Yeah i have, and numerous other turbos that may have been used too. I guess im just trying to work out why this turbo was used. And also what i can advertise it for when i buy a new set up. Thanks for your help guys. I appreciate it
Sorry to dig up my old thread, but upon further investigation i have also noticed that the wastegate is actually part of the dump pipe, and its a 5 bolt dump. Does this sound like it is off of an rb30?
To be honest it doesnt bother me too much that it is a bit laggy. Its my daily so driving around town not seeing boost is good for the fuel economy. I am mainly concerned about the exhaust wheel letting go if its a ceramic wheel thats all.
That may explain the lag, the only thing that has me confused is the fact that there is no flange for the intercooler piping and there is no numbers stamped on the compressor housing.

Yeah thats what i thought, just wanting to make sure as this is my first rb motor. Thanks for all the help and advice and not grilling my due to the lack of info supplied. I appreciate it guys.

Cool thanks for the replies guys. When i get the car back ill investigate the core. My main concern is the turbo letting go thats all. But hey if it lets go it lets go i guess haha.
Im really sorry about the pic. Its the only one i have atm as the car is at the mechanics atm.
Apparently the vehicle has been running like this for at least the last three years. If this was the stock rb20 turbo would it be able to last three years on 16psi with out going pop?

Gday guys. I have recently purchased a r32 gtst with a few things done to it. The person i bought it from was a bit unsure on the details of the mods as he bought it like it was.
Basic run down from what i can see is that it has a fmic and turbo back exhaust with a split dump. It has a dyno sheet for 211rwkw at 16psi. The car has no boost controller, the wastegate actuator is running straight from the intercooler piping.
My conceren is that i dont know what turbo is on the car. It has nissan on the compressor housing but it doenst have any numbers printed on it (like 16v or such) and there is also no flange for the intercooling pipe. It starts to spool up at around 3500 rpm and makes full boost by about 5500 rpm.
Im sorry but i don't have any pics to post up here just yet. It may be a bit difficult but does anyone have any ideas as to what turbo this may be?
