M35 W/bose - New Head Unit But No Sound, Help Please
valf replied to malialipali's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Finally took the fascia out, unfortunately for me, the climate control unit is part of the radio board... Looked up online to get the climate control board only but couldn't find any, does anyone have a link ? Weird that it's part of the HU board, does it get power from the HU harness ? -
It's quite strange actually. Sometimes the car doesn't shudder at all, no lights on the dash. Sometimes it does shudder and the 4WD light comes up. Car will be weird on tight turns until next time I start it. Not sure if it's a coincidence or if these two issues are related.

M35 W/bose - New Head Unit But No Sound, Help Please

I'll try to cut if first, as the head-unit is completely dead. If I do something ugly and get a refund for the other one I ordered, I will get yours! -
M35 W/bose - New Head Unit But No Sound, Help Please
valf replied to malialipali's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
With something like this, I guess it would be ok right ? -
That would be super cool, even for $155.99, rather give that to someone that has the right tools Seriously though, had a transmission light turning on and since it's the TCU I want to read, would probably have more luck with a consult 3. Happy to help with your $$ investment in the tool of course. PM sent

M35 W/bose - New Head Unit But No Sound, Help Please

Oh really ! I thought I could just get a double din facia, get rid of the installed non bose head unit and keep the aircon controls still ... So I'd need the aircon board too ? -
#2 : pretty sure if for the mirrors, button pushed, when reversing they orientate down so you don't scratch your rims, pretty cool feature !

It's a garage that sells a bunch of car makes including Nissan and the guy I had on the phone told me they use a different brand of diagnostic tool and isn't sure they will be able to talk to the car (after I said it was a stagea..) At $156/hour, I'm not too keen to go find out ps: not sure why but can't edit my posts to update it
-
Have been looking for a consult 3 diagnosis at the Nissan dealer around my place and they don't have one, but still offered to come and try their tool... Instead of wasting time with them, I'd rather drive to meet someone from here that has one. We could probably have a list of everyone owning one here to save time for anyone else looking and make a few $ for the owners. I'm personally looking around Sydney but if you have one, tell your State and diag tool so I can make a list.

I don't have the bose head unit so the aircon control is separated. -

Sweet,thanks for confirmation -
No, 1st Au owner fitted it to carry his push bikes around, I guess he had some kind of bike mount sitting on it. At least I know for sure he didn't tow anything heavy with the car ..

Yeah it's a big joke, I removed it actually because if someone runs into the back of the car, it will do quite important damage

Looks clean ! Got the harness already and cut off the ISO and wired it up to the JVC harness so I don't have to touch the car cables. Ordered a double din oem facia from ebay for $100 but it arrived broken (thanks AUSPost ...) so I returned it... which explains why I didn't fit everything yet.. don't want to open everything up twice.. Do you think the car oem harness will be long enough to reach the upper glove box ? I was also thinking about cutting (dremel) the oem head unit off the facia with a dremel but it might not look as clean as I would like so still waiting to see if AUSPOST insurance is gonna be enough to get a new facia as I can't find another $100 one.... -

Nice, post a pic of your dash, I'm about to do something similar. I don't have a factory bose sound system so I guess I won't have the amp either, isn't it? Got a bluetooth JVC head unit, want to put it in the upper glove box and integrate my Nexus 7 instead of the original unit to have GPS and everything you can get from android. running the sound through bluetooth to the hidden head unit. JVC has an android app to control the head unit remotely (sources, ....) -
Yeah, thanks for the advice It's an ARX so it's high enough to crawl under without jacking it up though. I'm a noob but learning as I go (managed to replace a faulty alternator on my mate's van this weekend, the PITA ones with engine under the seats haha). It's just that I know nothing about the M35 and there's so many things I never had to deal with (auto trans, 4wd, and so on) but at least, I've got the safety right at least haha And when it gets to hard, I have Jetwreck almost around the corner
-
Perfect man ! Always had front wheel drive cars (or wrong wheel drive as Jetwreck would say ) so I didn't recognize anything under there, thanks for that!

Finally had a look, sway bar looking good. Being a total mechanic noob, I couldn't spot that handbrake cable under there... But it does seem to be the reason because I let a bit of handbrake on while driving on a few bumps and couldn't hear anything Could you explain where I can find it ? Or post a picture if you don't mind a bit of crawling ha-ha -) Thanks !
