  1. Yeh im an apprentice Im not your average age appentice though. Im 27 tomorrow actually Getting old! Good luck on the tools mate Blake is my boys name by the way. I should have posted more about him earlier, but figured it wasnt car related lol. He'll be my co-driver and most likely take ownership of the GTR one day He's six months old so he has a little while to wait
  2. Standard fuel pressure is around 270-300 kpa
  3. Yeah but the power steering cooler uses that hole
  4. If its noisey its the solinoid (thing that does the pushing/pulling) is prolly on its way out. Try disconnecting it from the lock assembly and see if it still makes the noise. If it does you have isolated the problem to being the solinoid. If not you can move the other parts by hand until you find the one thats noisey. Deren
  5. and before you ask there is another breather for the front diff that hooks up under near the front of the plenum
  6. Thats very neat positioning of the core. I like it alot but i still have a power steer cooler in that area How do the lines get back into the engine bay from there?
  7. Id like to see where and how the core is mounted lol
  8. Im about to install mine. I had planned to attach the filter mount to the side of the chassis rail to enable filter changes from below with no mess. I'd be interested in seeing where your cooler core is located. I still have the stock blow off valves so i was planning to put it in front of the radiator.. Where is yours?
  9. Hey mate, thanks for the tip. Unfortunately i still have a year and a half to go in my apprenticeship so im not quite experienced enough.
  10. You wont be able to move the actuator by hand.. They are quite firm. My advice is the same as was mentioned and just use compressed air to operate the actuator to make sure its working properly. My guess is that you either have a faulty actuator or perhaps a leak in the vacuum signal hose to the actuator. You may be able to find this when you pressurise it with compressed air, if infact there is a leak. Good luck, Deren
  11. You've prolly got stick on weights, am i right? They are a pain to balance with. Takes a bit more time to get right so unless they do it properly you will experience steering wheel wobbles at speed.
  12. Wheel alignment wont effect that. It will be a bad wheel balance or a lump in one of the front tyres.
  13. Not from what i just read in Pauls Power FC FAQ... From what i read you can tune every cell manually in closed circuit if you wish...?!?
  14. Welcome as always Nissan should really employ me as a FAST software operator lol...
  15. Not so much once its been torqued down. More to do with once the engine has been run. If its only been torqued down its fine to re-use.
  16. You can do the valve springs with the head on but its a long and lengthy process that is costly unless you can do it yourself. I have heard of re-using metal head gaskets but i wouldnt say it would be advisable especially if the engine is highly strung. Talk to JHH in woodridge about the work. Ask for John or Will.
  17. Part number for genuine bulb from nissan: 28529-05U00 Deren
  18. The actuators have a base setting so if anything goes wrong they just revert to that, which im guessing would be lower anyway. The stock solinoid works differently so thats why the extra hose is there. Im guessing the ECU uses the stock pressure sensor to judge when to bleed and it uses the vacuum pickup in the inlet pipe to operate the wastegate actuators. The solinoid being just a switch.
  19. Thats the second place i went to. Had a bit of work done there before i started working on it myself. Could be helpful actually. I forgot that they did their own throttle plates etc
  20. Yeah i figured it probably would trick the system into thinking there was traction loss in the front. The Attessa Ets system does work gradually, its designed to operate in a progressive manner. Its not all or nothing. Its anything from no front torque to upto 50% front torque. So what your saying doesnt sound right to me.
  21. Thanks Tomek Hey Ron, i'd agree about the car bra rubbing the dirt into the paint, effectively sanding it back. I guess if you keep it clean that wouldnt happen so much but the whole idea of a car bra makes me think of the meat heads in their fully sick commodores. Not the look im after.. Maybe they are more beneficial for a daily driver on a long trip. I kinda like the idea of the plastic film but how easy is it to remove? Does it damage the paint on removal? Etc.. As im sure all you guys can tell my car is going to be a dedicated weekend car, only used in good weather. So i doubt it will suffer from the same amount of damage like a daily driven car would. Today i took the gearbox back into work so i can soon commence work on it. I'll be keeping you all upto date on that if your interested
  22. Ok thanks mate. Still disappointed i can't use that feature...
  23. Hey geoff I will still want to get an S15 as a daily. Its no GTR but a damn nice car all the same. You must be thinking of someone else, im tall but lucky to push 80kg on a good day lol I aggree with you, i highly doubt i would ever part with my beloved BNR32 I think it will be something special to hand down perhaps or as you say die in it when it all gets too much! I really couldnt see myself fitting a car bra sorry Perhaps the plastic film..Or just repaint as it needs it.
