Slotted Rotors R32
cowie165 replied to gt-t_r34's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
From Repco I picked up 2 DBA908's (rears) and 2 DBA4926's (slotted fronts) for $260pr and $363pr respectively. Worth looking into. The fronts were a bit cheaper than retail but you should be able to grab a pair for just over $400. edit: stupid brain, can't do maths -
I love that colour! I agree with Driver - stamped sticker when timing belt is changed. If it has 100,000km stamped on it, it is likely it's the 100k service. If it has 93,466km or another odd number it's likely the actual km when the belt was changed. Good luck with the rust. I really hope it's your chassis rails and not the sills. Also, from the PM pics, it kinda looks like the bonnet is a different shade of silver - could just be my monitor though. For the coil cover (whatever people like to call it) start a thread in the wanted to buy section of the classified - you should pick up a few replies. Don't bother with new, just repaint all the covers once you have the last piece. Please post more pics! The car looks great and I know the feeling you mentioned!

Blast! Can't find the PM agreement. That's frustrating. If you intend to buy a house interstate through a real estate agent sure the pest inspection is your responsibility to request. You are carrying out your due diligence with respect to the purchase. That said, if the agent sent you photos and stated all appliances "run well" then you find out the ducted aircon doesn't work, who is responsible? I'd argue the agent is responsible as they have made a misrepresentation: A corporation shall not, in trade or commerce, in connexion with the supply or possible supply of goods... falsely represent that goods are of a particular standard, quality, value, grade, composition, style or model - from the Trade Practices Act. Don't get me wrong, I'm over it. Lesson learned. As Lucien said, caveat emptor. sigsputnik: What are the implications of actual authority vs. apparent authority?

they certainly do and that looks awfully like my car -
Paul I would LOVE to take you up on your offer. Sadly, I'm moving to the Blue Mountains in October so won't be able to bring the car out (but I'm closer to WSID and EC, yay). That said, I could only afford the Beer Baron 2beers/hr rate Now that you mention broken bolts and leaks a-go-go, maybe I'd best leave it to the professionals! Best not to make things worse!

Lucien see if you can buy the 707160-7 from eBay j/k I guess I just have to run the gauntlet then. When I say I have no money for the car, I really mean it Just have to watch the boost. I wonder if my restrictor is still in. Iirc the gauge makes it up to 7, so it probably isn't. Are R32 N1's laggy because they're not bb or is it inherent to their design? $1000 doesn't seem *too* bad but when you look at new 707160-5's.....?

lingeringsoul: Thieves are #2 to keyers in my book. But only just. Zebbie: rofl, that'd be so much fun Abo Bob: that's an awesome idea. Well lit and the guys smile for the camera, hadn't thought of that, nice.

I'm sorry things got messy guys. My time is essentially unlimited however my finances are quite finite. I'm swapping the dump pipes anyway (already bought those) and was looking for any pointers on spotting a shagged turbo or one at the end of its life. I was hoping to then swap it for another (as they're so cheap) to keep the motor shipshape until I can afford N1's. Is shaft play all you can look for? Can a turbo specialist do much without pulling it apart? (And offering a steel-wheel rebuild for $$)?

Richard your quote sounds great. As you near the eighty beer mark does your work get better or worse? And do you provide your own ambulance?

I'm just concerned they are going to cause problems. They seem to be the weakest link when it comes to engines stuffing out. Repairs and paint have cleaned me out and then some so I'm keen to preserve what life is left in my *genuine  * 70,000km R32 motor. Had I the funds I would have bought your turbos!

Sunroof Control Panel In R32gts-t
cowie165 replied to foznice's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Hi Rylan, have you priced a used part? If it isn't too pricey it'd save hassle and look tidier? -
Hi Chris, yep eleven weeks tomorrow. The sills are nearly repaired. The painter has managed to repair one side rather than replace it. Turns out the right rear quarter was full of bog and is being replaced. Paint is going on today. The drivers side b-pillar was thin enough (corroded) to put a screwdriver through it. It is an expensive exercise. I just miss driving it. Oh yeah, the transfer had the wrong fluid in it (can't remember, Paul might), causing the plates to slip and that leak was the rear gearbox seal. Plus there was the ATTESSA drama you fixed for me (cheers!). I'm fortunate I found Paul up here to help out with a few things, but now I'm moving to the Blue Mountains in Oct. All in all, I'm enjoying fixing it up, just costing a lot more than I had expected. As long as the engine behaves itself, I'll stay happy Have you submitted the Delica evidence? How are things going with the 15yr rule finishing up? Feel free to send a PM if you prefer.

Has anyone actually bought R32 turbos?

I guess it all adds time for the thief to pinch your car. That said, in my opinion, you cannot stop a professional thief. Immobilisers, kill switches, clublocks, and so on are just protection from joyriders/crap thieves who've spotted an opportunity target. Instead of detachable steering wheels, they should make detachable gear levers or detachable clutch pedals Is that a shift lever in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

Ben make sure you take extensive, closeup video of the car just before you put it on the truck. Go over the condition report and ask the movers to explain each "Driver door, light scratch". You'll find that the movers will take off a lot of 'existing damage' and in the event of a claim being necessary, the mover's insurance company will be a LOT more helpful if you have video footage to prove this dent/scratch is new. I know it sounds cynical, but I've moved eight times with work and had my share of dramas. One canary and you've decided to move towns?

Hi Adam. No, sorry, haven't heard of Amadio. The case I was talking about was just out of a book I've been reading Interesting though. If I bought a car, turned up rusted or whatever, is it my fault for not asking the right questions or the seller's/agent's fault for not being upfront with the condition?

Just to confirm, MrZac from Slidewize concurs BNR32 offset is +12 to +22. There was a thread about this a few weeks ago. Danny, Ronin09 and lwells were all posting interesting bits and pieces but cant seem to find it through a search. I can't remember who but one of the guys was planning on fitting R34 wheels to his R32. And when you have it all sorted, be sure to make a post in SK's sticky in the Susp,Tyres,Brakes folder!
