    That's nice good on ya bro. I have an auto selector in the headlight switch and it does the same. It turns off the light when the key is pulled out and turns it automatically on when you turn the key on. And of course it works when it gets dark as there's sensors on each..it's a factory thing.

    Thanks guys just make sure the shiny coating is still left otherwise it won't shine as you can see on the hangers on the second pic.

    I used steel wool to start with. Took off the rough bits then used the cutting compound and buffed if with a orbital buffing machine. It did the trick.
