  1. hi guys. my front wipers are not working (rear are working though) and i cant find a fuse for them. ive only managed to find a wiper amp box on the drivers side rear corner of the engine bay. ive taken my steering colum covers off near the wiper arm and the switchs are ok and have good ground(earth) supply but no power supply to the switch. can anyone surgest anything else to check before i go to the auto elecs? thanks Justin
  2. i think i may just get GCG to bore out my internal wastegate hole....$395 to bore it out from 27mm too 37mm. problem im having is it just isnt flowing enough and im getting massive boost creep because of it. but my main prob with this is the turbo is a new gt3540r IW and why havent garrett done the maths to allow the internal gate to flow enough???? its not as though im only trying to run 10psi... im trying to run 18-19psi through it and still get boost creep at the top of the rev rang as high as 24psi. my tuner surgested going 50mm external but its just too much trouble, and im not sure there will be enough room on my exhaust manifold to weld a external wastegate pipe into the collector area. thanks Justin
  3. yeah i get your point and agree but i think brands like turbosmart are way overpriced. i just dont see the value for money. looks like i will have to bight the bullet though and buy a turbosmart one, thanks Justin
  4. hi guys im looking at purchasing a 50mm jjr external wastegate from justjap, any commoents from poeple that have used them would be great, good or bad experience? thanks Justin
  5. its running an apexi powerfc. and yeah getting it tuned very soon just want to sort out this prob first cause i cant really get much time off work. and dont want to take it to get tuned only to have them say "cant tune it yet, something else must be done first" thanks Justin
  6. dangerman i was hoping you would reply to this thread as i have seen your other threads on the same turbo. yeah will post a pic up tyomorrow of the dump pipe. why is the correct name for this turbo a gt3582r-iw? i thought it was gt3540r-iw? is the part number different cause of the smaller turbine housing? thanks Juatin
  7. its a split dump pipe. so i guess i can weld in a larger wategate pipe section. i can give it a go. thanks Justin
  8. its a gt3540 IW with .63 rear and .7 front and the wastegate valve is def opening fully, its not restricted by the dump pipe. that was the first thing i checked. thanks Justin
  9. hi guys i recently put a gt3540 with internal waste gate on my r34. the prob im having is it still makes boost after the waste gate has opened, i have moved away form the aftermarket actuator sold with the turbo as its spring too heavy. i have since made up a solid braket and mounted my standard r34 wastegate actuator and i can feel the actuator (and see Via boost gauge) open up just before 10psi, but then as the revs increase to 4000rpm and higher the boost also creeps higher and im talking a big increase to like 20psi with the waste gate open. so fare i have tried using tie wire and tying the wastegate flap open, take it for a test drive and i would have thought it would make next to NO boost although through the higher gears form 3rd anyway the boost is at 0psi till i get to about 3500rpm then it creeps up to 5psi at around 4000rpm and if i countinue to push the revs higher it reachs about 8-9 psi at 6-7000rpm. ALL THIS WITH THE WASTE GATE FULLY OPEN!!! can anyone shed some light for me? i want to clear this problem up before i take the car into get tuned. i should also make it clear that there is no restrictions in the exhaust so there should be no back pressure it is a full 3'' exhuast from the turbo and only one straight through cannon muffler. and the problem cant be with the boost controller because if i take the actuator pressure hose straight after the compressor cover directly to the wastegate actuator...(meaning that if the actuator is rated at 14.7psi it should open at that pressure exactly. no boost controller to interferr with the pressure sigal. any helpful surgestions appreciated guys thanks Justin
  10. items no longer for sale at the moment... items wil be back up in a week or so. thanks
  11. just car are very dear. although i had an accident and it was in for repair the following week, and a good job was done so i was very happy with that... but on another note a friend of mine had his Rx7 series8 stolen 6 months ago and they still havent paid him out yet.
  12. hi Greg, ive been looking at the prices of these and compairing them. main reson for starting this thread, as the q45 is larger i thought it would have been better(that is if you changed all your pipes to the larger diameter), anyway i have seen the (secondhand)q45 afm for as cheap as US$50+postage, where as i have not seen a secondhand z32 afm go for under AUS$180+postage. so the z32 are def more popular. i thought they had the same voltage reading capabilities, only difference being one bigger than the other....guess i was wrong. (can anyone confirm this?) would like to hear from ppl who have a q45afm setup on there car and have experienced it first hand being difficult to tune with. thanks Justin
  13. i thought some one would have commented by now?
  14. hi guys anyone used both a q45 and a z32? curious to know which is better in terms of tuning capabilities, i would have thought the q45 was better as its bigger although i have notice most people tend to go for the z32s, any reason why? thanks Justin
  15. hi this is also a question im intested in, i have also removed my tcs throttle body setup, now running greddy plenum ect. but now i need to fool the power fc somehow, or turn the feature off completly. is ther a way to do this through the hand controller? thanks for the help...in advance and great thread. Justin
  16. yeah thats a great idea. i will be having a talk to a few hose shops through the week and if there is no way to join this stuff the aluminium line bent to shape will be the way to go. i actually have a tube bender and pipe flaring kit at home, so i can do it all my self, theres just the alloy pipe for me to buy so it could work out to be very cost effective. if anyone else has any other ideas on how to join this stuff, your input/ideas welcome. thanks Justin
  17. these plastic type fuel hoses have actually been around for a while. im pretty sure later model camrys and comodores have them also. most late model cars also have the plastic push on fitting either side of the fuel filter i really dont want to run new hoses because the factory ones are soo neat, they have purpose bends in them and run perfectly in clamps along the floor pan. if i put a full rubber hose in place of the originals there is no way it would look as neat and conformed to the body. anyway for those who havent seen the new plastic.nylon/teflon??? type of hose i will post a pic up this arvo. thanks Justin
  18. i unerstand everything you guys are saying, but your getting too indepth. first of all the car is an r34 it will only be used for drag. it maynot be regersted next time round, so im not worried about the legal side of things with surge tank and what type of line is used in the boot. the surge tank has been made with 8mm hose tails, so no prob there. hoses push straight on to surge tank then clamp.....too easy. here is the problem...ive taken off the inspection plate in the boot. worked out the pump line and fpr line. but they are factory fitted nylon or maybe teflon hoses all the way from the fuel filter in the engine bay to the tank...and at the tankthe hoses have a 90 degree plastic end and a push on type fitting that snaps into place.(i will take a pic tomorrow and post it up) i know earlier skyline have rubber hoses but nissan have obviously upgraded this. so my options are run whole new lines from fuel pressure regulator and supply filter back under the car to the surge tank, or find a way to conect rubber hose to the factory nylon hoses(which im hoping i can do via a barbed fitting, but not sure how that would go with the nylon/teflon hose) you guys will get a better idea of what im saying when i put a pic up.
  19. its a shame your in melb.. im in sydney and just fitted my new low mount setup a couple of weeks ago, i would have swaped manifolds, piping, turbo lines ect with you, i could have even done the work for you if in syd. damn!
  20. hi guys i bought a new turbo and actuator a while back and just got around to putting it on the car acouple of weeks back. the actuator that was supplied to me is to big, the supplier was supposed to send me a 1 bar but for some reason i ended up with one rated at 1.5 bar. so i want to swap some one..... if you have a 1 bar and want to swap me for a 1.5 bar let me know. it has to be the universal type with the 2 bolts. i am willing to do a cash adjustment for your trouble.
  21. hi guys. im about to install a surge tank and an 044 pump (external). since the factory fitted fuel line in an r34 are black nylon from filter in the engine bay all the way to the tank, im not sure about cutting and joining the lines. i was going to just use barb push in hose type with clamp, but im not sure if you can do this with the nylon lines, i just assumed they would be rubber type. for those guys who have done this please give me some advise.....surely you shouldnt have to run complete new lines under the car. thanks Justin
  22. thanks Steve, i will keep you guys in mind if i dont find a second hand one for a resonable price. thanks Justin
  23. if it doesnt sell please pm me. thanks Justin
