  1. The oxygen sensor is attached to the dump-pipe so intake side of it should have no effect. Oily filters can cause problems with the Air Flow meter though.
  2. I don't now what the law is over there but in NZ it is ALWAYS the fault of the driver of the car rear-ends another vehicle because they have not allowed enough braking distance. He may be reluctant to pay out if he now realises that legally he doesn't have to.
  3. It will fit, you wont have the GTS boost gauge though. Not much point though as it still is only going to go up to 180km/h. The nismo GTR is a popular upgrade.
  4. Anyone noticed any benefits running both ebc and HKS actuator on std 25t turbo?
  5. Thanks Scooby, SK's on the money as usual Still not 100% sure whether actuator will be much use to me. If standard actuator is 7psi and I want to run 12psi (HKS actuator is 12 - 13psi) is that a big enough difference to reduce the accuracy of the boost via the EBC?
  6. Thanks Disco, so no point in both (I already have the boost controller)
  7. The actuator? Nengun sell them for about $170 Aus but I can get one from a guy over here in NZ for $150NZ (he wants to get rid of it because he doesn't need it)
  8. I have got the PFC boost controller kit ready to install. Would there be any benefit to fitting a HKS wastgate actuator as well? I will be looking at setting the boost level at about 0.8 bar (12 PSI) which is within the recommended range of 0.8 - 0.9 for the HKS actuator. Will it make the boost more stable? Make it easier for the solenoid to do its job? Enable boost to spool up quicker? Or will the boost controller do just as good a job with the standard acuator. This is for a R33 25t series II
  9. Have you got: bigger injectors, Fuel Pump, Front mount intercooler and Power FC (or similar)? If no then you'l need them, if yes then HKS turbo's are very good. You can get kits for GT 2530 Kai (approx 220 rwkw) and GT-RS (approx 240 rwkw) Have a look at this thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=55845
  10. You need a bigger positve offset for wider rims, on the back of a rwd skyline at least ie 17 x 8 front +32 offset. 17 x 9 rear + 38 offset.
  11. You are a bit mixed up there you are refering to "wholesale" prices which is what a wholesaler would charge a retailer. Trade prices are a discounted price that a retailer would charge companies or individuals that use their products in their business/trade. ie a paint shop would sell paint at a trade discount to a painter, a parts shop sould sell parts at a trade discount to a workshop.
  12. They should fit fine as that is the recommended size & offset for ECR33 by most japanese wheel companies.
  13. Blitz and ARC go underneath and use a lot of the sock intercooler piping. Apexi, HKS, Trust go behind/over radiator.
  14. No such thing. All R34series have neo engines which are updated (more powerful, fuel efficient etc) from the R33 series. RB25DET NEO is the only turbo engine from the (non-GTR) R34 range
  15. Doesn't the four wheel drive have problems with different width wheels front to rear? They would fit OK (if the offset was spot on) but because of the 4WD, 17 x 8's all round would be ideal.
  16. Sounds Good Mate. Good response also?
  17. Skyline model = R33 GTS25t series II Wheel diameter = 17 Wheel width = 8 Wheel offset = +35 Tyre size = 235/45 Modifications to fit = None
  18. You can't alter the PFC you have, Apexi sell the D-jetro verson that uses MAP sensors instead of AFM's. Unfortunately I have not seen this version to suit GTS25t though (Evo, Silvia & GTR only). So, as far as I know you are stuck with the AFM if you want a PFC for GTS25t.
  19. I said in a previous post that it is not a good idea to have the air filter not secured. But there must be some merit in my approach of removing the top of the airbox completly so that only the frame that holds the airbox in place remains. Considering Blitz manufacture something that has exactly the same effect. The trouble with the standard airbox lid is that the inlet from the "snorkel" is very small, opening up the cover lets air come through the snorkel as per usual as well as any additional airflow into the engine bay. It it will add a few Kw's on the dyno but I would say that this could be offset by increased heat soak in on road driving conditions.
  20. Whats bad about it?
  21. The cover holds the filter in place so it could possibly fall off. What i did as an experiment was to get a second airbox lid and cut the whole top of it off so that only the edges that clip on to the bottom section of the airbox remain. This holds the air filter securely in place. Blitz make a metal frame to replace the airbox lid which does the same job they call it the blitz induction cover. http://www.blitz.co.jp
  22. The hicas for wheel steering kicks in at a set speed. I had a similar problem in my old R32, occasionally the power steering stopped working and the hicas light would go on. Turning car off and restarting was enough to fix it. Only did this for a period of a few months and then was fine after that.
  23. Check the HKS website for details HKS achieved 290kw and 465Nm at the engine with GT-RS on a RB25 stagea ,268kw and 450Nm with GT2530-KAI in the same set up. Both made peak power at about 6500 rpm and peak torque at 5000 rpm. As the GT-RS kit only costs two or three hundred dollars more, this may be the best way too go. More power with a slight loss of response but will save you from wondering "what if?" which could happen if you went with the smaller turbo.
  24. Exchange rate is about 0.9 so would be about AUS$31,500 There is an even more interesting stagea listed today http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...on-31277633.htm Im not selling these car's or anything just giving you guy's an idea of whats available over here at the moment. Not sure about importing to Aussie, a lot more complex than importing to NZ anyway.
  25. Good value 260RS in NZ at the moment (NZ$35,000) http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...on-30819753.htm
