Is this going to be finished before April?
-
Im wanting to soften up my suspension for a bit of weight transfer for some 1/4 work. Currently im running the green Tein suspension. Can i change stock springs for the green tein springs and still fit in the struts?
-
Would you pay $100 to rent an A/F ratio Meter?

Yep interested -
Why dont you try changing the water temp value from 50+ to 1.00. My water temp sits around the 81 degrees, but ive changed the 50+ value to 1.00 anyway. This may help your idle.
-
Your certainly right, some changes are definately needed.

Tyres are 255/40/17 Sumituno's HRZ'2s with Tein NA suspension. Has ran a 1.94 60 foot.

HKS actuator and no bleed valve.

We have finally finished tuning a 2530 on my RB25. Sorry i dont have true Dyno Dynamics figures yet to compare against my old stock turbo set up as we tuned it on a friends Dyno Max dyno. All what i can say is this has some serious midrange grunt. Enough grunt that 2nd gear roll ons spins the wheels everytime in the dry. 1st gear is pretty useless, you cannot snap second as it will spin to redline, so easing it into 2nd generally does the job. But 3rd and 4th is were it really rocks. 3rd 70kmh, gives you a nice strong shove in the back, 4th 100kmh, just as strong. Initially tuning the Power FC running 15psi, it was the strongest i had felt but after winding the boost to 18.4psi, the extra boost in the mid range makes 15psi seem slow. I think we gained 5rwkw peak with the extra boost but its the midrange that counts. Max power is now at a lowish 5,600rpm. From 5000rpm to 7000rpm its lucky to move 5rwkw. So you can see its a torque monster. From 4,000rpm to 5,000rpm is where it really moves. Still there is a strong boost drop which suggests the turbo is too small for this motor. Im getting peak boost of 18.4psi at about 4,600rpm which drops off to 13.3psi at 6500rpm. Still its holding boost around 16psi at 5,600rpm. Ive got 16psi at 3,000rpm. Time for the track, it will certainly beat my 12.98 with the stock turbo and SAFC set up, depending upon my hook up a 12.5 will be easy. Slicks and a low 12 would be easy. Have to start playing with suspension and tyre pressures to get some traction. No traction and i will lucky to beat that time but the mph will be much stronger. Overall i am very impressed with this setup, to make nearly maximum power at 5000rpm is bloody impressive. Its not going to win a dyno comp, im estimating between 230-235rwkw on a dyno dynamics dyno in shootout mode. Mods are as follows: HKS 2530, Z32, Power FC, Exhaust cam gear, custom cold air box, 3 inch dump & cat, splitfire coils.

There is no difference running your car on zero boost with the boost controller set on 10psi or 20psi, so there is no need for a different map. The power Fc is tuned at different load points and each load point represents air flow. You can trace the load points on the mapping on the Power Fc. Say, at 10psi, you are getting to load 10, then your car is tuned to load 10. If you raise your boost to say 15psi then you may reach load 12 on your power fc. Then loads 11 & 12 need to be tuned. If you get spike somwhere, you may reach load 13 at say 4500 rpm, but may drop down to load 12 at 5000rpm. Thats why you need to keep an eye on knock levels in case it hasnt been tuned there.

Take it back if your worried about it, he was most likely just richen it up in the mid range and top end or pull a bit of timing out
-
What knock are you getting on the PFC hand controller?
-
I heard it too, havent heard anythign since
-
Presently im mucking around with the TPS settings. When stock it was reading .43 on the power fc. If i go higher, the idle increases. It seems to be getting worse, the idle speed on the power fc has no influence on the revs. I think i need to do some more testing.
-
If its tuned for 12psi then it should be ok but 133 knock is a little high. The only thing i could think of if he tuned it too 9psi and now the pfc load is in the next level where he didnt tune it, but you say he did. Mine at 15psi was hitting load 15 on the power fc, but now on 18psi, it hits load 16 if you follow the trace. Trace it under 12psi, then have a look at the ignition and fuel maps and see if there is a difference between that load and the load point above it.

What level of ghosting are you getting, im getting to 16

Excelent, only 15 days to go

We got upto 207rwkw when i ran the 12.98 and that was with a SAFC 2 and no power Fc. The lowest mph with the FMIC and the rest was 105mph. I drove it hard though. Now with the 2530 its absolutely hauls ass. Big difference in power.

The cells in ignition and fuel are all equal. Dont you put your car in neutral when coming upto to a set of lights or foot in the clutch???
-
When im doing 60 and i put it in neutral and coast down to a stop, the idle hunts quickly between 1000 and 1200rpm, then its stable when i reach 20 kmh, then idles fine when i stop. When tuning the power fc on the dyno last night, it was sometimes hunting up and down at idle with the car stationary. Took the idle control valve plug off and its perfect. Put it back on and its temperamental. Can i control the Idle Control Valve with the Power Fc handcontroller?

Sumituno's 255/40/17 HRZ 11, pressure was low. PB 60' is 1.94, last outing the best i could manage was a 2.09 60' and ran 13.09. Clutch is a Daiken Exede H/Duty and have not had one ounce of slip, not bad for $400 and about a year and half worths.

I have noticed that the dip becomes greater as the more boost you put in with the standard computer. The SAFC 2 is nice at moderate boost levels. The standard computer doesnt like big boost.

Just completed a 3 hour tuning session on a dyno. Previous best was 205rwkw running a SAFC2 and HKS 2530 turbo at 17psi. Remember this was not a dyno dynamics dyno, so no shootout mode. The owner has compared his dyno (Dynomax) to a dyno dynamics and reckons his is about 7% lower. Sounds about right as my last dyno on a dyno dynamics dyno was around the 220rwkw mark with alot of peaks and troughs. So using similar to base ignition maps and tuning the fuel through the power fc load and rpm level we achieved 213,215 then 218rwkw at 18psi (equates to around 233rwkw on a dynamics dyno), which i believe would be true. The peak power is not the picture though, i can draw a straight line from 5000rpm to peak power and it only alters less than 5 rwkw. So the torque feels unbeleavable huge!!! So out on the road we go, 40kmh roll ons in second gear gets the rear spinning and screaching, not once or twice but all the time. You might think big deal i can do that too, but this is by tuning the power fc and comparing it too my old set up, SAFC 2 and this would "never happen" . A bit more fine tuning has too be done as im seeing knock in the 80's. I am very impressed with the power, especially mid range, 100 k's in 4th pulls very hard. Now too the track, but i really need some rear end work now though, without some decent grip im not going to beat my old time of 12.98 with the stock turbo, mph will be alot better. For road work, i might drop a few pounds in the tyres to gain a some more traction, its fun at the moment but im looking for better grip. i dont want to be stuck, spinning. So, all in all, i tested SAFC's with the 2530 and just didnt work properly, with the power fc it feels like a whole new car. I only gained 13rwkw peak, but the huge power dip i had between 5000/6000 with the safc, it feels like ive gained 30rwkw their alone.

RB25 Coil Question/problem?
Robo's replied to boost4130's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
No, they are the same coils as your RB25 Series 1 -
Just fitted a Power Fc....Problems need help
Robo's replied to darrinspencer's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
It should run fine on the base map, maybe re-initialise it!! Check that it is set on the correct AFM. Mine ran fine on the base map and i have a Z32, 2530, 17psi, exhaust and all that.
