Hey guys, im after some opinions. I have a stock R32 GTR (boost restrictor removed 12.6psi) with the front turbo already replaced (due to exh wheel delamination). Recently i pulled both the turbo's off and found the rear one needs a rebuild or replace. I rang around and found a pair of R33 GTR turbo's with 80,000 on them at Ice Perf in Melb. They have been swapped for a/m items. Is it worth me buying them both for $800 or is it not worth it as 80,000km's is getting up there as far as ceramic turbo life goes.. I just want something reliable until i replace both with new a/m items...The other option is to just buy one more turbo for between $400-600 off an R32 GTR. Thanks in advance, Deren

the rocker cover is the tappet cover rubber seals they cost 3o bucks, the exh man gaskets cost 33 each, i think the head gasket was around 60-70 so it all adds up then put gst on top..

Sounds like a bearing...If its making the noise all the time then it has to be a bearing that's always in use...So the input shaft would make sense. GTR = money pit This is indeed very true!!

Still no luck with the crank pulley bolt. ive tried putting a screwdriver in the ring gear teeth and it wont hold it enough. Just slips and sparks. So i tried putting th starter back in and using a breaker bar jammed up against teh chassis rail while i flicked the starter over for a second. That also didnt seem to have enough power to undo it. I tried that alot of times but was worried it would burn out the motor... I need HELP!!

Yeah i imported the same car as you at teh same time. Not taking the piss out of you just giving you a compliment buddy. Mine arent all that bad so i'll just leave the current ones i think.

Thanks heaps guys. My clutch is stock but very worn out so maybe it is that...It seems to be getting louder since i first got teh car..Then again im not even sure if it used to make the noise at all...

Smart guy, thats for sure. How did you have this much experience and still be so young? Ive been working on cars since a very young age. Got my first car at 14, but you have more knowledge on alot stuff than me! Anyway before your head grows too big and you cant get thru doorways no more i'll stop! While im here how do you knwo if you need to replace the ancillary blets ..Mine arent too bad looking but they are all off so i was thinking to swap em over. One looks a tad worse than the other 2 ...how should i decide?

nah mine are stock turbos ... It only last for a second..nearly sounds like a chain rattling but as far as im aware there are no chains in an rb26 are there? maybe its a gearbox noise?? Ive been told to use a stethescope to listen to each bit separately while its shut off repetedly

Hmm mine is in pieces too buddy i havent yet replaced it with a new belt so im not sure if i'll have the same issue..Best to ask one of the guys like wrxhoon or GTRgeoff. They have helped me out alot and know there stuff..Perhaps PM one of them?

Yeah i tried that but even with sumone pressing the brake the car was moving...My clutch is on the way out (slips during launches more than 3500) Could that be the problem? I guess it cant really be cuz the car still moves. The brakes just dont seem to bight enough without any booster.. Im thinking to just re install the starter and do wat Chris Wilson posted...Any more tips?

Yeah i think we have the same issue. I really wanna work out wat it is, it frustrates me! Wouldnt be CV joints as the car is at standstill..They cant make a noise if they arent moving... Any ideas guys?
