thanks Will, The car is getting worked on anyway, rob didnt sound to happy as he didnt expect that much work and he doesnt have all the parts. So he is going to write up a list of what i have to get or hire. Anyway his going to work bit by bit everyday so its going to take a while now.

My apex electronic boost controller (blue screen) got stolen when imported, i was sure of this as the pics of my car in jap when bought showed the ebc still there. The wire got cut and the apex ebc inside got flogged, why the hell would you steal just that, wouldnt it be useless?? What do i do as i dont think you can just buy that blue screen on its own? Is there another way to adjust boost? Do i have to get a completely new kit now? Importing is risky should always put a list of goodies you have on the window so they know whats suppose to be in your car. When i picked up my car i saw many cars at the warf with the key in the keyhole, in otherwords even i could have just took a car for a drive or even flog some parts :pissed: very bad security.

hey man, rocco said my car should be ready in 2 wks if everything goes as planned then ill let you change all the fluid :uh-huh: . When i drove it there and boosted the thing, i think i broke something as it since dropped revs and shut down when i take foot off :werd: the fuel pump was also louder and still buzzed when i was acc and crusing, any ideas? but after a few minutes the revs barely holds on at around 600rpm and didnt shut down anymore but still made buzzing noise when acc and crusing.

No r34 compliance in sa yet, pvp can only do r33s atm, best enterprise are getting closer to getting compliance plates but the longer you wait the more the prices increase:(

hey will, My R33 has just left japan, should be here in about 17 days unless something bad goes wrong. Ill just get an oil change 1st b4 compliance, do you do the 100k service?

i had an r32 with cracked front gtr bar and rust in sunroof all fixed up and painted PERFECTLY, you seriously couldnt see it being any different from factory new. Not a single wave or imperfection!! This is eagle paint n pro up port road, theyre RAA approved and charge excellent prices, theyre also restoring the Nova 91.9 prize car as some might know. I was quoted $2500 for a full respray for an R32.

I probably didnt make it realistic comparing a 15yo car with a new one, i was more on the basis of comparing on relative terms "new car specs". Just praising the 15yo jap technology... Im in SA, ill take it to the drag strip once everything is right and after i get some more practice with launch. But your correct there are to many variables hence i compare with new car factory times as a measure of cars ability. Im still having a hard time with launch but have a new HD clutch. For an R33 GTST with 300rwkw im probably expecting low 12s 1/4mile with 9in R34 GTR wheels n new tread, we'll wait and see.

First of all im not against any cars as im a fan of all performance vehicles from rotors to V12s but dont like the holdens as theyre way to heavy and big, its a family sports car!! I would only move over to a ford or holden V8s when i have a family or a trailer to tow. But if you look at the 15 year old R32 GTR factory 0-100 time its 4.6sec, a 15yo 300zx TT 2 seater is 5.1sec and the aust spec s15 is 0-100 in 5.5sec but jap spec with 30+kw more should be even faster. To sum that up, NO, your car isnt that fast even with 297kw relatively speaking . To answer your question any stock GTR in good nick will cream you but all a gtst would need is a $70 boost controller, $600 exhaust and a $50 pod to give you a run for your money. I wouldnt mind taking you on since my R33 GTST is 300+kw anyways.....at the wheels that is :kick: need to practice my launching!! BTW nice ride tho

Had my SR20DET fully serviced today by Will, excellent job and will comeback again. Recomended for sure especially at under half the price of any workshops for the same if not better service. Ill let you know when my 300+rwkw R33 is here so you can give it a service before compliance;)

Yeh the top mount is a concern once the cops pop open the hood and worried the BOV will draw to much attention, thinking of a plumback. I dont know about being picked on with 18in tho, i had them on my 300zx for 6 months and had no trouble, i also drive into city a lot but will scrap the cf bonnet and paint job idea:(

Thats rubbish, your allowed up to 18in wheels and as long as suspension isnt adjustable thats ok too. Exhaust should be ok if not to loud.

supplier is in japan, comes down to adelaide sometimes, one of the Zozuk bros. Wally at z imports also does importing.

very worried about this bs, is a top mount turbo illegal?? I would assume it would be illegal also if you have any chassis part of your car cut to fit an intercooler?? If my car would have to go through i can only hope they dont pop the hood!!

If your so concerned with trusting someone else to touch your car then y not do yourself, i do all mine (black met) and i get it looking like a showcar:) only downside is that i get a dead arm afterwards

car was about 5k, im expecting to do a rebuild hence the price i bought it for but cant plan what iam exactly going to do as i havent seen the car myself yet.

yeh mate i got this exact same letter in regards to my 15yo import 300zx, this was like 2 months ago tho. Does anyone know if this is for 15yo imports only or have other people with imports under SEVS been sent this letter too?
