    Need Help!

use a big screw driver jambed in there like a lever. oh and a shiteload of elbow grease after a cup of concrete.
  4. i got sick of the cooler pipe blowing off so i went nuts with hose clamps like this. http://www.norma.net.au/norma-gbs.html NEVER lost a pipe since!
  5. i knew it! i wasnt 100% certain it was the pipe seams i have an R32 but when my car did exactly what yours was doing it turned out to be the intercooler pipe on the intake side. heavy duty hose clamps fixed this problem for me. great news mate! im having a beer right now to celebrate the good news!
  6. Grant mate. Its never a good sign to see a bonnet up and bits sitting everywhere..... Jack has always looked after the guys. ive come close to needing his services myself. perfect time for the upgrades though mate and i hope it all turns out well. next time ill sit down and have a few beers with ya

    Black Stuff

lol! i have a double garage with black patches on the back wall to match and a massive black patch at mums on the gates. oh yeah
  9. I was gonna be there but im guessing that after discovering a small injector leak and estimating a loss of around 10 litres between Berwick and Pakky, i dont thihnk its a good idea to drive the GTR....
  10. Hey. The gas were talking bout is known as either Hychill or HR12. A lot of A/C places will try to talk you out of it cos they dont know much about it themselves or have had too much R134a crap thrown at them to know any better. HR12 is essentially a natural refrigerant replacement for the old R12 systems that we have in R32's. The HR12 works a lot better then the R134a stuff. Enough for you to cool a can in front of your air vent! it also wont corrode your A/C system like R134a does. Sorry i dunno any places around your area that knows their stuff. I think my brother mentioned that his mechanic has it. ill find out soon. Good luck finding a place. I didnt really get a chance to talk to ya at the midnight cruise apart from trying to figure out where we were!. will hafta talk properly next time.
  11. not that much work to "convert" to HR12 unless the car has already been converted to R134a. if the car still has the old R12 gas in it, then it just needs to be tested etc. Degassed and regassed with HR12. Ill have a quick guess at around $300 mark? Someome correct me if im wrong please
  12. its all on you Shan! Ill get the GTR gassed up.
  13. Steves got a point. good way to find out the answer to a question is to ask.. The bolt through the centre of the balancer, turn that sucka. this turns the crank around which will turn everything else connected to it. Had your weetbixs?
  14. yay for stock GTR bovs

    Hicas Light

i agree with Russ as well. I dont have HICAS in my car. i stripped everything i could. yet every so often i get heavy steering and ive rebuilt both the rack and the pump. there is a solenoid on the rack that may have something to do with it.... ill get round to it eventually

    Hicas Light

Problems are usually caused by the most simplest things. Did you have the HICAS light come on before you changed your steering wheel? If not, try putting the stock steering wheel back on and see what happens.
  17. if it does do it again, it could most likely be the reverse lock spring that you talked about. it happened in mine. the spring from a patrol gear box works. the gearbox needs to be lowered a little to get access to the side panel. its a bitch of a job without a hoist etc. cost me i think around $300 to fix. Maybe the lock pin was out of place a little cos the spring is damaged? possibly its stuffed and its just a matter of time before it pops out completely? i drove my car for 2 weeks without reverse. lucky its a massive car park at work and i lived on a hill and could roll down the driveway backwards!
  18. ive been pulled over more times in the GTR then any other car ive driven. only pulled over cos its a sports car. Im always polite and show them respect and they leave me alone. Honestly it doesnt bother me if they pull me over. at least i know they are out there doing what they are paid for

    Hicas Light

HICAS is the rear steering in your car. that light can come on for numerous reasons.... if u see the light and wanna fix it, the easiest way is to disable it. R32s you remove the hicas rack completely and replace it with a lock bar. you can remove all of the hicas stuff with it. plumbing, hicas solenoid etc. R33s onwards are electric. just as easy to disable, just done differently.
  20. Give RE Customs a ring. Ray has a lot of spares kickin round
