  1. Do you have a link for that HP cable ?
  2. Not sure but from what I could see, only the VQ25 is special (how lucky...) and chances are that it will work with standard ODB2 protocols for the VQ35 (could be wrong). The HKS OB-LINK is still worth $2xx so I will try to get something on my own ^^ I just need to figure out how the HKS plug is wired to actually connect to the ECU, after that, it's just a matter of interpreting the data that comes from it (probably similar to what Consult libraries do if it is really a consult interface with an OBD2 shape). Best chance is to run some tests and try out different pins until I get a prompt from my console.
  3. Found some nissan consult projects on github written in python, will give it a go. That one looks alright : https://github.com/fridlington/K11Consult From what I could see on forums, the M35 has an OBD2 port but uses Consult 2(/3?) or is it an other physical port in the car with a Consult socket ? Hopefully I can get one of those python libraries to read the data and make a nice GUI for my tablet
  4. Bringing this topic up. I'm looking for info to get access to whatever data I can with an OBD2 standard socket. Looked into latest versions of Torque app but apparently this ecu hasn't been taken care of yet.
  5. Found what I was looking for, and I don't have the bose option so it's all good. Sorry about yours !
  6. Pretty happy with the stagea, drives nicely (I've got nothing to compare it to as it's my first though). Hasn't been the easiest job apparently, but I will let Jetwreck comment on that One thing that I noticed is that the car stutters a little when reversing / doing a slow turn. Is that common on these cars? I will also replace the stereo with a Nexus 7 tablet, I can take pictures of the process and post it somewhere in here in case someone is interested. (if anyone has a double din facia around Sydney or a good link for one, I'm interested. Also, maybe some dremel job on the original one might do, maybe someone done that already?) Thanks for pointing me in the right direction to get the car taken care of, couldn't have been any better
  7. Quick update, ended up buying this ARX and will get the turbo changed with Jetwreck. Thanks everyone for input, definitely got me to make the move
  8. Ok, got all the info I need, will let you know if I get it or not !
  9. By the way, if you hear about a nice m35 for sale not too expensive and around Sydney, let me know
  10. Thanks for the quick reply Craig The stock would have more than enough power as it would be just a daily. Do you know how long the entire thing (send turbo, get it back) usually takes? Also, the guy says the car is drivable and has low power (which you would expect) so I wouldn't need to put it on a truck. Is that risky to drive around like that? Cheers
  11. Alright, I will try to send him a private message. I'm starting to like the community here, thanks everyone!
  12. > compression test Is that something I can do by myself? Not really a mechanic ! > $2500 for a turbo replacement Is there some places in Sydney I can get this done ? > Where are you Valf? I'm in Sydney
  13. Hi everyone, I've been looking at stagea's for a while and even though I'm on a budget, I'm decided to finally get one. I found a cheap one (4k) with a dead turbo according to the owner. With all the specialists around here, I'd like to know if it is worth it, and how easy it would be to fix it. Owner says "Turbo has failed. Not leaking oil or blowing smoke, so the car still drives ok, but no boost so it is slow." Appreciate the feedback!
  14. Hey, I might be interested, can you post pictures and tell us where it is located ? Thanks
