  1. Ditto to the above, it f**ks up the central locking. Just break the speaker. I dont mind it 99% of the time, but its that 1% of the time that it gives me the shtis that i want to break it. In essence though, its a good idea.
  2. Ahhh, the typical "Ive found some wires, wtf do they do" kinda thread! Cant wait for some results.
  3. Cooler - Yes Dump - Yes. Dont forget, R33/R34 are the same.
  4. JESUS CHRIST MAN Honestly, you are one lucky son of a bitch. I swear to god, if we wernt both driving volvos, we probably both wouldnt be here. Has the car got full comp insurance? or is this just a lot of money down the drain? Now comes the serious questions, and this is the way it always work. Have you bought the wreck back from the insurance company? Are you parting it out? What do you want to sell the entire wreck for? Parts of particular interest to me - AIR DEFLECTORS!!! (I've got dibs!) - Your rear diff (complete diff inc housing, going to weld it/drop front shaft for some RWD fun) - Handbrake pads (If in decent condition, I need new handbrake pads) Thats about all for now, but yeh, the rear diff is the most important to me.
  5. That flaring wont be from the valve body but just worn bands.
  6. i am probably just going to drop the drive shaft and weld the rear diff for a while. Which reminds me, cruise you have PM about your diff!
  7. Friday night, mmmmmmmmmm, my posse might be out at that time. What about mid afternoon? Like around 4 or 5? Through to like 8-9? I might just turn up for the meet then back off to my gang.
  8. Yes, but you dont get the same noise. You really need to hear a VL to understand what a proper dose is I think.
  9. PM sent
  10. Two questions Where in AUS is it going to? Are you going to get wheels for it? Seriously, I REALLY want to buy some stock 260RS wheels. Sell them to me...
  11. Clearly, its because it sounds sick
  12. I highly highly doubt you have 13mm of ground clearance Cyrus. Thats 1.3cm mate! I've got 100mm (the legal minimum here in VIC) at a few points in the car. Tempted to lower it slightly more, but then my brand new jack wont fit under the cross member any more... decisions decisions.
  13. Ok, Uhh, How to explain this. So Holden made VL's..... Ok na, really. A dose is when you remove the BOV and use a metal pipe staight off the turbo inlet to create different pitches of flutter. The ideal dose pipe puts the AFM in the cooler piping and runs no air filter. This is something that almost ALL VL's do. Video examples http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoVGIimDcnQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGrNhgMNZg8 Different noises's/reverb can be created with different bends/size/material pipes.
  14. minimike40, cute
  15. no valve and a metal intake pipe you dont have VL turbos with dose pipes in NZ? I wonder if they have dose pipes in Japan
  16. Oh yeh, I learnt to keep a good 5+ second dose if I wanted to. I am going to get a metal intake pipe made with a provision for my stock BOV, as even with my stock BOV, my car still flutters. Will let everyone know the results as well, from a performance point of view.
  17. Brad had a VL with an RB26, now ive got a Stagea with an RB30! No, thats lies....but I do have a wagon that doses its ass off! Got bored after a few days, plus, the lack of a BOV kept causing the car to be drivin like a manual to keep the revs up, which equals not auto box friendly. Good for a few laughs on Friday night though
  18. Uhh, id say let the gearbox decide whats good for it, the computer knows a lot more about itself than we do.
  19. We met at the servo on springvale road a few weeks ago, just forgot your username for now so I cant PM you. Anyone know his username? Ta
  20. Mate, I beg to differ on that point 100%. The 2005 Camry is the Series 2 model of the 03/04/05 generation of Camry. I own both a Nissan Stagea with the FULL suspension kit from SK and also a 2003 V6 Manual Camry Spotivo. To be honest, I am happy to take either of them up into the hills as they are both very well handling cars. I went on cruises with various cars and Id always lead as usual, where many people would laugh at me at the start when I said "follow the Camry", yet at the end id get questions like "how do you keep those corner speeds". The one downside of the Camry is the lack of power in areas, specially uphill (Compared to my turbo Stag) and also it does have slight oversteer issues on corner entries, but that is fixable by proper driving. And, FWD cars dont suck as much as everyone says they do, maybe those people just need to drive good FWD cars... Anyway, good luck toyota.
  21. You know why splitfires are bought by people with crapped out coils? Go ring Nissan and find out how much Genuine coilpacks are The dont do squat compared to a good set of standards...
  22. S2's got better flow to the cooler, check out the picture in my sig
  23. LOL, whats the shit fight starting over. I am not particularly looking at selling my car, just want to understand the mindset behind people that are buying cars, and stageas in particular. The reason I started this thread is because I see a lot of people selling their stageas, with heaps up on carsales and at dealers (something like 20-30 for sale, with only 350 in the country is a big % for sale) and thought people might need some advice. So the points we have found so far: - As long as its done properly the car being modded should be OK - Alternative is not a half modded car, but a stock stock car - Mods done in a clean and tidy manor
  24. I think he was refering to Ian aka Humble, who's stock wheels I am currently borrowing.
