My series 2 Stagea developed a rattle in the front passenger's window glass. Despite having no idea of where the problem might lie I found it dead easy to fix. All you need are flat head and phillips screwdrivers and a 13mm ring spanner. You'll find two phillips head screws along the bottom of the door trim and another one under a black plastic cap near the top end of the grab handle. This cap comes off with the flat head screwdriver. Remove the three screws, unclip the plastic surround for the door handle, undo another phillips head screw which you'll find under the top of the surround and lift the entire trim off the door. There is no need to disconnect the wiring as there is enough slack to allow the panel to be moved aside. Removing the door trim will reveal two adjustable fabric pads on sliding metal brackets located just below the sill of the window. Undo the 13 mm hex head screws that retain the brackets and slide the pads higher and closer to give greater contact with the glass. Operate the electric window mechanism to make sure it's not too tight. Reverse the assembly and road test.
