  1. It may be worth doing a system pressure test on your car to help you narrow down where it's leaking from.
  2. Thanks for all the replies. I've even received a PM from a forum member offering to take me for a drive. Great people on this forum!! Thanks for the link squareznboxez, That car is silver/grey. I have already messeged V-Spec performance and I'm going to have a look at that vehicle on Monday. I'm hoping it's as good as it looks in the pictures.
  3. Thanks for the response Birds. In regards to coilovers - I was talking about adjustable ones. I recently got a RWC for my Monaro and I was informed that due to the crackdown on dodgy people doing RWC's part of the process is to take all the wheels off and take photo's of the car. So if adjustable coilovers are not legal, then it's just another price factor I need to take into consideration. As soon as I posted this, I just come across an ad on here for a nice looking GTR in Melbourne. I'm going to have a look at it on Monday. Hopefully, it all checks out.
  4. Hi All Very new to the forums, I have been reading up as much as possible on information regarding GTR's. Currently have my heart set on buying an R34 GTR. I have been in love with these cars for a long time and I'm in a position to purchase one. I have done a heap of searching on the internet and forums and I'm still unsure of a few things. I'm hoping some of the more experienced heads can give me some advice! 1/ Import vs buying locally. Prices in Australia tend to be around 10-15k more than what I could import a GTR for. I love the fact that I can view/touch the car before buying. Can anyone share their experiences here? Leaning towards importing at the moment and probably going through J-Spec. 2/ Common issues on 34 GTR's? From what I have seen, RB26's seem pretty reliable if they have been maintained, just like any car I guess. A friend of mine keeps telling me I'm going to regret buying one as they have nothing but problems. (Welsh plug issues has been mentioned a million times by him). 3/ I've been looking at a few GTR's interstate and most of them have coil over suspension. Reading through this forum, and google search has still left me puzzled if this is a legal modification or not! I looked through VIC roads, and download a document. It didn't specifically mention coil over suspension. From what I have read, as long as the original mounting locations have been used this should be ok? 4/ Value - GTR's seem to be holding their value pretty good. Are most people of the opinion that this car will hold it's value? 5/ Is there anyone in Victoria that would be willing to take me for a spin in their car? I've been in a 32 GTR before and loved it. I've never been in an R34 before. 6/ My budget is approx 65k - Buying a vehicle from interstate will obviously eat into this as I'd need to do my own RWC, transport, rego That's it for now, If I think of anything else I'll post in here later on. Apologies for the noob questions. I know a lot of them have been covered off before but a lot of the threads I've read through were a few years old so not sure if the information was still relevant. Thanks in advanced - Johnny
  5. Membership arrived today. That was quick! Thanks guys.
  6. Cheers, didn't know about/hear about that issue. My car has had a full-service history at Holden and they never mentioned anything. Although they have done some software upgrades along the way. Very scary issue to have especially on the brakes! Is your brother OK now?
  7. Brake issue? Not exactly sure what you are talking about. These cars do have crap rotors fitted on them from factory. The rotors were worn out at 50,000km and I replaced them along with new brake pads.
  8. Beautiful car. I'm the guy who messaged you on facebook saying if the car is still available in a few weeks I'll come down to have a look at it. I'm trying to speed the loose ends I have so I can purchase this car! Hopefully, I'll be in touch sooner rather than later. Good luck with everything. Cheers

  11. Hey guys Bit of an update. Monaro has been sold and I've spoken to the minister of finance... she has given me approval to step the budget up a little so I'll be looking for a nice R34 GTR. Looking at importing through Jspec. I just need to sort some things out and should be good to go within a month. If I did run across a nice one locally I'd snap it up, but currently prices are almost 10-20k above what I'd be able to import one over for. Really excited. I'm going to miss the Monaro but I know I'll be happy once I get a GTR. I always wanted a R34 and I knew if I got an R33 I'd probably always question myself for not getting the R34. I'll be signing up to Skylines Victoria shortly so I look forward to meeting some of you. Cheers
  12. Hi Tony Thanks for the info. Looks like I'll be joining up then. Hopefully it won't be too long before I have a skyline.
  13. Hi guys I'm thinking about joining up. I don't have a skyline yet though... how often do you guys meet? Cheers
  14. Amazing photo's! I'd love to experience this at least once in my life if I ever go to Japan!!
  15. Cool Vid, thanks for sharing.
  16. Hey guys New to the forums. I've been lurking for a long time but decided to finally join up. I currently own a 2004 Holden Monaro (pretty standard, just the usual mods exhaust, cold air and tune. Currently produces 260rwkw) I've owned this car for 8 years and I love it but I've been wanting a GTR now for a long time. The Monaro was purchased with 15,000km on the clock and was an ex Holden car. It now has 46,000km on the clock as it very well looked after. It's basically a weekend/summer car. I have a few people who are interested in it should I sell it. Which at the moment is looking likely. I've driven an R32 before and loved it. I'd be happy with any model GTR as long as it's relatively clean and fairly standard. I'm starting to do my research on the net and on these forums. (if you have any good threads for me, please point me in the right direction) A friend of mine owns a Skyline and has given me a heap of advice so I know what I'm in for. At this stage, I think I'm leaning towards an R33. It just seems like the best value for money. I'll have approx 35k to spend so it really puts an R34 out of my price range. I look forward to hopefully purchasing a GTR soon and coming out to meet some people on these forums. Thanks
