Are kill switches still worthwhile? I thought they weren't much chop these days. Sean are all lock nuts the same? What I mean is, are there good brands and crap brands? Lingeringsoul, great point about moving the kill switch. Do you guys still remove the face from your stereo?

Thanks for your post. I enjoyed reading some of your arguments, they make a lot of sense, particularly the idea that if they aren't providing assistance, what are they doing? And why are you paying them? I'll have to dig out my PM agreement. I wish I understood contracts back when I signed it! What are the implications of actual authority vs. apparent authority? I'd like to discuss this topic further but I'd better go find my contract. I'm wondering what exemptions I actually agreed to.... That said, I remember reading about a case where the plaintiff had signed a contract but the court ruled that as they did not understand what they were signing, the contract was void! Doesn't make sense to me

Thanks for the info Mickroy, that gives me something to go off. Cheers! -
Guys I'm wondering if you can easily/visually spot a turbo that is nearing the end of its life. I'm pulling the turbos off at Christmas to do a few things but not sure what to look for? Is there any way to tell how much life is left in a ceramic wheeled turbo? The reason I ask is that I'm not out for uber power, repainting the car atm so cannot afford 2860's, and every week you see a pair of R32 for $400 or thereabouts. Am I asking for trouble? Once my wallet recovers from the painting/sill repairs I'll start saving for turbos but that's easily 12 months away. Cheers!

That's the one! Cheers, link saved. I agree with your thoughts regarding using a dry filter. Zero maintenance all 'round. -
Kris I have 245's over a 9.5" wheel. Pics attached for reference.

About 12 months ago there was the same thread with a link to a test/review URL. As krzysiu said, the Apex'i flowed the best and HKS the worst. The mushroom-style pod filters performed the worst. Can't remember any figures though. -
15yrs of sunlight and mid-eights manufacturing technology will do that.

Novus offered to do an 'ambulance' tint but without warranty. They only offered the warranty with the legal (35%) just like Shell mentioned.

Thanks Mickroy, that's exactly why I'm thinking about buying one. Every time I plant my foot the exhaust belches black smoke and fuel economy is around 17L+/100km on the highway. Cheaper to buy the cable rather than pull out the O2 sensors just to find out that wasn't the problem. I don't yet trust my engine and I'd like some confirmation that everything is functioning properly! Cheers dude -

Mate your signature is funny and welcome. Your attitude is hostile and you can keep it. -
Hey Joel For legal (read: accuracy) reasons, they need to have a good radar/laser return on your car for three seconds. Perhaps whilst you were weaving through the traffic he couldn't zap you for long enough.

There is a lot of conjecture over whether agents such as PM or J-Spec are brokers or not. It is generally accepted that they are not brokers, after Customs stated that duties were payable on brokerage fees (or something like that - it was a while ago). Are agents bound by the Sale of Goods Act or Trade Practices Act? They are a corporation, but what are they selling? Can you misrepresent something you aren't actually selling? I was unpleasantly surprised by some of the 'mods' that came with the car.

Thanks for your replies guys. Your comments have cleared things up some, but I'm not sure if you're implying that quoting an ET isn't *too* helpful when comparing cars, but they will generally follow the scale MrBlonde mentioned? Still wondering. It'd be nice to know when some guy is spinning you a line about his latest effort at WSID. Sounds like I need to get my butt down to the drag strip and watch a few races to understand things better!
-
Those figures are just made up to clear up my question wrt the same ET but different trap speed. If they are unrealistic, sorry about that, just an (poorly educated) guess

Guys could one of the drag racers/competitors here please help me out with understanding what the times mean. What is the difference between a car that runs 12.1 @ 98mph and one that runs 12.1 @ 131mph? If the ET is the same, does the car with the lower top speed find more traction from the line so that it can accelerate faster/sooner? It seems to be a 1.6 60' is a guy that can drive and a car with plenty of go, and a 2.5 60' is someone who probably drives like me. Are there any other figures that give you an indication of what is going on? Thanks in advance, Mark

Is there any way to save these rather than view on the webpage?

There are two different boss kits for R32 (unsure of which model you have). Part numbers ON-110 and ON-115 (iirc) and one is used for early model R32's and one for late models. Search for a thread titled "My GTR" by "Pentae" and there is a lot of info on the second page. Might help clarify? If not R32, disregard!

Anyone Know How 'trade Prices' Work?
cowie165 replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Short version: Nope, a retailer does not have to offer a cheaper price for someone in the 'trade'. They can offer whatever price they like. Long-winded version: A marked price is legally not even an offer, merely an invitation to 'treat' - ie. the seller is giving you an idea of what price he'd find acceptable. When you pick up an item and take it to the counter, you are then making an offer to buy the fuel pump (or whatever) at the marked price of $400. If you're in the trade, you could offer less, but more often, the seller will now make a formal offer at the 'trade' price to encourage you to do business with him/her. Everything is technically negotiable, even your groceries at Coles, but we all know that the cashier is not going to accept your offer to buy a bottle of Coke for less than the marked price. -
FYI new switches are $195 retail, from Mr Nissan
