  1. Hmm, i guess if i had a good tuner around here for that i might think about it, but i have a good PFC tuner so i guess it all depends. Also, i have a stock manual R33 GTST ecu to revert if i need to diagnose. Let you all know how it goes.
  2. Ian will look into it, i am certain. Ill have no use for the ECU, so out the door it can go.
  3. Well, my auto ECU should be available for testing IF I CAN FIND A BLOODY GEARBOX! Ill donate my stock ECU to testing when i convert, as i have a stock R33 ECU here anyway that ill use as i am changing the harness plug
  4. Ian - Too late now, already bought a PFC What benefits would i have with a remap? - daughterboard? Al - Ill be at many more meetings etc from now on
  5. i got a fuji legalis R, not super. Its mega mega quite, just above stock in "loudness" but it flows way more and looks good too. Its 84db at 4800rpm could be a tad restrictive for HIGH power. i might get my mid muffler cut out, flanges welded onto the each end, so i can put it on/off.
  6. As soon as i can find someone selling a bloody r32/33 GTR gearbox with transfer case and shifter, + 2 weeks labour. But at this point, ill have a powerFC so no logging etc... I am sure it isnt too different to some midnight action on a country road, we can arrange something one night before manualizing?
  7. I want a flowing front bar like that dammit! NIce car mate, very nice
  8. Stock ECU, stock auto box with my screwed torque converter (it woo's a lot, since my going in revserse down a hill when in D) I want to weigh the car soon, see what it is. We should start a 1/4 mile thread, but i dont think anyone/only few others have been down the 1/4..?
  9. No too sure what it was stalling up too. It was probably around the 2500-2750 RPM range. Because I didnt do a burnout, i had a long time to stage. So id roll up, stage, gear 1, handbrake, hand on release, get ready, wait for other guy to stage, stall, booost boost boost, handbrake/brake off, floor it, hand on gearstick, shift at 6k
  10. Here is my thread in the Stagea forum, http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=101824 best was 14.7@92mph Not too shabby if I say myself. Standard SS's and XR6T's were just not able to crack into the 14's, they were doing low 15's. So... there we go. I got there about 5:00, had four runs by 7 and then left just as Bass just arrived as it was getting wayy too busy/cbf'ed running more times...i knew what my beast was capable of
  11. Well, all you guys know my Stageea and basically whats done to it. I have split front/dump from batmbl, $440 catco cat from him too, fuji catback (very quite, with mid muffler), FMIC (not really power mod), pipercross panel filter (again, minor) and was using 10psi of boost....all untuned. These are all my power mods, the rest is all chassis/handling . So its not TOO far off a stock car, mid mods. Not sure what power to expect with that, but i think somewhere around the 140awkw mark maybe? Just because the catback is really quiet, its also a tad restrictive. No worries to me. So, the runs I did were Run 1: 2.475 60 foot [email protected] This run was my first ever at a drag strip, i was peaking. I made some mistakes rushing things and got a poor launch. Also, O/D was off Run 2: 2.139 60 foot [email protected] This was text book. I didnt rush at the lights, reaction time was 4 seconds because i was spooling. Handbrake on, till it was creeping... launch! Run 3: 2.414 60 foot [email protected] ....I launched and forgot the handbrake on. Run 4: 2.196 60 foot [email protected] Again, this was a good launch, built boost, o/d was on for run 2/3/4 as it seemed better. So, best was 14.7@92mph Not too shabby if I say myself. Standard SS's and XR6T's were just not able to crack into the 14's, they were doing low 15's. So... there we go. Anyone else want to post up a list of mdos and also ET's and trap speeds? I went to the drags to test my car pre manualizing. Ill post up in this thread when i get my car dynoed pre manual and let everyone know my power. Then after the manual ill chuck it on the dyno and let everyone know my power, then off to the drags again. But this car isnt being modded to going in a staight line, remember that, but it will sure hold its own on the street...specially in the wet. Cheers
  12. The one in dadny is from plunket road car sales.
  13. Owned Airbag thingy? Is it an airbag or what? If it is, how the hell did they do that converting to manual
  14. Well, Daz just pulled out of meeting up, so ill just be heading through maccas to get some food etc. If you see me, then come up and say hi, otherwise, ill just get some food and be off. I hope to run low 14's. We shall see.
  15. I will be at nunawading maccas at 3:45 ok. Look for the guy in the wagon Ill have to pick up a mate from resivoir on the way, but if there are only like 2-3 of us maybe you guys will come with, else, we'll split up on bell street. See you there tomorrow everyone.
  16. What tyres? What offsets and what widths?
  17. Id be heading probably eastern freeway, accross the top of the city, calder freeway, calder park We could meet at a maccas or something sure. Semi RWD..whats that? ATESSA like moi?
  18. BAH, who cares about rain? Oh wait... you guys have RWD... hehe j/k Well, if there are like, a couple of us from out east way, how about we meet up somewhere and cruise together? If we plan route there, we can make a meet point? I am good to leave any time really, but not too early. Maybe 3-4pm at the earliest.
  19. Well, my technique - Put on the hand brake really hard. As hard as you wanna launch - Push brake with left foot, as hard as above - Put into 1 with O/D off - Hold left hand on handbrake release - Accel till the car starts to creep a tiny bit, then hold around that area - Release left foot/left hand/floor it all at once - Shift ~6k into 2 - Shift ~6k into D - At 200 put O/D on (never done that yet) I can get some pretty hard launches this way. There have been a few times when I have 1->N->D by accident, without really lifting off, resulting in a chirp. The stupid shifter doesnt need to press the button when going up gear, but then from D->N it goes without the button too, causing mis shifts (sounds funny to speak of in an auto) Enjoy mate. PS. Lauch on some grass/dirt, a lot more fun loosing traction ill tell ya
  20. Does anyone think its a stupid idea to run different widths front/back. Ive found some cheap wheels, but they are 7.5 fronts and 8.5 rears. As long as i match rolling, but its never PERFECT....not sure what to do
  21. I must be the only auto driver that gives it to it ey. I am a auto gear-change fanatic, always 1-2-D to go fast, sometimes downshift slowing down to lights etc. Meh, might as well torture the box while its still available.
  22. Ok, im down for sure, just want to cruise in with someone/people from out east way. What is the deal though, is there a meet point etc at calder or just go there and just maybe see eachother? Daz, you have PM regarding crusing in from GW (i am in forest hill)
  23. I know this isnt exactly stagea specific, but you know, kg's .. skylines may not be the same I rev out first gear all the way about maybe 4-8 times a day, hitting the rev limiter maybe ~2 times a day. I drive maybe 50-70km a day through suburbia (dont go on any freeways) I know this isnt something to brag about, but i am just interested in how everyone else drives. I still manage fuel economy in the order of 15L/100km
  24. I cant really get it to slide unless i am doing a uturn. Stock suspension i found was not too bad through twities, it was the brakes that let me down. Need more power, or to disable the front wheels if i want to start making entries.
  25. For anyone that slides around in the wet, the suspension kit is a MUST. Before the car has pretty crappy weight transfer and i was opposite locking a lot. From lock to lock to lock to lock. Now the baby just slides soooo smooth. I can hold bigger, longer, more angle slides with much much less stress. Good work!
