. Ill try and take a photo when i have some spare time. My dash (white lights) are not as brigh as say the park brake light, or the other lights on the dash. Would be as there are four lights for the whole dash, and independent lights for each of those... iono... Ill get a photo
  16. Nice, Now these are my next purchase, after my manual conversion, my new turbine, my new shocks/springs/bushes etc... God, i really love my stagea...or at least i must
  17. Oh, by the way, there is nothing wrong with realism, as i am also a realist. Its only when pesimisim gets in the way when it turns a good situation sour
  18. Ditching the auto, manual parts are being sourced as we speak and closely speaking to my workshop about it etc. Also they are inspecting Ian's manual s2 for ideas. Ill definatly be swaping driveline parts out as i go, unfortunatly as power mods have developed heaps over the past 10 years...driveshafts havnt really come far. As for ATTESSA, what happends if the transfer case (or whatever it is) totally fails? Do i just only have RWD 100% or are there big losses? - re my rubbing, my friend suggested that it could be the turbo gasket having cracked, producing a whine type noise?
  19. My dash dimmer is located right next to the streering column between the climate control sucker thing and the column. my car was complied at NIZMO pty ltd, maybe different complaince places do it differently, however, i dont see how that works. I am going to remove my dimmer switch anyway, ATM, im trying to find replacement LED's with a wideangle, but the T2 std is very rarely used (go figure with a stagea)
  20. Damn... Plan B then, brighter globes... Cant hurt to cut it out of the act anyway...why the HELL would i want it dimmer then std anyway...stupid law!
  21. Ill try and do that for you, but the guy that i would have to pick it up from is in Monbulk, im in Blackburn. So... not sure about you know, me picking it up for you....
  22. Standard or boosted? Std its a slug by my standards. I would honestly say around the 8's somewhere. With just increase to 10psi maybe low 7's...but my trans suck
  23. You have had your standard one removed? Its not big difference over std i presume, but from nothing to something its good. In melb id be happy to spray it with you, takes an afternoon though (1 hour per layer you know). I did 2 primer layer, 3 overcoats on strut tops and 4 on the bar
  24. Ok, here is an update!! I FOUND ONE I was able to test fit this one before i fitted it, so i knew what i was buying. Its for an R33 GTST. It originally came in red strut tops and a blue anodized cross bar, but i sprayed them all in matt black. Due to the strut tops on the stagea, and the full circle tops on the brace, i spaced it with a washer on each stud and it fits perfect As for performance difference, you guys that have always had a strut brace take it for granted! The car tucks into corners much much better now. Initial turn in is greatly improved. Takes round-a-bouts much harder now too.. YAY! If anyone else wants one, i got mine for $75 pickup. Im not sure about shipping either... but im sure i could arrange it. Id personally say that matt black looks better then standard...only a can of primer and two $3 cans of spray paint can go a long way.
  25. Ok well, i am really starting to think about rebuilding the standard turbo just because i dont want to change anything else at the same time. Infact, i think the path i will take is to buy a 2nd hand R33 turbo and then get it rebuilt, but my question is, is there anything that i can do to get to make even more power in addition to the 250 odd awkw?? Also, i have a feeling that my problem at the moment isnt 100% my trans but i think it could also be my turbo rubbing on itself somehow, but not too certain about that. Anyway, i was thinking it may be because it isnt getting enough oil at low RPM's so my oil lines could be somehow blocked, would it be difficult to replace the oil lines at the same time with aftermarket braided line(benefits??) Thanks on the info, so rebuild would cost around 2,000+ turbo cost = 2500 inc shipping all around etc... I may also go talk to a shop around here when i get the time.
