  1. Thanks d00dz
  2. Hey mine does the same thing. Both at low speed and occasionally does the 110kmh thing Original cable.
  3. My car still has the stock turbos - I've heard that if you behave yourself until the oil is at temp then your exh wheels should be fine. Most problems with shattered turbines when guys plant it on a cold engine (hence cold ceramic -> most brittle state)(think cold coffee cups! ) edit: that sucks hanyou, great to see a mate's true colours when he offered to pay for the repair!
  4. Sadly, my car is usually driven only once per fortnight. I completely agree with Busky
  5. I used spray-on paint stripper. You'll find it at most auto stores. Works a treat and saves messing around with brushes etc. Trust_33 I used Metalcast too, in the anodized red. It looks very nice. Not too loud but you notice it as you walk past. Just what I was after
  6. Thanks varsana, I appreciate you taking the time to reply. That's enough out of me. Cheers.
  7. lol, sorry mate, I didn't realise there were more than one amp... It was the Jaycar one. Perhaps I'd best give you a phone call seeing as I've now bumped the thread and bumped interest!
  8. Yep. You'd be best off to join the SAU NSW club (hint, hint) so you can receive trade/club discounts and you'll also know who to talk to at which Nissan. Otherwise, you'll no doubt have some older guy who wants your VIN and then tells you that VIN doesn't exist and you can't have parts, then tell you the Skyline parts aren't made anymore, etc. Talk to the right guy and you'll have a genuine front bar in two weeks. Oh yeah, 180_mph touched on a good point, you'll need a GTR front reinforcement bar or you'll have to cut up your GTSt one. I'd go to a wreckers or SAU for sale to find a used front reo bar.
  9. Yes, the paint will come off but where do you think it'll go? Onto the pads! It is very easy to remove the caliper from the wheel and paint it elsewhere. Then you'll be able to strip it back and do an effective job. My 2.2c
  10. Dan do you still have the amp and the Boston 5 1/4"s please?
  11. Hi Dave, welcome to SAU. The first place I'd try is the SAU for sale section. Prices are generally much better than a wrecker. Just keep an eye out. You could even post in the Wanted To Buy forum - guys may even come to you to offload their spares. After that, SSS as Dave mentioned above, or JustJap on Bath Rd at Kirrawee. Mark
  12. The ABS unit isn't in the pics but is standard on GTRs. If you can re-register the car, you must know the VIN. They don't exactly give away new VINs to anyone that asks. If you know the VIN, you can prove it is a GTR. People are just concerned as there are lots of questions and you've not provided any clarification. Could you please share the history that you've offered if people just ask? Thanks mate.
  13. Another excellent caliper painting thread here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...p;hl=duplicolor The paint schmiddy suggests is absolutely brilliant. Avoid VHT like the plague and use what schmiddy says.
  14. You need ~10V to turn the motor. I had the same problem as you about six months ago. Battery was flat. It also read 12V static but you could see the drop on the voltmeter as you cranked it. PS You'll receive more help around here if you keep your cool.
  15. Shaun I found success by rocking it back and forth from left to right. Pull hard from the left, then pull hard from the right. Rinse and repeat. You'll end up walking it back towards you and then BAM! you'll be glad you listened to Beer Baron so you don't look like poor Sumo
  16. Hi Pete. I don't know how difficult it is but I encourage you to replace the whole lot. Nissan charges a packet but you can just use any of the mobile window guys (or stores) to replace it with universal windscreen rubber. The R32s are old cars now, I wouldn't waste my time replacing only a corner unless it is in VERY good condition. Complication then is that you'll need to use Mr Nissan for parts. I did this about a year ago and haven't looked back. It cost me around $300 for front and rear. I don't know if that's cheap or exxy, it's just what I paid. Mark
  17. $2 for 4 in the cooking section at your supermarket. Remove as much oil from the outside of the filter then use the jar opener. Going on is fine as you can hand tighten it enough using the 'tool'.
  18. I'd LOVE a DSLR! Hats off, I'm still slumming it with an old EOS. I thought the pics turned out quite well considering the shutter speed for the flypasts and the low cloud. @ all the guys with the big lenses, I know what you mean.... whaddaya mean 300mm isn't a 'real' lens??
  19. Deren the parts that made the biggest difference were replacement door moulds (black part along the top edge of the door) and new rear quarter glass. I would dearly love to replace the black window frame part (that the window rubber sits in, around the roof edge of the door window). Costs a packet, as you know though. Hey the crummy news is that I worked out the car has had a reasonable front left hit, now sporting a new front reo bar and the front left headlight doesn't align correctly with the line of the bonnet. I wonder if I can fix it without have to buy an R32 front cut Progress is looking very good mate.
  20. Hey that's what mine looked like a year ago
  21. And the local paper said the Edge540 has a 27L engine with 325,000hp. I was rather impressed by that power:weight They also said the Catalina and KC-135 displays impressed the crowd! Shame the Catalina was broken and the KC-135 never left Singapore! Journos, grrrr.
  22. I agree, great pics in the link. I was actually hoping for a C-130 formation pic - the one above is a C-17 His callsign was Wiki12. I still don't know what that word means!
