  1. Good work. It can be a bitch to locate/diagnose these problems but when you fix it the satisfaction sure makes up for it! A scantool helps too LOL
  2. Aggreed, any competant workshop can work on your skyline. If its just maintenance your after there is no problem taking it to a reputable general service centre. if there is something you want them to take extra notice of or are unsure they will be familiar with, then make a note of it to them. By the way, to the guy that said dont let an apprentice work on your car...Im an apprentice and if you have seen my thread you will know im currently rebuilding my GTR ground up!
  3. Its not the belt that hums its the tension set on it that causes it to hum. If its too tight it will do exactly that, hum. Usually quiten down after a week or 2. So no belt can be guaranteed not to hum. Deren
  4. I like the look and sound of the old Apexi GT spec exhausts as well as the HKS Super dragger. Can't seem to find a decent 2nd hand one though...
  5. Rattle gun is the easiest way but not always available. They are done up to 450Nm so the starter trick wont normally work as its too tight. I tried this and it failed. Sounds like the clutch is on the way out...Using 4th gear - direct drive? The first time i got it undone i used a breaker bar with a large trolley jack handle slipped over it for mega leverage. The handle was a good 1.8-2.0 metres long.. Deren
  6. If you do your research you will find that the cat is actually one of the most restrictive items in the exhaust system. There is no point in having a great cat back exhaust if your only going to bottle neck the flow before hand. Also if your exhaust is still original from day one its more than likely completely rooted inside. Conclusion: Deffinetely get yourself a good 'high flow' cat that has good size inlet/outlet so it doesnt restrict the flow there either. Deren
  7. What gearbox doesnt have syncros lol?? They all have syncros on every gear and have done for a very long time now.
  8. Yeah I'd make sure its suited to LSD diff's though..
  9. Cracked injector bodies are not uncommon. Hopefully a set of new o-rings will fix it though. Go to a fuel injection specialist to have them inspected. Or if your capable try a new set of o-rings first. Deren
  10. You can order all parts from nissan in australia All parts for all cars!
  11. Yeah i'll be very disappointed if its not the cleanest! To be honest it would have been one of the cleanest unmodified GTR's b4 i started but an accident in it made my mind up to rebuild her ground up. I will finally get my hands on the thicker underbody stoneguard on friday so hopefully over the w'end i can get most of the underside done. Ive masked out the engine bay from the underneath, not to mention the entire top of the car, sill to sill. That sounds easy but is a major job (check the photo posted a few replies back) Deren
  12. I hope you guys are using a plastic primer? If not in time it can come off pretty easy...Not really worth taking the risk. Make sure your using wax a grease remover - good shit! Apart from that i think the job looks tops! Excellent color choice, subtle but cleans it up
  13. top it up and with the engine running wind the wheel from lock to lock and keep adding fluid as necessary.
  14. The 32 uses a speedo cable so it has no speed sensor. Not sure how the timer gets its reading but id say that if its not working at all the cable is broken at some point. Probably on one of the ends, pretty common. Deren
  15. LOL an engine will run without an oxygen sensor signal (though not as economically) so there is no way that would fix a stalling problem. A missfire is not the same as what your saying you have. So i wouldnt go on anything said in the missfire thread. A common oversight people seem to have is if they have the same symptoms as another person thay automatically think its the same fault! Never assume this as 90% of the time it wont help you. Deren
  16. No need to bleed the ABS unit just calipers, and long as you havn't removed or replaced the master you wont even have to bleed that. Its teh same as doing a brake fluid flush, you suck the reseviour dry and just refill it then flush the lines..no need the bleed the master. If you do run into trouble however you can do a pressure bleed on the master by cracking the lines while you have a helper pump up and hold the pedal. R33 ABS unit is probably bled with the consult/scan tool electronically Deren
  17. The RB26 uses solid lifters so they will always be harsh and quite noisy. The only way to quiten them down is to re-shim them. I think the RB25 uses hydraulic lifters so if they arent supplied with the correct oil or not enough they will not do their job correctly and you get extra noise from them.
  18. LOL i just read your signature abcent. Thats funny as!
  19. Already covered many times. BSC sell new aftermarket ones complete. From memory it was no more than $120 for both. Deren BTW: The gates T-belt is cheaper bacause its non-genuine.
  20. Please make an offer, I no longer need these items so they will go cheap! CHECK UPDATED FIRST POST
  21. Dont worry you wouldnt be the first to make that mistake I may have done it myself on a few occasions
  22. Ahh ok i couldnt tell you sorry. Have you tried a search. Make sure you dont just select the last 30 post or watever it is..search way back
  23. Yeah im pretty sure your correct when you say spotlight wires as mine came with factory spot lights and until i removed them they used connectors like that to plug them in.
  24. The oil when under pressure creates a very thin film of oil between the two surfaces keeping them (in a way) insulated from each other. Thats what i think is called pressure lubrication where as in say a gearbox they utilise a splash lubrication.
  25. Of course they sell it...they made it If you PM me your vin i can tell you the partnumber.
