Mate of mine is building a kit car and wants to weld up a custom exhaust for it. Anybody know of anywhere in the eastern suburbs that has a decent range of bends?

lol, try doing a landing gear lube...wasn't so much the heat but the humidity. put it this way when i was finished my overalls were wet and i don't normally sweat much at all...... such a lovley conversation this is btw

Was just thinking (at a very slow pace, it is hot....) has anybody ever thought about all this from the money side of things. The police dish out speeding fines left right and centre, majority of the time not working to slow people down but to make money. and nobody deny that everyone knows it's true, even the police admit it. Now is defecting cars etc. any different? it's like killing two birds with one stone they get a 'modified' car off the street and they make money. With all the stuff at Noble maccas etc. it just give them a reason to do it a little bit more and be a little bit harsher....being in a club ain't gonna change squat...unless maybe your in the MG club or something

The engine was built by Mercury in Brisbane from what I have heard they are one of the better workshops up there had a chat to them before I bought the car about a number of things but that was one question I didn't ask, might give them a ring tomorrow and find out. lol we have gone kinda off topic I think the best thing about the k&n filters is definatley the hex head, after taking off the pureone one the other day K&N FTW! So much easier, especially on a GTR, heaps easier to access the filter on gtst's so not so much of an issue......

not so worried about the cost, was more along the lines of I don't have either and dunno if a week will be enough time to get one...... and what on earth are you on about geoff (oh and the lockbar fits good too , just need to get an alignment done now)

Do you need a CAMS license to do the Driver Training?

Or just use K&N filters as they have a 1" socket head on the end.....

My parents will be going to Europe next month to travel around for 6 months so I might go visit them over there in July/August time....ah the benifits of working for QANTAS How about somewhere in asia? Hong Kong and Singapore are both good places to visit, I been pretty much everywhere else there too and those places are the best Bangkok isn't too bad as far as cool stuff goes but not the nicest place to visit, although some of the holiday destination in thailand are supposed to be pretty good.

I don't wanna know that, it's practically a brand new engine it shouldn't be burning any When they first built it they had a problem with a couple of cylinders leaking but the engine was pulled appart again and new rings put in and they put 1000k's or so on it to run it in and assured me i wouldn't have a problem. I'll be taking it to racepace within the next couple of months when i have the new fuel system in so will see what they think. yeh 5w30 seems to be good, though might go to a 10w60 or something for the track when i finally get there

About 500ml over 3000k's There's pretty much no smoke out the exhaust regardless...ever of any type so I dun think the rings are leaking. Oil i'm using at the moment is a full syn 5w30. Although I am still trying to work out some pressure issues as well, as I always seem to have 2kg/cm2ish regardless of rpm...I was under the impression oil pressure changes with rpm. Not sure yet if this is a true reading or an sensor/gauge fault....

I think they'd go somewhere else. And just like the rest of us you need to have a plausible reason to do something just like we do. I remember back in the day when I used to be out doing this sort of thing, we'd go to industrial park and out of the way places though away from residential and 'public' areas. Then we got cleared out of these places and it became too much or a risk to go there anymore. The people had to go somewhere and this is where they have ended up.....I mean people have always hung around 24h maccas as long as i can remember but never to this level and it was always fairly orderley. Regardless of how hard the police try they can't get rid of this problem it's not going to go away. But wasn't it better when it was happenening in an industrial park or the likes, where the 'public' wasn't around and it wasn't really interfearing with anyone in general.

Been experimenting with different oils etc. finding something good to use, benifits/downfalls of each. I found the mobil1 oil filters to be good but seem to get a more stable oil pressure with the K&N. The engine is fairly new too changed it the first couple of times just to make sure there were no particles or anything in the oil, cos the first time i changed it after I got the car it was pretty nasty. Although now I seem to be burning/leaking oil need to work out where and why, got a feeling it's of one of the turbo lines
