Naah, both do mather... If the pre intercooler iat's are lower, the post will be much lower to. So a decent pod, not mounted in a box or shield or whatsoever will imho have higher post intercooler iat's then a stock airbox, on the other side throttle respons could be a bit better caused by less restriction from a decent pod

And how you asume that the new SS2 will be compared to the OP6 in terms of torque and response. The way i look at it, it seems that the OP6 delivers more torque then a old ss2 and about the same power, if i got it right

Stao, is it possible to machine a internally gated turbine house for a td06-20g in 10cm? And how is a td 06 compared to a ss2 and op6 highflow in terms of power, torque and response ?

Kind of weird this matters, because a decent boost controller or even better, a decent ECU, manages the boost pressure with as reference the Map sensor, so even with a boost drop over the core, the boost controller should add a bigger amount of duty cycle at the boost solenoid leading to the actually boost pressure you want to entering the engine ... IMHO

I'll think you'll have to do it trough youtube

Kind of sound of video piece could be usefull to help you defining what the sound could be

Are those available for gtt/gtst, because they're not listed atbtheir website i think

Maybe kind of weired questions, but what do you guys do with th bov, use stock one, block off or replace. And if you keep using them, aren't there some leaks ?
-
Ok rhen you'll be kowinng what you're saying :-p But i personaly don't see the the difference, can you explain why you're not having the same isue if you're fabricating a 180 degree turn directly after the end tank. Because of you look at the blitz, it's just like they have 'welded/extruded' the turn just after they bring the air together in the end tanks.
-
Nah, don't think that's the problem because a turn wil not let drop you pressure, the core himself gives a lot more resistance then a turn in a decent diameter could do. You see lots of people who fabricate there own return flow'ish piping with a 180 degree radius directly after the cooler, so that should give you the same issue then a turn Built in the end tank ... Not talking about the phenomen that the isue is mush bigger on a neo engine

Is there anybody who has tested/used the pwr r34 intercooler. I'ts also a return flow setup but i gues, that a brand like thid will not make something that will give flow restrictions, at least not at that price ... This is the one I mean: https://www.pwr.com.au/wp-content/uploads/PWI2204-Skyline-R34-GTS.jpg

There are some imports but let's say there isn't a big market for it
-
Yes, no doubt. Big plans to, but last year i've bought a house to and restorated it, so now hopefully som cash and time to start at the skyline. Already hace a exedy carbon d twin carbon clutch, hks hypermax coilovers and today made and fitted my 3" downpipe. For the rest will all the suporting mods be installed, in combination with hypergear atr43ss2pu, fuel pump, injectors ect, managed by a link g4 ecu and probably e85 but that's sometihing what i have the consider because there are no e85 pump here ... At least that's the plan performance wise to start with

Maybe if you don't want to spend a lot of money you can connect adaptronic. They're not that expansive and are map based (VE) ecu's. So you can ditch your AFM

Hello My name is Shedley, i'm living in Belgium, yes i know, the other side of the worl. But even here there are some petrolheads. I'm an automotive mechanic at a official BMW dealer, next to that, i'm part of a rallyteam and i'm also very intrested in efi tuning. Have tuned a few cars to. In the summer of 2014 i've imported a er34 GTT from japan. The car is here since januari, but the paperwork is still not completed by the autority. So i'm waitig patient

Variable Geometry Turbochargers And Gasoline Engines
Dr. Surge replied to rx-line's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Honnestly, imho, i wouldn't advice an vgt turbo on a petrol engine. As you say porsche ect uses them. But they don't last as long as a normal turbo, even porsche doesn't use them anymore in the new porsche turbo, if i remember correct, they're using a twin setup now ... -
Today i've made/ placed my 3" downpipe on my er34 skyline. Now i think the downpipe that was mounted, wasn't the original one. Can somebody confirm ?
