Any Lawyers Or Law Students In Here?
cowie165 replied to AzzurrA's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Wow Ali, nice work. I was also thinking s53 might be applicable after the workshop claimed 'these parts are better' than the others Jason was going to fit. -
Wow, well spotted lads. The 3rd one is pretty cut and dried but I would never have picked the 2nd one for a GTSt.

Clearly I can't speak for everyone else, but I didn't buy my car to be different. I bought it because I've wanted one since watching Bathurst years ago. To be honest, I wouldn't buy a zed to be different either. Must say I love both cars, just wanted a GTR for longer To me, different is when a car drives past and you think, "what the hell was that?" Like those Smart cars, or a Pug coupe edit: shpelling

Here's Ferni's car and a few others I found. Yum.

If you're interested in all the R32 options, try searching for threads created by funkymonkey or search "options" and so on. There is a great thread from a few years back that lists (with pics) all the cup-holding, park assisting, rain deflecting, badge illuminating goodness you could ever want for your R32

Hi Wal, 1. Your battery might be a little on the small side or the CCA too low 2. Try a search for GTSt standard boost but the gauge is mmhg (x100) iirc - the units are printed on the face of the gauge 3. If it's below redline then you are fine. Just don't do it on cold fluids and remember that the engine will obviously wear a lot faster when operating at high RPM. Great to hear you're enjoying your R32

Do all cameras run off the strips embedded in the bitumen? Or are there some radar/transmitter types out there?
-
Hi Streeter, sorry mate I must have totally missed your post I'll shoot a PM your way next time I see this kit and might grab a few to make it worth our mutual while. Cheers bud!

Whilst we're talking zeds, and to save me searching aus300zx, were there any significant changes to the models from 1989 onwards or are all Z32s the same? Only change I'm aware of is updated tail-lights? Cheers

What are we up to...? 16? 16) Thou shalt indicate first, then apply brake and turn into your driveway/side street/etc. I hate it when you're zooming along and some knob in front starts braking for no apparent reason. I'm thinking, what, is there a dog? A kid playing on the street? What are you doing? Where are you going? It's a indicator! Same as Commandment 7, use it BEFOREHAND!!

Whilst we're talking about it, can you effectively strip the paint off an intercooler? My car used to be white and the last owner had painted the cooler white also. Looks a bit weird on a grey car. I've heard the pressure pack paint strippers aren't too bad - maybe if I sprayed it on, gave it a scrub with a rag, and the blew the rest of the stripper out with the airgun it'd work out? Comments/advice appreciated

Thanks Richard, that's what I'm after! I don't know how you found him, actually, it was probably buying Soarer stuff...? Thanks mate

Brake Pads - Bedding In Instructions
cowie165 replied to Genesis®'s topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Could someone please elaborate on what Racebrakes mean when they say this? How do you bed a rotor and not bed the pads? Noob question, but I just don't get it and have new rotors/pads to put on next weekend. -
RB26 has the same oil filter, fuel filter and spark plugs as RB20

Thanks for the replies guys. To be honest, I was actually after a mates' rates transaction rather than a commercial one. np.

Why Nick??? Is the GTR cheaper?

Is there any truth to the claim most 89/90 cars are rusting out? I wouldn't imagine any more instances than with same age R32's, but talking to importers/compliance workshops they seem to be overrepresented when rust and breakdowns are concerned. That said, I'd love an auto 2 leather seater TT. It'd be a great daily. Just look after the motor, no silly hp attempts, and it'd be great. Probably get my vote over a 91 Soarer GT-LTD too.

After having a drive in a manual TT, I agree with the car's owner who said they make a great cruiser. Loads of power available, nice handling, but don't buy one and try and drive it like a WRX. I love the cockpit. Almost as good as an R32. It was Nissan's attempt to produce a car marketable in America against Corvettes and the like.

Thanks Shan, I'll chase the links down and post! btw is rinkya an SAU nickname or an online store or something?

Painting and Powder coating rocker covers
cowie165 replied to maximumrpm's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Thanks for the reply Geoff. Oh goody, I love double sided tape Great news about the colour - full steam ahead then. I was originally planning on painting the engine the factory satin black but your paintjob just looks too damn good! Calipers will be the test bed -
Hi guys, Think what you like - I build model cars/planes/etc. when I have spare time and have found a few rare kits for sale for cheap in Japan. If you have a Yahoo ID and might be able to help me have them shipped to Sydney, please reply or PM. I can direct deposit some funds for bidding but would prefer to handover some cash in Sydney area. Thanks guys, a shot in the dark, I'll see how I go Mark And I know Zac will buy bits from Yahoo but his service fee is nearly $40 per purchase - the bids I'm looking at are only around Y2-3,000 plus post so it's not worth using Slidewize. If you're in Sydney I'll happily provide some liquid refreshment to say thanks for your help. Cheers.

Painting and Powder coating rocker covers
cowie165 replied to maximumrpm's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Guys I removed the spark plug cover but there doesn't appear to be any fasteners holding the decal/NISSAN TWIN CAM blah on. Is it just glued?? @GTRGeoff - firstly, great looking job! Secondly, does the metalcast more closely match the pic of the cam gear cover or the pic of the engine fitted? I love the colour of the cover but the fitted pic seems to have a slight orange tint. Which Duplicolor is that please? Mark -
PM sent re steering wheel

Wheel alignment will fix how the car travels down the road. If you take your hands off the wheel and the car continues to track straight then the wheels are aligned. If there are vibrations, then it is probably (with exceptions like mentioned above) going to be wheels out of balance. Most balancing centres can only balance 16-17" rims. I tried to have some 18"s balance and had to have them driven across town to find a big enough balancer. Without casting dispersions upon the guys that did the balance, they may have taken a short cut with your balance if they didn't have the right equipment.
